Under the Veil I Rule

Chapter 259

She stormed over with a fierce determination, her eyes locked onto Amara like a hawk spotting its prey.
Amara couldn’t help but feel a pang of fear, instinctively taking a couple of steps back, unsure of how to handle Liliana’s fury.
In a swift move, Finnian shifted to stand protectively in front of Amara, his eyes fixed on Liliana with a look so intense, it seemed almost palpable.
Liliana halted in front of Finnian, her anger swiftly melting into tears. "Finn, what are you doing? How could you kiss her?" she asked, her voice
trembling with hurt.
Standing behind Finnian's tall frame, Amara was almost completely shielded from view. Yet, just hearing Liliana’s words was enough to make her feel

a deep sense of shame and embarrassment.
Even though Finnian had been the one to initiate the kiss, and technically, she was the victim here, being caught in the act by his actual girlfriend was
mortifying. She wanted nothing more than to disappear.
Sensing that this confrontation was not hers to resolve, she quickly turned and dashed out of the room.
Finnian watched Amara’s retreating figure, something in his gaze suggesting he wanted to follow. As his foot shifted slightly in her direction, Liliana
noticed and immediately grabbed his arm.
“Finn, why?” she pleaded, struggling to comprehend the situation.
Once, on the hotel rooftop, Finnian had kissed Amara out of a misplaced sense of jealousy, thinking she had been unfaithful. That had been
understandable, given the circumstances.

Her lips trembled, lost for words, as Finnian’s expression remained stern. “It’s late, you should head back,” he said flatly.
His words made it clear he had no intention of offering her any explanation.
Not that he owed her one; he’d never promised her anything beyond gratitude for what he mistakenly thought was her rescue. He’d showered her
with gifts but nothing more substantial.
A month ago, she’d approached him with a pregnancy test. Finnian didn’t want the child initially, but her tears had swayed him to agree to co-parent,
and nothing beyond that.

Anger flared within Liliana, so intense she could have screamed. But she knew that wouldn’t serve her purpose. She needed a plan.
Her mind raced, and suddenly, she clutched her stomach and collapsed to the floor, crying out, “Finn, my stomach... it hurts!”
Finnian’s brow furrowed with concern as he scooped her up. “What’s wrong?”

Finnian carried her to her room on the third floor, laying her gently on the bed before urgently calling for a doctor.
