Joey hesitated outside of the office, unsure if he should go in.
He couldn’t bear Elijah’s reaction.
On his way to find Brandon, Brandon emerged from the elevator.
“Brandon, have you seen the news?” Joey awkwardly started, “The news about Violette.”
“What do you think?” Brandon raised his eyebrows in a frown, clearly irritated. “I knew about it a week ago! Why else do you think I was so angry!”
“Brandon, how did you know?” Joey asked, surprised.

“Why don’t you ask Mike?” Brandon replied, “He and Violette are very close. He must know everything!”
Joey was taken aback.
Every time Mike mentioned Violette, he treated her like a little girl who needed protection.
Mike couldn’t possibly be acting in front of him. So Mike definitely didn’t know about Violette’s chaotic private life.
He returned to his office and dialed Mike’s number.
“I know what you’re going to say,” Mike answered the call hastily. “I’ve seen the video. Damn it, that’s definitely not Violette! Violette wouldn’t do that!”
Joey replied sternly, “Nothing is impossible. How do you know what she’s like in private? What if she is like the woman in the video?”
“Damn! What the hell are you talking about! Are you asking for trouble?” Mike was fuming, wishing he could reach through the phone and punch him.
“How can you say that the woman in the video isn’t Violette? I’ve seen the video. Whether it’s her appearance or her voice, it’s clearly Violette.” Joey
sounded pained, “Where is Violette? I want to hear her side of the story.”

“She flew to country B with Rita this morning! She hasn’t even landed yet!” Mike was panting heavily, “That’s not Violette. I’m sure of it. Violette is not
that kind of woman. I trust her! You should too!”

Joey rubbed his forehead in despair. “Is this something that can be resolved just because we believe her? The problem is my boss... he’s going to
find out about this soon. If he doesn’t believe her, then Violette is finished!”
“What do you mean! Even if the woman in the video is Violette, so what? Violette isn’t married to him, so it’s none of his business!” Mike replied
dismissively.
“But Violette is carrying my boss’ child! He definitely won’t let her off the hook. You might as well tell her to stay there and not come back! Wait until
the baby is born!” Joey suggested.
“What nonsense are you talking about! The woman in the video isn’t Violette!” Mike kept repeating this on the other end of the line.
Joey heard some noise from the CEO’s office and hung up the phone.
He walked quickly towards Elijah’s office, pressing his ear against the door to eavesdrop.
Inside the office, Brandon played the video in front of Elijah, forcing him to watch.
“This is the woman you treasure.” Brandon sneered, revealing the truth word by word, “A week ago, I bumped into her at a hotel with another man,
doing... that. I heard her clearly saying that you couldn’t satisfy her in bed, so she’s been looking for men outside.”
Elijah was silent as if someone had pressed the pause button on him.
His body stiffened, and his facial expression was unusually calm, but his eyes were dark and cold.
After a long time, he swallowed hard. His voice was hoarse, “Violette wouldn’t betray me! That’s not her!”
“Wake up! That’s her!” Brandon shattered all his illusions. “You can keep her child, but don’t touch that dirty woman ever again!”
