Richest Mogul

Chapter 1981

Chapter 1981
Hadwin asked, "Mom, aren't you curious why Vivian went abroad? Now that Mr. Martin and Mrs. Martin are back, why didn't she
stay in Jipsburg?"
Natalie was scrolling through short videos on her phone. Hearing Hadwin's question, she briefly glanced up at him before shifting
her gaze back to the
screen.
Her tone was casual. "Vivian's situation isn't ours to worry about. Skylar and Joe will take care of it. Are you still hung up on
Vivian?
"Did everything I said before go in one ear and out the other? You and Vivian are impossible. Focus on something else."
"Mom, aren't you even a little curious?" Hadwin conveniently ignored her last two sentences.
Whether they were a good match or not, he wouldn't give up until he heard it from Vivian herself.
Natalie rolled her eyes, her patience wearing thin. "Curious about what? You know how much Skylar and Joe treasure her.
There's nothing for us to worry about, and you shouldn't burden them with unnecessary questions. You're an adult now. Haven't
you learned that some things are better left unasked?"
Hadwin was at a loss for words. No one in their family could ever win an argument against his mother. She had an uncanny
ability to shut people down within a few sentences.

His lips twitched in frustration as he stood up. "Fine, I won't ask anymore, okay? I'm heading out—I have plans with some friends
tonight."
"Make sure you use protection. I'm not ready to be a grandmother," Natalie said coldly, giving him a sharp glance.
She had no idea how she ended up with such a playboy of a son. He changed girlfriends as often as he changed outfits.
If it weren't for the fact that contraceptives were so readily available now and the fact that some women took precautions, she
might have had several grandkids by
now.

Hadwin had barely taken a few steps when he nearly tripped over himself. His face twisted through several shades of
embarrassment.
"Want me to send a few boxes of protection to your place?" Natalie asked nonchalantly when he didn't respond.
Hadwin's lips twitched violently. "No need."
He walked toward the door but hesitated. Turning back, he felt the need to defend himself. "Mom, I don't date around that much
anymore. I'm really just meeting some friends this time."
Natalie nodded absentmindedly. "Sure, sure. I got it. Now, off you go."
She was more interested in getting back to her videos.
Hadwin stared at her. She clearly wasn't listening. Her attitude was downright dismissive.
It was pointless. Natalie was beyond convincing. She would only understand when she saw that he had truly changed.
At the border, dust filled the air.

The sky was stained dark crimson, with blood swirling in the wind.
Everywhere, the bodies of fallen soldiers and dismembered limbs littered the ground alongside the carcasses of battle horses.
The fires raged on, consuming everything in their path.
The air was thick with the stench of blood, so potent that it seemed to seep into the very ground for miles around.
After more than a month of brutal conflict, the battlefield had become a land of the dead.
On top of the fortress wall, a few soldiers still held their ground.
"How
left?
many? We're almost
there hold on! We can defeat.net t few! We'll finish

off!"

There were few soldiers left on the wall, but they still gathered every ounce of strength, pulling their bows, putting down their
defensive weapons, and fighting against the remaining barbarians.
After the last of the barbarians finally fell, one soldier, barely able to stand, forced
himself up.
His face was streaked with tears. He turned
"Weward the city and shouted,
ทัง
! We won! The barbarians
are all dead! I'll go report this to Mr. Atkinson!"
