Walter smiled, "Yes, it's me. What's the matter? Are you surprised?"
Mariel slowly backed away from him, his nerves tense, "Walter, what are you going to do? I would advise you not to be so
reckless. Even though there is no one in this alley, the streets at both ends of it are very busy and full of people!"
Walter laughed mockingly, "Do you think I will be afraid? Mariel, you are too ridiculous. Since I dare to appear before you, I am
not afraid of anything!"
At this point, Walter's expression changed, "Do you know what my biggest regret is, Mariel Chase? My biggest regret in life is
that I got involved with you, a conniving woman. If it weren't for you, Lukas Strakovski wouldn't have turned on me. I'd still be at
Cresta Del Bosque. Do you have any idea how many innocent people are suffering as a result of my feud with Lukas? They took
it out on my family, the Simmons family, because they couldn't confront Lukas directly. Our family has been completely in ruins
because of you, Mariel Chase! Does that make you happy?"
Mariel held the phone tightly. She knew the call was still in progress.
She could tell that Walter was risking his life and she was afraid that he was going to kill her. She could only hope that Anthony
would be kind enough to call the police on her behalf after he had listened to the conversation on the phone.
Mariel stepped back as she stalled for time, "Walter, please, let's talk this through. Our engagement was called off because of

Anika Styles, do you remember? I just don't want to come between you two. As for the Cresta Del Bosque, I didn't know it was
that serious. In fact, I didn't even know that Lukas was the owner of Cresta Del Bosque. I didn't expect that from him. You can't
put all the blame on me. If you're interested in getting back into the Cresta Del Bosque, I can help you with that. I'll have Reese
plead your case with Lukas."
Walter's eyes narrowed and he glared at Mariel with anger. "Don't waste your words here. Our family is ruined, and I won't spare
you today. I renounce the Simmons name!"
Saying that he turned to his men and motioned for them to come and seize Mariel.
His henchmen made a swift move toward her.
Mariel hadn't expected that Walter would go to such extremes today to do her harm.
She immediately turned and ran.

She ran a few steps. Then someone caught her and threw her against the wall.
Mariel hit her arm against the wall. She dropped her cell phone to the ground in pain.
Anthony was on the other end of the phone. He had already rushed to the hospital door but heard Mariel's phone hang up.
He called anxiously, "Mariel, what's wrong with you?"
There was no response from the other end of the phone and Anthony ran quickly toward the alley.
As he ran, he dialed 911 to call the police.

On Mariel's side, her cell phone fell to the ground and the screen went black and shattered in an instant. She winced and
clutched at her injured arm, her eyes filled with fear and dread. "Walter, let's not do anything rash. There's still time to negotiate
everything!"
Walter smiled horribly, "Negotiate? Ha! My father is in jail, and my brother and I have gone from wealthy young men to street rats
that everyone spits on overnight. Those who once groveled at our feet now want to trample us. And you still think that there is
still "time to negotiate everything?" Are you fucking kidding me?"
What had happened at Cresta Del Bosque had set off a series of dominoes. They had dragged Walter and the entire Simmons
family down with them. Now, Walter could not wait to tear Mariel to pieces!
Walter stepped closer, grabbed Mariel's hair, and slammed her head against the wall.
Mariel felt her head start to shake for a moment, and she instinctively put her hands up to shield her head.
Walter sneered and said, "Put it in the bag and let's go!"
After Walter finished speaking, someone immediately stepped forward and
knocked Mariel unconscious with the palm of his hand.
Mariel's body fell quietly and someone immediately picked her up and stuffed her into the sack.
As Anthony rushed over, he saw that Walter was leading a group of men to put Mariel in the sack.
Walter had no idea that Mariel had been talking to Anthony on the phone.

When he saw someone coming, he shouted in a loud voice, "Run!"
Two of the men picked Mariel up right away, and the group ran out of the alley.
Anthony chased them out and saw Mariel being put into a van, and these people were already in the car and driving away.
He wasted no time in hailing a cab and instructing the driver, "Follow that van in front of you!
