Chapter 2454
Chapter 2454
Sophia blushed instantly, her cheeks aflame, "Can you ever be serious?"
Jason retorted, "I've been serious with you for years, and yet you've never fallen for me!"
Sophia blurted out, "Who said I didn't like you?"
Jason's heart skipped a beat, but he managed to joke, "Like a father figure?"
Sophia burst into laughter, leaning into his chest, her shoulders shaking with mirth.
After a moment, Sophia asked, "Have you eaten?"
"You?" Jason countered.
Sophia shook her head, "Nope."
Feeling down, she had barely touched anything except for a few bites of cake and some wine.
"Me neither!" Jason exclaimed, glancing at the time, "What do you feel like eating? Let's grab a bite and then we can talk
Sophia, puzzled, asked, "Business?"
"The thing about inviting me upstairs," he said earnestly.
Sophia's blush, which had just faded, returned in full force as she raised her hand to hit him, "Stop it, or I'll ignore you!"
Jason smirked, "All right, no more teasing. What do you want to eat?"
Sophia tilted her head, playful yet charming, "I want something you've cooked!"
Jason had no objections, "Then let's hit the grocery store. Whatever you want, I'll cook!"
"No need to trouble yourself. We'll make do with whatever's there!" Sophia tugged at his hand, leading him upstairs, "Anything
you make is delicious anyway!"
That comment made Jason's heart feel as if it were soaking in warm honey.
He interlocked his fingers with hers, heading to her place. While waiting for the elevator, he suddenly turned and said, "Is this
your way of inviting me up?" Sophia's eyes widened, "No!"
"Regardless, now that I'm here, I won't be leaving easily," Jason said with depth, his gaze meaningful, "Get it?"
Jason's lips curved, his features softened, his grip on her hand firm, signaling he wouldn't let go easily again.
Once the elevator arrived, they ascended to her apartment, the confined space accentuating the budding nature of their
relationship.
Sophia thought, this is nice!
Back at her place, Jason flicked on the lights and headed to the kitchen. He knew her kitchen like the back of his hand.
He quickly found three eggs, a couple of packs of spaghetti, and some ground beef - all items he'd bought.
"How about spaghetti for dinner?" Jason asked, turning to Sophia.
Sophia, standing at the doorway, nodded. Jason, in his dark shirt and beige apron, looked exceptionally gentle as he asked for
her opinion, a rare occurrence that made her heart flutter.
Sophia watched, almost spellbound.
She couldn't understand her feelings. She and Jason had grown up together without her harboring any romantic feelings for him.
Why was it that after his confession, she began to see him in a new light?
She even questioned why she had ignored Jason's affection in favor of Robin's.
Noticing Sophia staring at him, sometimes frowning, sometimes deep in thought, Jason suggested, "Go take a shower. Dinner
will be ready soon."
It was a common suggestion, reflecting their casual camaraderie. Yet, today, the mention of a shower made Sophia feel
unusually sensitive, and she remained silent.
