Chapter 43: A Mess
Jasmine's POV
“ So what are we gonna do now?” I asked Erica, I know that they were busy last night, and they don't have enough sleep but this design and proposal
is very important.
“ I was just wondering. I found something as usual.” The painting at my back wasn't in its proper arrangement near the drawer where we always
placed our plans for our meeting.
“ What do you mean, Ma'am?” Kurt asked with a confused voice. Rhian even looked at me.
“ I do not want to say this, but someone is sabotaging us. I found my painting not in its proper arrangement. I’m also wondering how those files would
be missing together with the files in Rhian’s laptop. Something's not right here,” I told them.
“ Does that mean there is someone in here trying to sabotage our plan?” Jacob uttered and looked at each of them.
“ I can't do that, I am loyal from the start” Kurt said, defending himself.
“ What is even more Interesting in that is the part where my camera didn't catch anything,” I added while looking at them.
“ I know I've been working here for just a year but I couldn't sabotage our work,” Erica said, trying to clear herself.
“ Even me, I can't do that. I can't betray you ma'am Jaz. For years that I've been working here, this is the first time that this happened, “ Ryan said
while trying to fix himself.
“ I'm sorry, guys. This is my fault. If I had only brought my laptop with me, this would not have happened. Even if they get the hard copy, if I have the
file on my laptop, then we don't have any problem now, "Rhian said while looking down at the floor. I could even hear her voice, saying that she
wanted to cry, but she was just forcing herself not to.
“ Do we have other copies of CCTV outside the building?” I asked them Kurt placed his laptop on the table and tried to look for the video of last night
outside the building.
“ I don't find something wrong here ma'am,” he started to look for it. And gave me the laptop.
I tried to rewind it but no one was outside that night. I was about to close the video when, at the end of the clip, I saw a man holding a garbage bag.
I rewind it many times, and he's leaving with that garbage bag, which, as far as I know, is not that heavy.
Rhian came to my back and they followed her.
“ What is that man doing there in the middle of the night?” Erica pointed at the screen. That's also my question.
“ Rhian when you came here, did you observe something?” I asked her and she thought about it for a second.
“ Actually, when I came to my table, my laptop was not in its proper place, though I know that I placed it on the left side of my table, but then when I
came, it was already placed on the right. I thought maybe I just forgot where I really put it, but then when I opened it and checked for the files, it was
already gone. I also went to your office, ma'am, but I couldn't find the hard copies,” she said. I tried to zoom in on the man, but he was wearing a cap
and facemask.
“That means that the man on that video is the one who did all of this?” Jacob said. While watching it, I left the place holding that garbage bag.
“ What is even more interesting with this man, when I checked the CCTV in our office, everything was normal. “ I told them and Rhian covered her
mouth.
“ Which means that man was the one who did it, and he was the reason why we couldn't find any evidence on the CCTV?” She said while I was still in
deep thought.
Who would dare do this to me? I am busy working abroad, and Paul was the one coming here for this business, though I could only meet them
through video call. And sometimes, if Paul couldn't go here, Rhian was the one coming abroad.
“ Ryan and Kurt, find any evidence outside this building or gather evidence on the other building so we can find this man,” I said, and they both

“ Mr. Huston, I'm sorry for not calling you this morning. I also apologize, but we haven't finished the designs. Rest assured that tomorrow morning, we
will set the meeting so we can discuss everything with you,” I said, and I looked at my team.
I know that this day is not enough to do that, but since we are rushing, we have to finish that design by this day.
“ Actually, I changed my mind,” he said. That made me stop. What did he mean?
“ Sir? I'm sorry but-” he cut me off, I was about to ask him about his words.

Chapter 42: Sabotage
“ I'm sorry, Ms. Stewart. Since we agreed that you would be sending me those files, which you failed to do, someone offered me a very good deal,
and I found their designs and proposal very interesting, “ he said and chuckled like he was talking to someone.
How is that possible? Did he just have another meeting with another businessman? But how could he cancel our deal?
“ Mr. Huston, we have a deal. You can't just cancel that easily. “ I told him but he just laughed. That made me pissed off.
“ I'm sorry, Ms. Stewart, but you failed, and I found another company to invest my money in, " he said and ended the call.
I frustratedly threw my phone on the table and stood up while massaging my forehead. Damn it! We made an effort to do that proposal, and now
everything went a mess!
“ Ma'am” Rhian stood up and she looked scared. I look at them and they are worried.
“Mr Huston cancelled his investment. “ I told them and I can see how their faces changed.
“ This is my fault, “ Rhian said while crying. Jacob went beside her to comfort her.
“ I'm sorry Ma'am Jaz, I just didn't know that things would turn out like this,” she said, sobbing. Jacob is caressing her back.
“ He cancelled the deal not just because we were late but also because he found another company that offered him a great deal,” I told them no one
talks while Rhian is still Crying. She knows how important that dream is. Every one of them knows
