Under the Veil I Rule

Chapter 276

Chapter 276
Seeing the two of them eagerly heading upstairs, Dorian stepped in front of them, his voice firm, "No way!"
He grabbed Elysia's arm, "You're coming home with me!"
Elysia looked at him, clearly annoyed, "Let go of me. I'm just staying over at Ely's for one night. It's not like I'm not coming back.
I'll be home by tomorrow."
"That's not happening," Dorian stated without a hint of compromise. "You've only been married for a bit, and now you're staying
out? Let's deal with this later."
Elysia stared at him incredulously, "Are you from the medieval times or something? Just because I'm married doesn't mean I
can't sleep over somewhere else."
Dorian was momentarily speechless, his face still showing his displeasure.
Just as he was about to continue, his phone rang. He answered it, "Hello?"
"Dorian! Where are you right now? I need your help with something. Can you come over?"
Jessica's urgent voice came through the line. The hallway was quiet, so everyone around, including Elysia and Amara, could

hear it.
Elysia's lips curled into a sardonic smile. She tugged on Amara's arm, "Forget it. Let's just head upstairs."
Amara shot Dorian a disapproving look, noting how he was now fully engrossed in his phone call, seemingly indifferent to the
scene he just caused.
She felt a surge of anger and, holding onto Elysia, turned away without another word.
Behind them, Dorian continued his conversation, not bothering to follow.
Back in the bedroom, Elysia let out a cold laugh, "See? He might seem like he cares a bit more these days, but his top priority is
still over there. That's just how he is."

Amara was also upset, but since Elysia chose to ignore it, she decided to let it go too. "Then let's not pay him any mind. Let them
handle their own mess."
"Exactly, let them deal with it themselves!"
Just then, a notification buzzed-Finnian had sent a message.
Amara, still annoyed by Dorian's behavior after Jessica's call, felt a bit of misplaced anger towards Finnian too. She didn't bother
opening the message.
Shrugging off her coat and tossing it onto a chair, she said, "I'm exhausted from today. Ely, let's take a shower and get some

sleep."
"Sure, Ama, you go first. You should rest as much as you can."
Elysia was always considerate of Amara's pregnancy and wanted her to rest early, so Amara took the hint and headed to the
bathroom with her towel and pajamas.
While Amara was in the shower, Elysia sat down and scrolled through her phone.
She noticed a message from Dorian
sent a couple of minutes ago: "I have something to take care of. Head home early tomorrow. If you need anything, contact my
assistant."
A wave of frustration and resentment washed over Elysia.
So if Jessica needs something, she can call him directly, but Elysia has to go through his assistant?
In that moment, she felt an intense urge to block him entirely.
Letting go of someone is never as easy as it sounds. She had been putting on a
brave face for everyone, but inside, she was far from okay.
Elysia looked out the window, a hint of sadness creeping into her eyes.
"Ah-help-!"

A sudden scream shattered the silence, making Elysia jump to her feet and look towards the source.
The bathroom!
The door was shut, the frosted glass looked murky, and something was thrashing around inside. Smoke was seeping out from
under the door, enough to smell even across the room.
