Awake for Love: My Coma Bridegroom

Chapter 656

Elijah felt a blistering anger flare up within him.
The words “dirty woman” plunged into his heart like a vicious dagger.
In his eyes, Violette was the epitome of purity in this tainted world.
She couldn’t possibly be the woman in that video!
Yet despite his denial, the woman’s voice and face, even the pregnant belly... they all seemed to strike him like a slap across the face.
“Elijah, we’ve known each other for nearly two decades. Do you really think I’d do you wrong?” Brandon saw his painful expression and couldn’t bear
it. “If you don’t trust me, go ask Melinda. She was with me when we stumbled upon it. Do you know why we kept it under wraps? We wanted Violette
to give birth to your baby without any drama... But she crossed the line, making that kind of video!”
“Don’t you think the video’s too blurry?” Elijah’s logic and impulse were tearing him apart from the inside, splitting his heart in two. “It has to be fake!”
Brandon had never seen him like this.
He never feared failure or hardship. They had faced crises before. At its worst, the company was on the brink of bankruptcy, and Elijah was close to

drowning in debt. Yet he never even frowned.
The thought of Violette’s betrayal was something he couldn’t bear.
“Even if the video is fake, what about the moans I heard at the Caesar’s Palace? Are those fake too?” Brandon said with a sarcastic edge, “I checked
with the front desk right then and there. Violette was at the hotel that day. I called her, and her phone was off. She didn’t call me back until the next
day, admitting she went to the hotel!”
Brandon spoke fast. His words were as sharp as knives. “The bed in the video is the Caesar’s Palace’s bed!”
Elijah’s knuckles turned white as he gripped his forehead. He was sinking into a silence filled with endless torment.
A voice in his head urged him to trust her unconditionally.
Another voice screamed at him to let go of illusions and face reality.
He felt himself being torn apart, bit by bit.
Brandon didn’t want to twist the knife, but if he didn’t make Elijah face the truth now, he’d soon find a way to excuse Violette again.

“Elijah, Violette never cared about how you felt. Think about it. Has she ever done anything that won’t benefit her first? She knows exactly how to
control you, and she’s won.”

...
Unable to reach Violette, her friends were panicking.
Odette clutched her phone. Her voice was shaking as she explained to Ramsey, “That can’t be Violette in the video! She went to Caesar’s Palace
because a thief used my phone to lure her there!”
Ramsey responded with skepticism, “Really? Did the thief also trick her into bed? Because she seemed to be enjoying herself in that video!”
“Ramsey! What are you implying?!” Odette’s face flushed with anger. “That woman isn’t Violette!”
“Then who is it? Nora? But Nora’s not pregnant. The woman in the video is clearly pregnant,” Ramsey tried to reason with her. “I don’t want to believe
it’s Violette either, but that voice is unmistakably hers.”
Odette was almost crying. She insisted, “That day, a thief lured Violette to the hotel! They drugged her with something hypnotic. I was with her at the
hospital later that night. Violette didn’t want Elijah to worry, so she asked me to keep it secret!”
Ramsey replied, “I see. That hypnotic drug might also have aphrodisiac effects.”
“... I told you it’s not Violette!” Odette burst into tears.
“Odette, can you be mature for a moment? If you’re so sure it’s not Violette, why are you crying?” Ramsey said calmly, “I can believe her for your
sake, but Elijah won’t because that is Violette!”
An hour later, the scandalous video of Violette was scrubbed from the internet, and any screenshots or related texts were blocked from posting, b
ut this didn’t curb the curiosity of the gossip-hungry public.
“How much did Violette pay to hush this up? Money sure talks!”
