Chapter 633
“Mr. Warren, seeing Sarah like this breaks my heart. I haven’t had a decent night’s sleep in two days. She’s on the edge, and I don’t want her to step
off.”
Mr. Warren cut to the chase, “You’re afraid of losing your child, aren’t you? You don’t even care about Sarah.”
“I won’t argue with you. But you must also know that Sarah doesn’t care about me either,” Kaleb said solemnly. “Our child is innocent. I’ll take care of
Sarah until she gives birth. Once the baby is born, I’ll give you a sum of money, and you can return to B Country with Sarah. Name your price, and I’ll
do my utmost to meet it, ensuring that you and Sarah never want for anything.”
Mr. Warren didn’t reply immediately. He seemed deep in thought. Sarah, standing inside the hospital room, heard every word they said. She was no
longer a person to them but a commodity.
She had no words for Kaleb, and for her father, she was utterly disappointed!
She groped her way to the bathroom.
Outside the room, after contemplating for a while, Mr. Warren replied to Kaleb, “Kaleb, I won’t deny my love for money, but you’re no Elijah. You can’t
offer a sum that would satisfy me. Once Sarah is discharged, I’ll take her back to B Country, and get her a therapist. When she’s mentally stable, she
can decide if she wants to keep the baby.”
“Sarah is as materialistic as you! When my uncle was begging her, she never paid any attention to me.” Kaleb scoffed, “Don’t blame me for being
heartless towards her. She doesn’t deserve it.”
Mr. Warren’s face turned dark. “My daughter is in this state because of you! Don’t think I don’t know! She lived in your house. How could she
suddenly lose her eyes? Kaleb, you’re cruel, and karma will get you!”
“Heh, you are in no place to challenge me. Even if karma does exist, it’ll hit you first!” Kaleb retorted, and stormed into the hospital room.
Inside the room, Sarah was nowhere to be seen.
“Sarah!” Kaleb bellowed, looking at the empty hospital bed.
Mr. Warren also called out, “Sarah! Where are you hiding? Come out now! Once you’re discharged, Daddy will take you home. We’ll never return to A
Country.”
They searched every corner of the room but found no sign of Sarah.
The balcony window was locked to prevent patients from jumping. Sarah couldn’t have disappeared into thin air. She was still in the room.
“She must be in the bathroom!” Kaleb saw the bathroom door was closed and ran towards it.
He tried the knob, but it was locked. He rushed to get the nursing staff.
Soon, a nurse came with the bathroom key and unlocked the door. Sarah was lying on the floor. Her face and hair were all wet, and the basin was
filled with water.
After the nurse pronounced Sarah drowned, Kaleb hastily retreated and made a swift exit. Sarah was dead. The child in her belly wouldn’t survive
either. This wasn’t the outcome he wanted. He wanted the child.
Who would have thought Sarah wasn’t afraid to die. Since she was dead, it was all over!
In the evening, when Violette heard about Sarah’s suicide, her heart clenched.
