Chapter 270
Hogan was fuming, ready to fire back when Finnian cut him off sharply, "Hogan, what nonsense are you spouting? Apologize to Amara."
"Finnian?" Hogan stared at him in disbelief.
In his mind, Finnian had always been not-so-fond of Amara. So why was he taking her side now?
"Apologize to her." Finnian's voice was cold and unwavering. "Don't make me repeat myself."
Hogan was taken aback by Finnian's insistence. He couldn't believe Hogan would use a phrase like "shameless" to describe Amara.
In the three years Finnian hadn't been paying attention to Amara, how many such insults had she endured?
"No need," Amara said coolly. "I don't want it."
What good was an apology from Hogan, especially if it wasn't sincere? She had no use for empty gestures.
fainted."
"Her fainting has nothing to do with me. I called the ambulance to take her to the hospital purely out of basic decency. Now that you're here, I'll be
leaving."
With that, she turned on her heel and walked away.
Finnian watched her retreating figure for a few moments before striding after her, "Are you heading back to the set? Let me give you a ride."
"No need," Amara replied, her eyes fixed on the tips of Finnian's polished shoes, a wave of bitterness washing over her.
Liliana hadn't been at the hospital long before Finnian rushed in. He must be really worried about Liliana to have come so quickly. Every action he
took seemed to scream his concern for Liliana. Not too long ago, he had pretended to have feelings for Amara, and she had almost believed him.
How foolish.
Pushing down the wave of emotion, Amara sidestepped Finnian and walked away.
"Bro, your wife is still in the hospital room."
"Don't call her my wife. She's not," Finnian cut Hogan off coldly, heading towards the emergency room door.
The door swung open just as the nurse was coming out. Finnian asked, "How is she?"
"Ms. Porter is awake. She can be moved to a regular room and you can speak to her there. Please wait a moment."
Finnian nodded, waiting a few minutes before following the gurney to the regular room.
Once the doctors and other staff had left, he turned to the now-conscious Liliana, "What happened today? Why did you faint?"
"Just overworked lately. I was exhausted and fainted from fatigue. You don't need to worry," Liliana replied, her face pale, forcing a weak smile.
Finnian's eyes darkened slightly. "Why did you go to see Amara?"
Liliana's heart skipped a beat.
Finnian studied her for a long moment, saying nothing.
Liliana's heart began to race, panic rising within her.
Did Amara badmouth her to Finnian? Would Finnian think she was trying to frame Amara by fainting there?

His words were curt, but Liliana sensed he wasn't going to press the issue further, which eased her mind a little. She simply nodded in agreement.
