Chapter 419
Chapter 419
Dexter frowned instinctively.
Angela's phone wasn't locked, and a message from someone named "Drifting Cloud" appeared on the screen. "Let's meet
tomorrow at 6:00 pm in Azure Club."
After seeing the location, Dexter instantly became nervous. Without hesitation, he picked up the phone and tapped into the
message. Sure enough, "Drifting Cloud" was none other than Austin.
Of all places, why did he have to choose Azure Club? There was no way Dexter would allow Angela to go there.
Angela had become quite fond of handsome men. Whenever she saw a good- looking guy on the street, she would keep
glancing at him.
A couple of times, her colleagues had taken her to Azure Club to see the escorts. Ever since, she'd been obsessed, always
looking for an excuse to go back.
If it weren't for the fact that Callum owned the place, Dexter would've already bought out that indecent establishment and shut it
down.
her from going.
At the very least, he could accompany her. It was far better than allowing her to venture alone into an environment teeming with
temptation.
The next morning, when Angela woke up, Dexter was already up and neatly dressed, sitting on the couch in her room. But
somehow, she was in bed. She distinctly remembered falling asleep on the couch last night.
"You have a message," Dexter reminded her.
Angela quickly grabbed her phone, staring intently at the screen. Austin had finally asked her out.
However, she couldn't help but question why he'd chosen Azure Club. That establishment was certainly not short on escorts,
each a visual delight with perfectly sculpted abs. Some of them were even sports students.
"Austin wants to meet me," she said excitedly.
Dexter narrowed his eyes, a dangerous glint flashing in them. He scoffed. "Go ahead."
Angela didn't notice that his tone
was a bit off and hurriedly drove him out. Then, she rummaged through
her wardrobe and picked out a casual outfit, making herself look sharp and simple. S to'
She contemplated whether she should take a gift for Austin. After all, they hadn't seen each other for so many years.
As the thought flashed through Angela's mind, she immediately made up her mind. Before heading to meet him, she'd stop by
the mall to pick out a gift.
As she was about to leave, she noticed that Dexter hadn't gone to work. He was just sitting leisurely in the living room.
"What's going on? Why haven't you left yet? It's pretty late now," Angela inquired while changing her shoes at the door.
At that moment, Dexter got up from the couch and grabbed his jacket and car key. Then, he walked up behind her without saying
a word.
Angela finally sensed that something was off. When she turned her head, she was met with a pair of cold, emotionless eyes.
She was puzzled why he was moody again. She hadn't even confronted him about leaving her behind yesterday. Yet, here he
was, already giving her attitude.
"I'm going with you." Dexter sighed helplessly.
Seeing Angela's blank expression, he truly felt that she'd shut herself off emotionally. She no longer sensed other people's
feelings or tried to understand their thoughts.
"No need. Azure Club is just nearby. I used to go there often with them," Angela
said casually as she grabbed her bag and headed for the door.
Dexter asked, as if unintentionally, "So, did you think any of them was the most handsome?"
She absentmindedly replied, "Number 18, the one who's six feet tall with perfectly defined abs, and his hands were just..."
Before she could finish her sentence, she suddenly felt a chill run down her back.
