Chapter 154

Chapter 154
Then photo from Janine appeared on her screen. It showed Shirley crouching outside the gates of Blackwood Manor, with a
suitcase beside her. Behind her, the gates were
The photo, likely taken by someone passing by, had quickly spread among their circle. Bad news traveled fast, and at the
moment, Shirley could only imagine how many people were waiting to see her tall
Janine asked, “Shirley, what did you do? How could Benjamin kick you out? The whole of Elderstone is talking about it. Your
family’s fate is in Benjamin’s hands–you can’t afford to be impulsive like you used to be”
Janine knew Shirley well. She wasn’t one to take things lying down. But Janine didn’t know Shirley had changed. Around
Benjamin, she had always been submissive.
Today, Shirley agreed to sleep in separate rooms because Benjamin suspected her of having ulterior motives. She thought this
was what he wanted. She never expected he would suddenly explode and throw her out without a second thought–that was

heartless
Shirley texted back, “Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing. I know how to calm him down.” No matter what, she couldn’t let herself
be treated this way.
Just as she put her phone away, Shirley saw Sabrina and Elizabeth approaching her. Sabrina pretended to be surprised when
she saw Shirley.
“Shirley, what are you doing out here? What happened to your forehead? Did someone hit you?” Sabrina asked, her voice
dripping with fake concern. “What a bunch of drama queens,” Shirley thought
Shirley elegantly swept her long hair to the side, a cold, alluring smile playing on her lips. “Looks like all the disgusting people
have gathered here tonight,” she said. Sabrina’s smile froze. “What did you say?” she asked, her voice hardening.
Shirley didn’t respond. Her beautiful eyes landed on Elizabeth. “Filthy peasant,” she said, her voice dripping with disdain. “Let’s
hear you say “All hail Your Majesty.” Elizabeth had lost a bet to Shirley. According to their agreement, she had to address Shirley
as “All hail Your Majesty and immediately walk away whenever they met. The smug look on Elizabeth’s face instantly turned
cold. “Shirley, you’ve been thrown out on the street. What gives you the right to be so arrogant?” she snapped. Shirley’s smile
only widened. “Even if I have been, you still have to call me ‘All hail Your Majesty you know better than anyone if I have the right

to be arrogant,” she retorted. Elizabeth remembered how she had been completely crushed in the car race. She gritted her teeth
in fury. “Let’s see how long you can keep this up”
With that, Elizabeth stormed into the private room.
Sabrina walked up to Shirley, glancing at the bandage on her forehead with a smick. “Shirley, what happened to your pretty face?
Did Benjamin do that?”
Shirley’s smile was icy, her eyes cold. “How was your stay at the police station? You’re out so soon. Can’t wait to go back in?”
Just then, the tightly shut door swung open, and Benjamin strode out. He exuded an authoritative aura, drawing attention without
a word. Shirley’s sharp words had clearly reached his eas
Shirley thought Benjamin was about to leave and was getting ready to follow him. Just then, a bodyguard spoke up. “Mr.
Blackwood, Mr. Daniel is in the private room next door. He’d like
ke you to join him.”
Isabelle had three sons. Benjamin was the son of her second son, Harvey, and Daniel was the son of her youngest son, Zack
Daniel and Benjamin had been close since they were
Hearing the bodyguard’s words, Benjamin didn’t respond. Without glancing at Shirley, he walked to the door of the next private
room. The bodyguard opened the door for him. The moment he stepped inside, all eyes were on him.
“Ben! “You’re finally here! Daniel exclaimed, his voice brimming with excitement.
Benjamin had never liked social events like this. When Emily asked Daniel to invite him, Daniel hadn’t expected him to show up
50, Benjamin’s sudden appearance was a complete surprise.
