After packing up several simple things Mia left with Rebecca to go back to the Brown residences. Mia was actually relieved as soon as she sat in the
car. This time she will become Sophia’s personal nurse 24 hours a day. In that case, William will not have any opportunity to have physical relations
with her.
She rubbed her abdomen and her slender back leaned against the backrest. She closed her eyes and sighed.
Rebecca sat by her side and she clutched a large phone while talking to William, “Yes Boss. I will relay the message to Missus. Do I need to prepare
some clothes for you? Book the return air ticket? A week later? Okay, okay, I will inform your secretary, yes, yes.”
Does William have an upcoming business trip? That’s even better.
She saw the familiar large gate as they reached the Brown residence. As Mia got off the car, she was greeted by a cold breeze and she shivered in
the cold. The road led deep into the courtyard and a chill ran down her spine. She consoled herself, “William this curse will be leaving soon, what’s
there to be worried about?”
The thought of how the kind and gentle Sophia will welcome and take care of her eased her concerns. She calmed and braced herself and walked in.
She was brought by Rebecca to Sophia’s room. This was the second time she entered the room. The room was predominantly pink with some blue
for coordination.
Sophia was sitting on the huge princess bed. Her pale face revealed her sickness. Her nails had been done with bright colors to make up for her
condition.
Rebecca conscientiously relayed what William had instructed. Sophia smiled at Mia with a tender and yet gloomy expression. Mia shuddered as
Sophia said, “Rebecca, bring Miss Charles around to familiarize herself with the surroundings. At the same time show her what I need daily.” She said
in her sickly and gentle voice. By now, Mia felt that she had worried too much and she was a lot more at ease with the arrangements.
She always knew that there was another small room. That was Sophia’s temporary treatment room. Rebecca used a key to open the door and led
Mia in.
“This is Missus’s daily treatment regime. Have a close look at it and ask me if you don’t understand. Additionally... “Rebecca threw what looked like
an instructions booklet and after she went through them, she pointed to the machines and began to explain to Mia.
She studied medicine and naturally could easily understand. She looked at the booklet as Rebecca explained. The session took almost an hour. As
they were about to leave, Rebecca suddenly walked over to the table and pulled out a drawer full of medicine, “Remember, you need to give Missus
these medicines every day. In the drawer are those medicine currently in use and those on the table are the expired ones. You must be clear about
this. When you spot those medicine that will be expiring soon, you’ll need to put them on the table...”
“What?” Mia stared at Rebecca’s hand in disbelief.
Rebecca wasn’t angry and patiently explained again, “Those medicine in the drawer are what Missus needs, those on the table are expired...”
“Are you... sure?” Alarm bells rang in her head. She shook her head in disbelief, “Aren’t those on the table the ones to be consumed?” That time

Mia felt sick in her stomach to know that her mistake had brought so much harm to Sophia. She should apologize since she was in the wrong.
“You must have seen clearly,” Sophia said before Mia could. Her hands held onto her abdomen and her pretty nails complemented her pampered and
chilling face, “The last time I made the error intentionally. You must know the reason why I did it.

