Chapter 2455
Chapter 2455
"What's up?" Jason frowned, his gaze inquisitive.
"Nothing!" Sophia felt she might be overthinking things and quickly turned to leave.
She returned to the master bedroom, closed the door behind her, grabbed her pajamas, and headed to the bathroom, making
sure to lock it tightly behind her.
Even so, as she stood under the shower, the thought of Jason being just outside made her cheeks flush with a mix of anticipation
and nervousness. It was an unfamiliar feeling, leaving her bewildered and unsure.
After dressing in a long-sleeve shirt and pants, checking herself from head to toe, she finally left the bedroom.
Jason had just finished making spaghetti, and the aroma alone was enough to make Sophia's stomach growl with hunger.
"Smells amazing!" she exclaimed, her eyes lighting up.
"Wait up!"
Jason washed his hands and grabbed a clean towel, gently drying Sophia's hair with a natural, tender motion.
Sophia stood still, unusually obedient.
"Make sure your hair is dry before going to bed after dinner!" Jason advised.
"Are you leaving after dinner?" Sophia asked without thinking.
Sophia's cheeks turned scarlet, and she pushed his hands away. "It'll dry quickly, let's eat."
Jason's lips curled into a slight smirk as he set the towel aside and sat down opposite Sophia. It was eleven at night, and they
were having dinner together. Sophia took hearty bites of her spaghetti, genuinely praising, "This is so good!" Jason raised an
eyebrow, wiping a smudge of marinara sauce from her lips with a napkin. "Is it really that good? Have you been starving for
days?"
Sophia lightly touched her lips, nodding, "I really haven't had a proper meal in days!"
A spark of satisfaction appeared in Jason's eyes. "Because of me?" he teased.
Sophia, caught off-guard, blushed and stayed silent, focusing on her plate instead.
Jason continued eating, clearly in a good mood, while Sophia decided it was best to keep quiet and just eat her spaghetti.
Three soft-boiled eggs were served; Jason gave her two. Sophia ate one and split the other, offering him half.
Jason looked up, catching her gesture, but then focused back on his meal as if nothing had happened.
Some things were subtly changing, the simplest actions now laden with special meanings.
The shift in feelings often happens quietly, yet unmistakably.
After dinner, Jason asked Sophia to dry her hair while he tidied up the dining area and kitchen.
When Sophia returned, Jason, with
his hand
warm glow of the light, looked at her intensely. "Figured out a reason to keep me here? If not, I'm leaving."
Sophia waved him off nonchalantly, "Drive safe, see you tomorrow!"
Jason frowned slightly, stepping closer, "It's dark and cold, and you're letting me
go?"
"I—uh!"
Sophia's eyes widened in surprise as Jason kissed her, her instincts making her clutch at his sleeves.
After drying her hair and brushing her teeth with peach-flavored toothpaste, which was sweet and refreshing, Jason's breath
carried the tang of lemon water. Their flavors mixed, akin to sparkling water "bubbling" down the throat, with countless bubbles
rising in her heart, scattering in colorful, floating drifts.
Sophia's eyes darted around, feeling as if since that night they had
opened
up, Jason was like a
character from a game,
from a game,
untea
And with each kiss, it felt like he was pounding at the seals around her heart, the
cracks widening.
She found herself increasingly unable to resist.
Jason caressed her soft, fragrant hair, his kisses fervent as he lifted her in his
arms and carried her to the bedroom.
