Chapter 396

Chapter 396 Alcohol Bolsters the Coward's Courage
Once the waiter left, Isidora looked at Aiden, a bit embarrassed, and asked, "Why didn't you explain things to the waiter just
now?"
"You don't get it, do you? Usually, the things they recommend are the best. Since they suggested the couple's drink, we might as
well try it. No one knows us here anyway," Aiden said, raising an eyebrow.
Seeing his cheeky expression, Isidora couldn't help but feel a bit helpless. She had thought Aiden might have some feelings for
her, but it turned out she was overthinking it. Clearly, Aiden had never considered being with her. Isidora sighed silently. She
couldn't force him to be with her, could she?
Even though it was a misunderstanding, the waitstaff at the bar treated them like a couple and even gave them small gifts.
Moreover, the bar had a couple's activity. If they completed a series of tasks, they could get a 10% discount on their bill. This was
just a fun game for couples, and someone like Aiden didn't need a discount. But for some reason, Aiden was interested in the
game. And since there was a discount, why not take advantage of it?
"Let's go," Aiden said eagerly, pulling Isidora to complete the first task, which was taking a series of three photos in intimate
poses. This was the easiest task, so they finished it quickly. At first, Isidora was a bit hesitant about taking intimate photos and
didn't dare get too close to Aiden. But Aiden, looking enthusiastic, grabbed her hand and pulled her into a hug. This close
contact left Isidora momentarily flustered. Fortunately, Aiden whispered in her ear, "We just need to make it look real. Leave the

rest to me. Don't be scared."
For some reason, hearing Aiden's words made Isidora feel less afraid, and she cooperated with him. To outsiders, they looked
like the perfect couple completing the photo task. They even excelled in the subsequent games, like holding a piece of paper
between their faces and passing a cookie with their mouths. They came in first place in all the games. The waitstaff couldn't help
but applaud them, and they successfully earned the 10% discount.
When they left the bar, both of them were a bit tipsy. The couple's drink was indeed tasty but had a strong aftereffect. The staff
had advised them to drink in moderation, but they couldn't stop once they started. Aiden couldn't drive, so they had no choice but
to find a nearby hotel. When they got to the hotel, the front desk staff also mistook them for a couple and only gave them one
room. Aiden looked at the room key, puzzled, and asked, "Is there no other room available?"
The front desk staff thought Aiden was just being shy and nodded. After all, Aiden and Isidora were clearly adults, so the staff
decided to play along. Aiden took the room key and walked over to Isidora, who was sitting on the sofa, and awkwardly said,

"There's only one room left. I'll sleep on the sofa or the floor tonight."
"Okay," Isidora replied. She had a headache and didn't want to switch hotels; she just wanted to lie down somewhere. So, they
took the room key and went to their room. The front desk staff had indeed been considerate, giving them a couple's suite. When
they opened the door, they were stunned. The room was filled with rose petals, the lighting was dim, and there were some
romantic props on the bed. Seeing this, Isidora instantly sobered up a bit.
"Is this the only room they have?" Isidora asked hesitantly.
Aiden scratched his head, embarrassed. He couldn't understand why the front desk had given them such a room. "Should we

just make do?" Aiden suggested. They had no other choice. They turned on all the lights in the room to avoid an awkward
atmosphere. Aiden found an extra blanket in the closet and rolled onto the sofa, leaving the bed for Isidora.
Isidora washed her face in the bathroom and came out to see Aiden already lying on the sofa, ready to rest. As she passed by
the couch, she paused. She had always wanted to ask Aiden something ever since people started mistaking them for a couple.
"Aiden, can I ask you something?" Isidora, though embarrassed and uneasy, decided to be proactive.
Aiden sat up on the sofa, looking puzzled. "What's up?"

"Why didn't you correct people when they thought we were a couple?" Isidora asked, feeling particularly nervous, her hands
tightly gripping the hem of her shirt.
Aiden just smiled nonchalantly, not seeming to care about the misunderstandings. "Isn't it normal? Once people have a
misunderstanding, no matter how much you explain, they'll just think you're making excuses. So, why not go along with it? We
even got some benefits out of it, didn't we?"
Isidora wasn't satisfied with this answer. In her view, if someone didn't care about you, they would go out of their way to correct
any misunderstandings to avoid being seen a couple. "But I don't want that," Isidora said, biting her lip and looking seriously at
Aiden.
This confused Aiden. He felt that Isidora had become bolder after drinking. "So, what do you want?" Aiden thought maybe he
had done something to upset her and was considering how to make it up to her. But to his surprise, the next moment, Isidora

kissed him on the lips. Aiden froze, his body stiffening. He even forgot to resist, staring wide-eyed in disbelief at Isidora's actions.
"Aiden, I don't want to be in a misunderstood relationship. I really like you, so I'm expressing my feelings. What about you? Do
you like me?" Isidora said, leaning closer to Aiden, her hands on the sofa. Her actions seemed to suggest that if Aiden didn't
agree, she might force him.
Aiden swallowed hard, looking into Isidora's eyes seriously for the first time. He realized how beautiful her eyes were.
