Chapter 478
Reese blushed and stole a quick glance at him, her words stumbling over her shyness. "Well, I mean... take your time; I'm not
quite used to it!"
Lukas chuckled softly, his voice laced with seduction. "I'll follow your lead, my dear."
It was then that Reese noticed the slight damage to the corners of his mouth.
She scolded herself softly, "I... it was me last night, wasn't it?"
Lukas lifted his eyes to meet hers, a hint of playfulness in his gaze. "You bit me last night."
Reese blushed intensely and wished she could hide her face in her bowl. She was completely mortified by the revelation.
Lukas looked at her with a warm, affectionate smile. "Come, finish your breakfast. Then we'll go to work together."
Reese mumbled in agreement, her shyness still overwhelming her.
Though they had commuted together on many occasions, this time felt distinctly different. It was as if the frosty exterior of an ice
When Reese and Lukas arrived at the office and worked side by side, there was a palpable nervousness in the air.
When the time came for them to part ways, it tugged at Reese's heartstrings and she was reluctant to leave.
They were still in the early stages of their relationship, and even though she knew it was impractical, she had a longing to be by
his side at all times.
Lukas watched Reese as she stepped into the elevator, his gaze never wavering from her until the doors closed behind her.
On the top floor, Lukas ran into Martins, who couldn't help but express his concern, "Mr. Strakovski, why is there a cut on the
corner of your mouth?"
Martins quickly realized how unwise his question was. Considering the extravagant gestures Lukas had made the day before,
buying roses and all. The question about an injury in such a sensitive area was rather foolish.
Surprisingly, Lukas wasn't embarrassed at all. Touching the scratched corner of his mouth with his thumb, Lukas smiled,
"Perhaps it was a small injury caused by my... little Reese."
As Lukas spoke, an unprecedented level of tenderness overcame his normally stoic expression.
However, the suggestion that a cat could have caused an injury in such a suggestive location was hard to believe.
Martins, who was in the know, replied with a knowing look, "Mr. Strakovski, I've put today's documents in your office. Feel free to
call me at any time if you need anything."
With a nod, Lukas walked confidently into his office.
It had only taken an hour for rumors of Lukas' condition to spread throughout the company.
"Did you hear? Mr. Strakovski got a scratch on the corner of his mouth from his cat today!" he said.
"No, it's not just scratched, it's a special scratch. He seems to be in a fantastic state of mind today!"
"I heard that he even went to the top floor to deliver some design drafts. He smiled so kindly, so handsome. Just think about it -
the guy who usually wears a poker face all the time is all of a sudden so charming. It was like something out of a romance
novel!"
"Haha, maybe something wonderful happened to Mr. Strakovski. Who knows, maybe the cat incident had something to do with
last night? Let's not forget that yesterday was Valentine's Day!"
By the time these conversations reached the design department, Reese was in the middle of their discussions, her cheeks visibly
red.
Listening to the staff gossip about a "wild cat" scratching the corner of Lukas' mouth, Reese couldn't help but purse her lips and
fight to keep from laughing.
