Chapter 54
Since Finnian was insistent on buying her something, whether for fairness or just to keep her quiet, Amara decided to accept it.
But honestly, she didn’t really need anything at the moment. However, she did recall hearing Elysia and Keith mention a designer bag they had their
eyes on. So, she found the pictures of those two bags and sent them to Will.
"I want these."
The bags were part of the same collection but in different colors, kind of like a couple's set.
Will was delighted and forwarded the pictures to Finnian, saying, "Mrs. Everly wants the Nuvéla couple's bags; I've already placed the order for her."
Couple's bags? Finnian was a bit taken aback when he saw the matching bags.
Why would Amara want a couple's set? She’d obviously keep the women's bag for herself, but who was the men's bag for? Could it be him?
For some reason, he's actually kinda excited about it.
The next day, somehow Liliana found out about the whole thing. She barged into Amara’s break room, challenging her the moment she stepped
Her laugh was dripping with sarcasm. "You haven't lived with Finn for three years. You don't even know what he likes, Ms. Sullivan. Stop wasting your
time."
Liliana tried to maintain her poised demeanor, but her eyes were filled with intense disdain. She no longer bothered to pretend in front of Amara.
Amara was reading when she heard this and looked up, unceremoniously snapping, "Ms. Porter, if you have a problem, you should get it fixed."
Liliana was momentarily stunned; it seemed like this was the first time Amara had ever insulted her.
Her eyes turned sharp. "What do you mean by that?"
"Exactly what it sounds like."
Amara had never bought Finnian a bag, nor did she plan to. Liliana coming over and saying such things was a testament of her being a basket case.
"Amara."
Under the Veil I Rule
Chapter 53
Liliana was about to retort, but Amara had enough. She really couldn't stand Liliana and didn’t want to share space with her, fearing a repeat of past
incidents.
In the showdown between Liliana and Amara, it was Amara who first dropped the pretense of elegance. She glared at Liliana with undisguised
loathing.
Liliana's triumphant posture faded, apparently infuriated by Amara’s attitude. She said nothing, merely giving Amara a contemptuous glance before
sashaying out.
Once the room was quiet again, Amara returned to her book. That was when Keith showed up. He had come at Amara’s request. She handed him
the bag Will had delivered that morning, saying, "This is for you. I remember you liked it."
Keith was taken aback, unsure why Amara would give him something so expensive. Although he could easily afford it himself, it must have cost
Amara a fortune.
Sensing his confusion, Amara recounted the events of the previous day. Upon learning that Finnian had bought the bag, Keith had an impulse to toss
it out.
But then he quickly realized he couldn't do that. He’d need to flaunt this bag in front of Finnian someday. The thought flashed through his mind so
quickly he almost didn’t catch it.
"Keith," Amara said, seeing he had the bag. "You’ve got a scene to shoot later, right? You should get going."
She’d called him over just to give him the bag, but after getting it, Keith didn’t seem in any rush to leave. He lingered, asking random questions and
making small talk, inexplicably clingy.
