Clayton's countenance changed slightly, but he decided to remain silent.
Caitlin stared at Kallie, shocked. She hadn't expected Kallie's firm support. She had assumed Kallie would minimize the issue or even scold her later for creating a scene. Perhaps she had been wrong about Kallie.
Sensing Caitlin's gaze of surprise, Kallie offered a comforting smile.
"It's okay. Say what's on your mind. I've got your back."

As Caitlin spoke, she motioned toward her ripped and soiled dress.
