Chapter 337
Elysia blinked, thrown off by Phoebe’s words. What did she mean I haven’t met many guys? I’ve met plenty, haven’t I she
thought to herself.
Phoebe’s smile stretched wider as she noticed Elysia’s puzzled expression. “Come on, Elysia. Admit it. Is Zane the best- looking
guy you’ve ever seen?”
Elysia shot back quickly. “That’s not true. My brothers are pretty good–looking too.
“Who else besides your brothers?” Phoebe pressed, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.
Elysia paused, thinking it over. She realized that aside from her brothers, Zane was the best–looking guy she’d ever crossed
paths with.
“Come on, Elysia,” Phoebe teased, her smile widening. “I know you too well. Looks are everything to you, but what if you meet
someone even hotter than Zane down the line?”
Elysia just shook her head, not missing a beat. “Why stress about hypotheticals?” she replied. “Life’s too short for that. Gotta live
in the moment.” She saw Phoebe about to argue and quickly cut her off with a raised hand. “Let’s just drop it, okay?”
With a big yawn, she stretched her arms. “Save the weird questions for another day. I’m beat. Night, Phoebe.”
Before Phoebe could respond, Elysia turned and walked away. Phoebe stood there, a sly grin spreading across her face as she
watched Elysia disappear down the hall.
Phoebe saw through Elysia’s break as just an escape from the issue. Her confident facade couldn’t hide her inexperience in
love.
Phoebe didn’t think Zane was bad, but she felt a pang of pity that Elysia didn’t have more romantic stories to share.

Meanwhile, Zane was in his study, legs crossed. He picked up the phone and dialed Barry.

“Mr. Hartley, what can I do for you?” Barry asked.
“How’s the Janssen family doing?” Zane asked, leaning back in his chair.
“Several partners have pulled out of their contracts with the Janssens. Their company’s finances are in shambles. Denzel’s
overwhelmed, and it looks like they’re headed for a full–blown collapse,” replied Barry.

After a pause, Barry added, “Mr. Hartley, should we ease up a bit?”
Zane raised an eyebrow. “Ease up? Why would we do that?”
“Mr. Evans is backing off, giving the Janssens some space,” Barry continued.
Zane shook his head, his tone sharp. “He doesn’t know what happened tonight. We can’t let up on people like them. If Denzel
has a problem, he should look in the mirror for raising a daughter like Bianca. She’s nothing but trouble.”
“Understood, Mr. Hartley,” Barry said.
Zane added, “Since Mr. Evans is cooling it, we’ll turn up the heat. In three days, the Janssen family should be in the dumps. And
ensure Grace stays locked up for good. No early parole.”
“Got it,” Barry replied.

“H–How did this... The book you reading has updated with drama episodes, read it nows After hanging up. Zane leaned back in
his chair, eyes half–closed.
He’d wanted Fabian to know about tonight’s mess just to give the Janssens more trouble. But knowing Elysia Sooit ward Fabian
to worry, he decided to settle the score with the Janssens for both the Evans family and his own
Meanwhile, Fabian just walked into the Evans residence, shaking off the day’s work.
Edward was already there, giving him a puzzled look. “You went to Sivro, right?” he asked, eyebrows raised.
Fabian nodded. “Yeah, I checked out Elysia’s university. Needed to see it for myself?
Edward’s tone turned a bit more serious. “And I heard you sent a lawyer’s letter to the Janssens, What’s that about?

As soon as he mentioned the Janssens, everyone’s attention snapped to Fabian. Holden was quick to jump in. “Fabian, what did
the Janssens do this time? They got under your skin again?”
Fabian shook his head. “It’s not about me. They crossed Elysia,”
The room immediately tensed up. Everyone sat up straighter, their expressions turning serious.
Quinita leaned forward, her eyes wide. “Fabian, seriously, what’s going on? How are the Janssens involved with Elysia?
Holden couldn’t stay put. “Fabian, spill it! What’s going on?” he pressed.
Fabian glanced at the worried faces, then casually flopped onto the couch. He began recounting the rumors Bianca had spread
about Elysia, and the room fell silent.
When he finished, Quinita exploded. “The Janssen family? They’re something. What kind of kid did they raise? She’s a pro at
making up crazy stories!” She slammed her hand on the table so hard that everyone jumped.
Quinita losing her temper was a shocker. She was usually so soft–spoken, and after Evelyn passed, she’d gone super quiet-

hardly ever got mad, let alone yelled.
This was the first time any of them had seen her like this. It was like Elysia’s return had given her a new lease on life.
Edward snapped back to reality and quickly gave Quinita a reassuring pat on the back. “Hey, Quinita, take it easy. If anyone tries
to mess with Elysia, they’ll have to deal with me first.”
He nodded at her, then turned to Fabian, his voice tinged with irritation. “But seriously, Fabian, why didn’t you let us know about
this earlier?”
Fabian just shrugged, looking unruffled. “Why would I? I can handle it myself. Besides, you already cleared Elysia’s name on
Twitter that night. I didn’t think anyone would be stupid enough to spread rumors about her again.”
Everyone exchanged glances, finally realizing why Fabian had posted on Twitter that night. They’d all thought he was just acting
on a whim, but there was clearly more to the story than they’d realized.
Knowing the full story, they felt a mix of anxiety and relief. It was lucky that Fabian had gone to Sivro and discovered the
situation. Elysia likely would have kept it to herself and handled it alone if he hadn’t found out.

Quinita’s fingers dug into Edward’s hand. “We need to go to Sivro and see Elysia,” she said, her voice shaking just a little. She
couldn’t hide how worried she was.
Edward looked at her, seeing the desperation in her eyes. He nodded without hesitation. “We’re going. I need to get to the
bottom of this with the Janssens. They’ve got some explaining to do for how they treated our daughter.”
Holden jumped in, his eyes bright with determination. “I’m going with you, Dad, Mom.”

Chapter 337
Fabian glanced at Holden, his tone flat. “You sure you can handle it? Elysia needs real support. If you can’t stand up to the
Janssens, you’ll just be in the way. Maybe you should stay here.*
Holden bristled. He couldn’t believe Fabian thought he’d be a burden. There was no way he was staying behind.
Holden opened his mouth to argue, but one look at Fabian’s serious expression made him stop cold. He glanced over at Edward,
hoping he might back him up. But he already knew it was a lost cause.
Edward sighed and said, “Holden, your brother’s got a point. You need to stay here and lay low. No need to go looking for
trouble.”
Holden’s shoulders slumped. He couldn’t believe that, to Fabian, tagging along was just a hassle–and even his dad felt the same
way. He wondered if he was really such a pain.
Javier and Yehoshua kept their mouths shut, having learned from Holden’s experience. They knew their parents would never let
them go, so they didn’t even ask.
Fabian hadn’t told them when he went to Sivro, so they figured it was better to just go their own way too.
