Chapter 2467
Chapter 2467
"Man, I feel terrible. This whole mess I've dragged Robin into." Hugo confessed with a guilt-ridden tone. "I never imagined, after
all these years, some folks would still be clutching at this drama!"
"It's all water under the bridge now!" Sophia said with a casual smile. "Did you catch up with Robin yet?"
"Not yet. Flew in from H City just now. Robin's tied up in a meeting with a client at the hotel here, told me to hang tight and wait."
Hugo smiled. "So, what's keeping you busy these days, Sophia?"
"Jewelry design." Sophia shared.
"Wow, impressive!"
"It's nothing. Seems like we've all been doing pretty well these past years!" After saying this, Sophia's phone rang - it was the
couple she had met earlier. She stood up, "Actually, I'm here meeting a client too. Gotta head back now, but if you're sticking
"Sure thing, I'll extend my stay!" Hugo stood up. "Go do your thing. We'll catch up over the phone!"
After exchanging numbers with Sophia, he watched her head back to her private dining room.
Inside, the girl sported a triumphant, smug look, "Sophia, I've set my heart on that seven-carat diamond. You've got to design it
for me, remember, I want something grand, something that screams my personality!"
Sophia responded with a warm smile, "Of course. And if you have any specific preferences or hobbies, feel free to let me know
anytime."
The girl, buzzing with excitement, shared her list of demands with Sophia.
The man beside her remained silent, looking somewhat displeased, but refrained from making a scene in front of Sophia.
As the meeting wrapped up, the man suggested dinner, but before Sophia could politely decline, the girl quickly interjected,
"Sophia must be swamped with work. How about we invite her to our wedding instead? It'll be more meaningful, don't you think?"
Watching the girl cling to her man as if guarding a treasure, Sophia couldn't help but smile lightly, nodding, "No problem. Here's
to a lifetime of happiness for both of you!"
"Thank you!" The girl beamed, arm in arm with her man.
After saying their goodbyes, Sophia left the hotel.
It was evening by the time Sophia checked her phone and saw a missed call from Jason. She promptly called him back.
"Why didn't you pick up?" Jason asked.
"Was in a meeting with a client. Had my phone on silent." Sophia explained.
"Alright." Jason responded coolly. "Don't bother coming back to the office. Head straight home. I've got a dinner, might be late.
Make sure you eat."
Sitting in her car, Sophia replied with a smile, "Actually, I'm heading to my place. Got some designs to sketch out tonight!"
After a moment's pause, Jason said, "Okay, just don't skip dinner."
"Got it. You too, take care!" Sophia hung up, lingered for a moment, then started her car.
Not long after Sophia left, Robin and Hugo emerged from the elevator, chatting as they walked.
Hugo said, "Guess who I ran into just now?"
"Who?" Robin inquired.
"Sophia!" Hugo beamed. "She's turned out even more stunning than back in school days. And she's a designer now, pretty cool,
huh?"
Robin paused mid-step, "Where is she now?"