She was dazed, Mia looked at her with her crystalline eyes. She looked at her sickly and kind face which actually was full of chilling hatred.
The pink lips were full of luster but the words that came out of her mouth were increasingly cold, “Mia, didn’t you leave? Why did you come back?
Why are you clinging onto William?”
“I... I didn’t!” Her heart can’t take the intense excitement. Mia had difficulty breathing and couldn’t reply properly. She couldn’t believe her ears and
kept shaking her head. She kept doubting herself if she had made a mistake. When did the kind and gentle Sophia turn into this heartless being?
“Mia, do you think that I’m a fool? Do you really think that I’m useless? A useless woman who can allow you to cling onto my man and yet do nothing
about it?” Her sharp voice fired towards Mia. Mia could feel a barrage of arrows flying towards her piercing every inch of her.
She didn’t have the strength to rebut and only shook her head, “It’s not like that, Mrs. Brown...”
Sophia refused to listen to any of her explanation and continued ruthlessly, “Why don’t you think clearly, how is it that you were ovulating and yet are
not pregnant? Let me tell you, I didn’t intend to let you get pregnant! Don’t you know? What you ate had contraceptive medicine mixed in. I cannot let
another woman carry William’s child! You want to act stupid and seduce William. So, I need to teach you a lesson and let you see the result of
offending me!”
So that was the truth! So her kindness was just for the show. Mia escaped from the lion’s den and stumbled into a snake pit. Yes, now Sophia looked
like a cold and evil snake. She could use her life to teach her a lesson! Mia broke out in cold sweat. She felt that Sophia was vicious and terrifying.
“Do you think that William didn’t kill you because he loved you? Mia, you’re so wrong. He didn’t kill you because he wanted your bone marrow for
me!”
Mia knew about this but her words ripped open a wound, it hurt like hell.
She was wrong, wrong, wrong, entirely wrong. Mia felt that she was a clown that couldn’t see the light of day. Suddenly she was dragged in front to
be scolded and ridiculed.
She doesn’t have any other thoughts except to leave. She wanted to cover herself up! Her eyes were already full of tears of shame. She shook her
head while blaming herself, “Sorry, sorry, sorry, I’ll leave, I’m willing to leave, I’m sorry...”
“Leave?” Ha!” She laughed coldly. By now Sophia was unrecognizable, “Impossible!”
Another cold scoff, Sophia increased the intensity of her verbal assault, “You want to leave and then let William think that it was me who forced you

Sophia had vented sufficiently and looked victoriously over Mia who had collapsed and trembling on the floor. She got off the bed and walked over
slowly like a patient. She looked down at Mia like falcons eyeing a prey from above.
She slowly squatted down and lifted her chin high and glared at her threateningly, “Don’t ever try to tell William about this. You are nothing to him. He
will believe me unconditionally! I won’t be responsible for anything that may happen. Also, attend to me properly and preserve yourself! Once the
bone marrow transplant is complete, I will give you some money to guarantee your subsistence!”
She doesn’t want money! She only wants to leave this humiliation. Mia was choking and in shame but couldn’t say a word.

Sophia walked back to the bed and sat down. She was back to her weak and gentle voice but she reminded Mia coldly, “Remember, if you ever dare
to climb onto William’s bed, I’ll break your leg!”
Mia was kicked from one hell to another hell, she couldn’t see any glimmer of hope. When no one was around, Sophia repeatedly tortured her
preventing her from sleeping. When someone was around, she’ll become that weak and kind person, pretending to be very nice to her.
Another night that Mia could hardly sleep. Sophia placed a bed in her room but only allowed her to rest on a chair. How could she be comfortable in
that narrow chair? It was very tedious when Sophia’s condition acted up. Every three minutes she would want someone to serve her and Mia had to
run around the entire night. Her legs were already soft and her eyes bloodshot.
Sophia gave her a break and let her out but it was after breakfast.
She instructed Rebecca to send two portions of breakfast to the room and she made Mia look on as she ate and then ordered her to pour away her
portion into the toilet.
She had endured these for three days.
She was famished. Sophia did this to her and she practically didn’t eat for three days. She was already very thin. Sophia’s means of torturing her was
on par with William’s punishments. She sighed to herself, “no wonder they could become husband and wife.”
Mia came to the yard with a medicine container in her hands. There was a briquette furnace and her task was to warm up Sophia’s medicine.
She sat on a stool and very soon she started to nod asleep.
“Hey, what are you doing, can’t you see that the medicine is dripping out!” A shrill voice rang out which woke Mia. She saw a man and woman
standing in front of her.
Both the man and woman dressed very well and definitely were people with status and stature. They looked very familiar. Mia was so hungry that it
affected her mentally. Finally, she saw the man’s grey hair and remembered Teddy Hans and Mindy Sails. The most famous philanthropists of
Huntington City. Mia had nothing but respect for them.
