Fine, you know better, the boy thought, finally convinced.

Quinlyn wanted to find him a lawyer to solve the problem professionally. Just as she was looking through her contacts, she
received a call from Claude.
Knowing that she was at the hospital, he came right away with Mandy.
“I had a bad feeling when Mandy told me about it, but I didn’t expect it to really happen. Since Mandy has got involved, I’ll handle
the lawyer thing,” Claude said.
Mandy saw the woman in the ward through the glass, her eyes slowly turning red.
Quinlyn went over and took Mandy’s hand. “I agreed to give money, too, she whispered, suggesting that she had a responsibility,
and they were in this together.
Claude finished the phone call in a few seconds. Seeing that the two children were in low spirits, he patted them on the
shoulders and called them aside.
He began, “Mandy, I didn’t bring you here today to blame you. Helping others is a good thing, and you did nothing wrong. You
and Quinlyn are both good kids–you can see the suffering of others and have kind hearts.
“But today I want to tell you that sometimes good intentions can lead to bad results. So you have to analyze specific problems.
“The poorer the family is, the more likely it is that giving money will not resolve the conflict but will instead exacerbate it. You
have to observe what they really need and then take action.
“If you really don’t understand, just ask the adults. It’s our duty to teach you children.”
Although Claude was a vulgar businessman, he had climbed up from the bottom and knew the world better. He had tried to keep
his daughter sheltered. But after a lesson, he now taught her more carefully, hoping that she could be independent.
He continued, “Quinlyn was right–we need a lawyer. What the boy and his mom need is freedom, a clean break from his father’s
family’s grip. It’s best to use the law to restrain those vultures.”

Quinlyn blushed a little at the compliment. After all, it wasn’t an idea she came up with on the spot, but one she had been
thinking about for two days.
Still, Claude sighed. Every family had its own problems. The kind ones always got trampled on Sometimes, it was family
members who could hurt one the most.
Two days later, the boy’s mother finally woke up, and a wave of relief washed over Quinlyn.
Mandy diligently followed up with the lawyer every day, which put a lot of pressure on him. Within weeks, he’d dragged the boy’s
dad’s family to court and won. Just like that, the boy and his mother were free.
As for the old woman’s amputated leg, since the surveillance camera didn’t capture it, it was treated as an accident. During the
winter break, this little incident served as a lesson.

As Christmas approached, Elowyn began busying herself preparing for the holiday and buying new clothes for the family of four.
“Quinlyn, I see you’re running low on clothes. How about I take you to the mall and buy you some more?” she asked.

Quinlyn stayed silent. She hadn’t even had the chance to remind Elowyn about the entire rack of unworn clothes in her closet
before she was ushered into the car.
Elowyn continued, “A busy year passed, and Cher must be on vacation too. Let’s ask her to join us for some shopping”
Cher, the judge?‘ Quinlyn nodded, expressing her interest.
When they arrived at the mall entrance, Cher was already there waiting for them.
“How do you time it so perfectly? You always get here before me. Is it an occupational hazard?” Elowyn teased as soon as she
got out of the car.

“Just a habit,” Cher smiled and bent down to hand Quinlyn a box of candy. “New flavor. Wanna try it?”
The box was colorful and the candy looked delicious. Quinlyn nodded and looked at Cher, thinking. ‘She’s amazing. She knows
what I like after only meeting me once.’
Elowyn didn’t seem to notice. She continued to chatter as she walked. “You guys are always buying Quinlyn candy. If she ends
up with cavities, none of you are off the hook.”
In the next second, she was distracted by something else. “Hey, that store’s clothes are cute. Let’s go take a look.
Quinlyn and Cher were left behind, walking slowly at the same pace. They carefully observed their surroundings, and
sometimes, even the way they tilted their heads was the same. When they caught each other doing it, they both looked a little
surprised.
Cher smiled, “Well, I admit it’s an occupational hazard. What about you?”
Quinlyn also said honestly, “Habits.”

Cher chuckled. “That’s good. After all, the world is a dangerous place. You have to be careful. What else have you learned?*

Quinlyn glanced up at her, and saw that her eyes steal that girl’s stuff.”
The next second, the guy Quinlyn had pointed out–who’d been tailing a girl–made his move. While the girl in front was asking the
shop assistant questions, he snatched the pendant from her bag. The pendant was attached to a card holder.
In the blink of an eye, the guy succeeded, turned, and disappeared down the escalator.
Cher watched silently and then asked Quinlyn, “Elowyn said you have a strong sense of justice. Why didn’t you stop him when
you saw that?”
“You didn’t chase him either.” Quinlyn looked up at her. “My legs are short. I can’t run fast enough.”

Cher was taken aback for a moment. Then she leaned against the railing and couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re lying,” she said
straight out.

Quinlyn didn’t deny it. She just watched the man leave. At the escalator entrance, he pulled a little boy away from the glass to
prevent him from falling into the gap. Only then did she look
away.
“You saw it too, right? That man is a habitual offender. His methods are very clever, but stealing from that girl was a spur–of-
the–moment decision because she provoked him first,” Cher said.
She led Quinlyn to a nearby chair and sat down, watching Elowyn happily buying clothes in the store.
Then she continued, her voice flat, “He has a milk stain on his shoulder, the same as the milk in the girl’s hand. With their height
difference, it could only have been splashed on him by the girl.

“And the girl had shown him her card holder before, so he targeted the pendant. You saw all this, so guess what happened
between them?”
Quinlyn figured the man had already left the mall, so she no longer hid it. “They had a fight. That girl threw her milk at the man
and showed off her card.”
“Well, how can you be sure it was the girl’s fault and not that the man violated her first? Cher asked.
Quinlyn replied. “That man was splashed with milk and didn’t fight back. Plus, he’s very good at stealing, but he only stole a card
that can be reported lost. He’ll probably throw it in the trash can when he leaves.”
She thought he wouldn’t use or steal from it–he just wanted to teach the girl a lesson.
“Is that your reason for not exposing him?”
“Yeah.”
Hearing her frank admission, Cher couldn’t help but look at her with admiration.

Quinlyn’s name was very famous in the upper class. She had passed herself off as the Anderson family’s heiress. Later, she
became a guest of honor of the Wilson family. Yet, her reputation as a genius was even more resounding.
Cher hadn’t expected Quinlyn to be so smart and meticulous. On top of that, her mental toughness was beyond anything Cher
had ever seen in a child. Even most adults would have a hard time keeping up.
When they were leaving the mall, Cher went to the trash can to throw away a tissue and saw the card case inside. Then she
walked away without doing anything.
It wasn’t until they were about to get in the car that Quinlyn asked, “Aren’t you going to tell the staff?”
Cher gave her a mysterious smile. “Why? Because I’m a judge? But who can say that absolute justice is always a good thing?”
The car slowly started up, and Quinlyn looked out the window. She saw ‘the thief squatting in a nearby alley, feeding some stray
cats. Quinlyn then remembered that he had carried a plastic bag with cat food packaging.
