Holden watched as Javier and Yehoshua silently got up and headed for the second floor. He couldn’t shake the feeling that
something was off. ‘Are they really not planning to visit Elysia?‘ he wondered.
He was about to say something when Edward gently helped Quinita stand. “We’re heading back to our room,” Edward said, his
voice low, “You all should get some rest early,”
Holden felt his dad was deliberately cutting him off. But then he smirked as something occurred to him. Just because his dad and
mom weren’t taking him didn’t mean he couldn’t go on his own.
Just thinking about seeing Elysia tomorrow cheered Holden up. All the gloom vanished in an instant.
He stretched and pushed himself off the couch. As he passed Fabian, he gave him a friendly slap on the shoulder, trying to keep
it light. “Hey, Fabian, you should get some sleep. Staying up late is gonna catch up with you.”
But the second he felt Fabian’s cold, hard stare, he jerked his hand back like he’d just been burned. “Uh, yeah, okay. You should
rest. Goodnight.” He took off upstairs without waiting for a response.
Fabian just sat there, unmoving. He could see it coming a mile away. By tomorrow, he’d probably be the only one left in the
house.
Javier and Yehoshua were quiet, but Fabian could tell they were already scheming. Same old story–act first, explain later. And
Fabian knew Holden was up to something too with that sly grin.

Elysia had just set foot on campus in Sivro the next morning when she caught wind of the latest gossip about Bianca. “Did you
hear?” one girl was saying. “The cops rolled up to the Janssen residence last night and took Bianca away.”
“Whoa, really?” another girl asked, her eyes bugging out.
“Totally. Their house is right next to mine. I saw the whole thing,” the first girl said, her voice buzzing with excitement.

“Did Bianca do something crazy, like murder or arson? Why else would the police be involved?” the second girl wondered out

loud.
Elysia tuned in to every word. She’d figured Bianca would end up with the cops, but she didn’t expect it to happen so fast. ‘Grace
must’ve told everything as soon as she got there. Elysia smirked to herself and headed toward the school building. But as soon
as she walked into Class 6, Ava was right there. “Elysia, did you hear about Bianca?” she blurted out, her voice all anxious.
“I heard some stuff at the school gate,” Elysia mentioned, shrugging it off.
“Isn’t this wild? We’re talking about Bianca. She’s always acted like she’s better than everyone else. Who would’ve thought she’d
end up in a police station? What do you think she did that was so secretive?” Ava asked.
“Hired a hitman,” Elysia said flatly.
Everyone froze, their eyes darting to Elysia. They stared at her, trying to tell if she was joking. But her face was completely
serious, and no matter how hard they looked, there was no sign of a smirk.
They were startled, doubting Bianca could have done that. At 17 or 18, they were still kids. They might be troublemakers, but
hiring a hitman seemed way out of their league. Bianca, the top student and queen bee of Class 1, seemed an unlikely suspect.

The room was quiet until a man finally broke the silence. “Elysia, did Bianca hire someone to kill...”
He let the sentence hang, but everyone knew what he meant. All eyes swiveled to Elysia, holding their breath for her answer.
When she just nodded, the room exploded. People were fuming, their faces reddening with rage.
“Is Bianca even human?” someone shouted. “Elysia was her classmate–how could she be so cold–blooded?”
“Calling her a beast would insult actual animals!” another person chimed in.
“I can’t believe this!” a third voice added. “I’m gonna march down to the police station and ask Bianca straight up–did she lose
her conscience?”

The anger just kept building, one comment more heated than the last.
Ava’s eyes were full of worry. “Elysia, did Bianca hurt you?” she asked, giving her a quick once–over to make sure she was okay.
When she saw Elysia was fine, she let out a sigh of relief.

Elysia just smiled softly. “Bianca trying to hurt me? She’s not exactly the mastermind type,” she said, her tone light but confident.
Before anyone
could say more, the class bell rang, cutting the conversation short.
Everyone reluctantly shuffled back to their seats, their minds still on Bianca’s crazy stunt. No one was paying attention to the
lesson; they were all too distracted.
The teacher noticed the students‘ scattered focus but didn’t say a word. To her, Class 6 was always a wild bunch–nothing new
there.
The lesson dragged on like torture. As soon as the bell finally rang, the students were about to dive back into their chat with
Elysia when Justin appeared at the door. He was here for Elysia again.
The light in the students‘ eyes dimmed as they watched Elysia approach Justin.
“Hey, what’s going on?” Elysia asked, keeping her tone light.
Justin cut right to the chase. “Did I hear right? Bianca got arrested. Did you have something to do with it?”
Elysia’s eyes sharpened, her mind racing. Justin is asking if I had anything to do with Bianca’s thing. Is he trying to stick up for
her? But wait, it doesn’t seem like him.’
She shoved her hands into her pockets and gave a small nod. “Yeah, it’s connected to me.”
Justin’s eyes widened, and his face softened with concern. “Did she hurt you?”
Before Elysia could respond, he added, “Did you get hurt?”
Elysia blinked, taken aback. She hadn’t expected Justin to ask if Bianca had hurt her before she could even explain what
happened.

But the more she thought about it, the more it made sense. Justin’s question sounded more like he was just confirming
something he already knew. He was that sharp–no surprise there.
Justin gave her a quick once–over, his eyes searching for any sign of trouble. He didn’t see anything obvious, but he still felt
uneasy.
He was about to press her again when Elysia piped up, “Come on, Justin. With Bianca’s skills, do you really think she could
hurt me?”
Justin’s expression stayed cool, but there was a flicker of concern in his eyes. “So you’re not hurt?” he asked again, his voice

softer this time.
Elysia couldn’t tell if the wanted to laugh or roll her eyes. She’d said it plain as day, the was fine. But Justin was still hovering
