Chapter 2460
Tina hadn't been with us for long. The previous assistant, along with her boyfriend, had moved abroad, paving the way for Tina to
step into her role at the studio.
At first, Tina was a bit stiff and cautious around me, treating me with a mix of respect and fear. But as we got more familiar with
each other, she loosened up and jokes started flying left and right!
Sophia, too, was a fan of this laid-back work vibe.
After Tina took her leave, Sophia tidied up some drafts, glanced at the clock noting she was nine minutes behind schedule, and
stood up to find Jason.
The door was slightly ajar. Without knocking, Sophia pushed it open just a crack and peeked inside.
Jason was on a call, but upon seeing her, his eyes warmed, signaling her to come in with a wave.
Sophia walked in, closed the door behind her, settled on the couch, and picked up a magazine, waiting patiently for him to finish.
Jason, wrapping up his call, said, "Alright, get started on your end. I've got something here, so I'll join you in a few days."
After issuing a few more instructions, he hung up.
Putting his phone aside, he turned his attention towards Sophia.
"Hmm," he hummed in response, removing his glasses and cupping her face to draw her into a tender kiss.
Sophia, on her tiptoes, clutched at his shirt.
The office was enveloped in a quiet warmth, bathed in sunlight that made the moment feel lazy and tender.
The kiss, long and deep, left Sophia breathless. She leaned into him, gasping for air, before managing to ask, "You're going on a
trip?"
"I need to head to the States for a bit. In a few days," Jason replied, holding her close and gently nuzzling her hair.
He was supposed to leave immediately, but finding themselves newly united, he found it hard to part from her so soon.
"Hungry?" He kissed the top of her head before standing and taking her hand. "Let's go get something to eat."
They headed to a diner across the street, chatting over burgers about work, family, and everything in between. Sophia found
herself.
Jason was always there with a response, an echo to her thoughts.

Their comfort with each other was palpable, punctuated by moments that sent their hearts racing. Sophia couldn't help but
wonder, was this what love felt like? fo
The afternoon flew by, and after work, Jason drove them home.
No disappointments, no anxieties, just warmth and fulfillment, even the evening glow on her face felt like a lover's blush.
Jason squeezed her hand. "Come over to my place. I'll cook us something delicious!"
Sophia turned, her short hair catching the light in a beautiful arc, her features bright and youthful. "What's on the menu?"
It was like their school days when Jason would pedal her home on his bike,
hinting at homework and snacks at the Johnson's residence.
Sophia's laughter was infectious as she asked, "Got any treats?"
Jason, serious yet tender, assured, "I've got some. In my bag."
Her laughter bloomed brighter, promising to rush home and wait for him, insisting he not start without her.
Watching her, Jason felt a promise swell in his heart. "Whatever you want to eat, I'll make it for you."
So, before heading to his place, they made a detour to the supermarket for supplies.
They wandered from the fresh
produce to the snack aisle, and as
they passed the personal care
section, a salesgirl approached them
with a new ultra-thin product, pitching its comfort and ease to Sophia.
"What's this?" Sophia reached out curiously.
Jason, picking up tissues, turned to see Sophia examining the box, her face
flushing with realization. In a fluster, she tried to hand it back.
Jason took it from her smoothly, placing it in the cart. "It's okay, let's get it."
