Chapter 26
Chapter 26 Leave In Tears.
Ignoring him, Corynn hurriedly made her escape, Elliot’s sudden appearance sending a wave of unease washing
over her.
What the hell was Elliot doing here? Was he worried that she’d be mistreated?
She shook her head with a sneer, finding her far–fetched theory laughable.
Because she knew exactly what kind of person Elliot was. After all, she hadn’t forgotten the pain he caused her
three years ago.
Once she found a quiet spot, Corynn took a moment to gather her bearings and pulled out a vial of eye drops
from her bag. With a sorrowful expression and red–rimmed eyes, she left the club “in tears.”
As expected, a journalist snapped a photo of her as soon as she ran out, like a predator that had been eagerly anticipating its
prey.
Every move she made was being watched- which was exactly what she wanted.
At the door to her house, she ran into Jason–or rather, it seemed like Jason had been waiting for her.
Seeing her red eyes and tear–streaked cheeks, Jason frowned in concern. “Corynn, you don’t have to face this alone. I can help
you...”
Jason was taken aback, bewildered by her unexpected reaction.
“Looks like even you were fooled!” Corynn teased with a grin, holding out the vial of eye drops for him to see. “I wasn’t crying or
anything. My eyes are just red because of the eye drops.”
Mouth agape, Jason took the vial from her in a daze. The next moment, he too couldn’t help but laugh, too. “Looks like I was
worried for nothing.”
“All eyes are on me now, so I had to pull this stunt to mislead them,” Corynn explained. Opening the door, she gestured at Jason
to follow her. “Come on. Let’s talk inside.”
Jason obediently followed her in. He had been closely monitoring the Harper Group’s situation and knew that things were getting
worse by the day.
“So, how’s your company doing now?” he asked in a seemingly casual fashion.
Corynn turned on the lights in the living room and closed the door before answering. “I’ve found the solution to all our problems,
but I didn’t tell anyone because I’m worried the Willis family will catch wind of it. Only my family knows about this.”
“That’s so good to hear.” Hearing this, Jason sighed in relief. “But if things go south, I’m going to step in and help–whether you
like it or not!”

“If it comes to that, I won’t mind the extra hand,” Corynn said with a grin. “But for now, I want to handle this
by myself, okay?”
In her eyes, this obstacle was just another great opportunity for growth.
Still smiling, she grabbed a cold drink from the fridge and handed it to Jason, who accepted it gratefully.
“It’s a good chance to prove to everyone that even the Willis family can’t stop you,” Jason remarked in awe.
Corynn chuckled. “Damn, you must really believe in me if you’re not even going to ask me what my plan is.”
Now, it was Jason’s turn to grin. “Corynn, I’ve always believed in you.”
The sincerity in his eyes was comforting, but not overwhelming.
Despite this, Corynn looked away and quickly changed the subject, feeling a bit flustered under his expectant gaze. “The Willis
family thought we’d be done for if they cut off our supply chain, but I ended up buying a company that specializes in securing raw
materials. Now that we have a solid supplier, we can meet all our deliverables. The Willis family’s plan to ruin us will fail.”
Jason nodded approvingly. “Sounds like a solid plan.”
Back at the club, Kaden entered the private room, only to find a lone Elliot pouring himself a glass of whiskey,
“Mr. Andrews, Miss Harper left in tears,” he reported in a low voice.
Elliot’s hand paused mid–pour.
After a moment, he responded with a simple, “I see.”
Kaden was baffled. Earlier, Elliot had seemed deeply concerned when he learned that Corynn was soliciting help at the club–and
it was extremely rare for him to display such emotion.
Yet now, upon hearing that Corynn had left upset, he was completely indifferent.
