Helena seemed to read Suzy's thoughts.
"Whether you believe me or not, we need to deal with her first. Anyone bold enough to break in at this hour can't be up to
anything good. Hurry up and take her down!"
Suzy let out a cold laugh. "You really will say anything to protect yourself, won't you?"
"Forget the accusations for now! She's right behind you!" Helena urged. "Hurry!" Suzy bent down, grabbed the gun from the floor,
and aimed it at the woman.
Just as she was about to pull the trigger, the masked figure suddenly flung a handful of white powder toward her and bolted.
Without thinking, Suzy gave chase.
But by the time she reached the hallway, the woman had vanished.
The intruder clearly knew the layout well-no outsider could escape that quickly.
Suzy's eyes narrowed. "Looks like I need to have a real conversation with Helena."
She turned back to the room, where Helena rushed toward her the moment she walked in. "Where is she?"

"Got away."
"She got away?" Helena's face fell.
"How could you let her escape?"
"Isn't her escape exactly what you wanted?" Suzy's lips curled into a faint, mocking smile.
Helena stiffened, catching the derision in Suzy's tone.
"What's that supposed to mean? Are you saying I'm connected to that woman? I already explained that I was asleep and heard a
noise. I don't know anything!
"You've spent days here with me. Haven't you figured out what kind of person I am by now?"

Her voice sharpened with bitterness as she glared at Suzy.
"You know, used to think you were really on bad terms with Evangeline. But after these past few days, Ksee it now
You've been putting on an act whole time.
"You and Evangeline are just fine. You're only here to test me-to see if I'm really done fighting her.
"Let me guess, that woman tonight?
You planted her here. It was all a
setup, fight? Just another trick to
see I've been lying to you. And now you're trying to pin it all on me."

Suzy laughed, the sound sharp and cold.
"Helena, if there were a prize for playing the victim, you'd take the gold. Do you
really think acting clueless in front of me will make me believe you?"
"Acting clueless?" Helena's face twisted with indignation.
"Suzy, believe it or not, I'm telling you the truth. Thave no intention of going against Evangeline anymore. I just wanda peaceful

Suzy stared at the mixture of frustration and anger on Helena's face. Without a word, she pulled her phone from her pocket and
hit play.
The recording filled the room with the voices from earlier the whispered plans, the bitterness, and Helena's own words plotting
Evangeline's downfall.
Helena's eyes went wide.
"This... this can't be real. I was asleep just now. How could I have said any of that? And that woman-I don't even know her!"

"You claim not to know her, and I'm supposed to believe you?" Suzy stepped closer, her voice low and unyielding.
"If you'd kept up the act for a couple more days, maybe you would've fooled me.
"But you thought a bit of knockout powder would be enough to leave me unconscious while you met with your partner. Did you
really think I wouldn't notice?"
"I've told you a hundred times that I don't know anything!" Helena snapped, irritation flashing in her eyes.
"How many times do I have to say it?"
"Your words mean nothing now. Let's see what the facts have to say."
