Chapter 2453
Chapter 2453
Walking back to her apartment late at night, after meandering through a couple of streets for what felt like half an hour, Sophia
could feel the chill in the air biting at her cheeks.
She was dressed in a taupe long sweater, her bag slung across her shoulder, hands buried deep into her pockets, head bowed
as she strolled leisurely towards home.
The wind played with her short hair, casting shadows on the ground that she fixated on until she brushed her hair behind her ear
with a swift hand motion.
Suddenly, she paused, a sense of awareness washing over her as she looked up and saw a black Rolls-Royce Cullinan parked
under the streetlight. There stood a man, leaning casually against the car, dressed in a dark sweater with one hand pocketed.
His glasses glinted under the streetlight, his gaze fixed on her as if he had been watching her the whole time.
The moon wasn't as full tonight but still shone brightly, casting long shadows that mingled with the cool light of the streetlamp.
Sophia's heart raced, overwhelmed as if caught in a tumultuous wave, her senses flooded with the salty sting of seawater.
Sniffling, she hastened her steps towards the man, breaking into a run, and then a sprint until she threw herself into his arms in a
desperate embrace, seeking solace like a drowning person clinging onto a lifeline.
Jason, barely managing to stand straight in time, wrapped his arms around her tightly. His voice was low, tinged with a hint of
uncertainty, "Missed me?"
"Mhm," came Sophia's muffled reply, her voice heavy with emotion.
As he kissed her ear and the side of her head softly, Jason murmured an apology for his impatience and promised to give her
the space she needed, his words a blend of regret and devotion.
Sophia shook her head against his chest, finding comfort in his warmth, her turbulent thoughts calming in his embrace.
"I've been thinking a lot too. I was wrong," Jason confessed, his lips brushing against her hair as he spoke with sincerity. "I don't
care how you want to express your feelings, just don't leave me."
Looking up at him, her eyes brimming with tears, Sophia confessed her encounter with Robin, reassuring Jason that their
Laughing softly, Jason embraced her folly with affection, "You're adorably silly!"
Her laughter joined his, the tension dissolving into the night as they shared a moment of light-heartedness.
"Have you sorted your things out?" Sophia asked, concern lacing her words. Jason's response was a deep, searching gaze
before he leaned down to kiss her, a gesture filled with longing and a silent promise of devotion.
The kiss was different this time; Sophia didn't pull away but instead, responded eagerly, her actions speaking volumes of her
feelings.
Her lips tasted faintly of cocktails, a reminder of their nights out, soothing Jason's emotions and deepening his affection for her.
All his longing, hesitation, and passion were conveyed in that one kiss, drawing them closer in the silent night.
As the kiss ended, they stood under the intertwined light of the streetlamp and the moon, their shadows merging into one.
Catching her breath, Sophia's heart raced, her body flushed with warmth from the intensity of their connection.
Jason's lips found hers again, this time with a gentle tenderness that enveloped her soul.
Noticing someone passing by, Sophia blushed, seeking refuge in Jason's embrace, her voice barely a whisper, "How long have
you been here?"
"I came straight from the airport," Jason admitted, his dark eyes holding hers.
Frowning slightly at the thought of him waiting in the cold, Sophia insisted, "Let's not stand here in the cold. Let's go upstairs."
The implication of her words hung in the air, a playful challenge in Jason's eyes as he teased, "Inviting a man upstairs this late,
do you know what that implies?"
