A deal with the devil

Chapter 155

Chapter 155
Benjamin’s eyes hardened slightly as he glanced at the crowd inside. He paused for a few seconds, then carried Damian in his
arms and walked in. Shirley watched his back, biting her Ep in hesitation, and squeezed in after him.
Sabrina’s lips curved into a shy smile, as if expecting a good show to begin
The moment Benjamin stepped inside, the room went silent and everybody stood. Benjamin headed to the far end of the room
and sat. Shirley quickly took the seat beside him..
The moment Shirley sat, Benjamin’s sharp gaze landed on her. She pretended not to notice and looked away.
Daniel spotted Shirley and greeted her warmly. “Hi, Shirley! I didn’t expect to see you here.”
Shirley’s gaze fell on Daniel, his dimples deepening as he smiled, and she felt a wave of fondness wash over het.

Before she could respond, Benjamin’s deep, cold voice cut through the air. “She won’t be staying in this room for long.”
Shirley froze
Benjamin was clearly trying to embarrass her in front of all these people. However, she had prepared herself for his cruel words.
The women in the room exchanged knowing glances. The rumors were true–Shirley had been kicked out, she wouldn’t be Mrs.
Blackwood for much longer.
Having heard about Shirley’s situation, Daniel looked a little awkward after Benjamin’s sharp words. Quickly changing the
subject, he asked, “What would you like to drink?” Benjamin didn’t bother answering, but Shirley simply replied, “Anything’s fine”
Daniel had someone pour them both a glass of red wine. Then, he grabbed Emily’s hand and walked over. “Ben, this is my
girlfriend, Emily Bennett,” he introduced. Shirley was speechless. Daniel clearly had questionable taste in women.
Benjamin’s gaze landed on Emily’s face
Emily blushed and sweetly said, “Hi, Ben ”
Shirley had no idea what Benjamin was thinking, yet a wave of disgust washed over her. Benjamin shot Emily a cold look and
then turned away, completely ignoring her.

Ersily seemed unfazed. Being Daniel’s girlfriend and the host who had invited everyone to the gathering he arranged, she
naturally saw herself as the center of attention. She looked at Benjamin and asked with concern, “When I came in just now, I saw
Shirley standing outside. Did you two have a fight?”
Emily was clearly signing ignorance. What was she trying to do? Shirley stared at Emilly, unable to recall when she might have
offended her.
The tension in the room was heavy, and Shirley braced herself for another round of Benjamin’s humiliation.
Just then, Benjamin broke the silence, his tone nonchalant. “None of your business.”
In an instant, the blush vanished from Emily’s face, replaced by shock. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Benjamin.
Benjamin’s words were brief yet sharp.
es practically a slap to Emily’s face.
Daniel trying to smooth things over for Emily, stepped in “Emmy, this is ten and Shirley’s private matter. Let’s not get involved,”
he said firmly Emily’s eyes immediately welled up with tears. “I was just trying to be nice. I didn’t mean to pry,” she said pitifully.
Shirley almost Laughed. Emily’s crocodile tears were ridiculous. But given her current situation, she knew it wasn’t the right time
to act so boldly. Benjamin’s voice cut through the air again, colder than ever. “Daniel, keep her away from m
