Chapter 29
Chapter 29 Inviting Tiffany to be the Chief Fashion Designer
"Maybe, just maybe, Daddy doesn't have a girlfriend. Have you thought of it?" Barry asked, sounding pretty doubtful.
After living with Leon for so long, Barry knew there hadn't been any other women around his dad.
"No way," Tiffany replied without hesitation.
If there were no women around Leon, then where did the kid he's taking care of come from? Could Leon have adopted a child?
Hearing Tiffany's words, Barry quietly lowered his head. He figured it was best to let Leon clear up these misunderstandings with
Tiffany himself.
When they got back to the hotel, Barry took the chance to go to his room and called Sam.
Sam saw Leon head to the study, so he ran upstairs and locked the door.
"Barry, what's up?" Sam answered the phone, barely catching his breath.
"Sam, Mom's convinced that Dad has another woman. This is a tough one for us." Barry looked downcast as he spoke. He
hadn't expected getting his parents back together would be this hard.
"Don't worry, with me here, we'll sort out all the misunderstandings. Barry, you stick with Mom and see if you can get more info
from her. I'll handle things on Dad's end." Sam laid out the plan confidently.
"Got it, Sam." Barry nodded and hung up.
As he left the bedroom, Flora came over to play chess with him.
Flora's eyes sparkled with admiration. "Sam, you've been beating me these past few days. Teach me how to crack your
strategy."
Barry sat down, slowly analyzing the game with Flora, but he kept glancing towards Tiffany's bedroom, looking distracted.
"Sam, are you thinking about Mom and Dad's situation? I think Dad doesn't like Mom anymore. Maybe we should stop trying to
get them back together and find a new Dad instead. What do you think?" Flora asked, holding a chess piece.
Barry snapped back to reality. "No way! There must be something between Mom and Dad, or we wouldn't be here."
"Sam! Focus! Help me with this game."
"Oh, Flora, don't think like that again."
In the bedroom, Tiffany had just gotten a call from her manager, who told her the guy at the police station had confessed.
The manager said the guy initially refused to talk, claiming he hadn't lied and that the building was cursed because of a death.
The police checked the guy's gambling IOUS, his accounts, and his wife's divorce papers. They even went to his ex-wife's house
to question her. They found out the guy was a gambler who often owed debts. Someone from the Larson Corporation had paid
him to cause trouble when the building went on sale.
But in the end, they only managed to implicate a minor accountant from the Larson Corporation.
Even though the Larson Corporation wasn't as big as the Cooper Group, it was still related to a prominent family in Harmony
City, and they covered their tracks well.
The manager called Tiffany to share the good news. The building's sales had gone up significantly after the guy's disruption.
Of course, Tiffany's hard work played a big part, so she'd be getting some extra bonuses.
"Miss Grey, that's all I have to report. I also need to inform Mr. Cooper, so I won't take up any more of your time." The manager
hung up politely.
Tiffany turned off her phone screen, thinking about the Larson Corporation. She remembered that before she went overseas, the
Larson Corporation was just starting out, with only a few small companies interested in partnering. They had even tried to reach
out to Leon, but he had flatly turned them down.
Tiffany also remembered that she had once saved someone from the Larson Corporation on the roadside. The guy had drunk so
much at a business banquet that he had a stomach hemorrhage, and Tiffany had called an ambulance for him.

She hadn't expected that in just five years, the Larson Corporation had grown from a small group to one capable of competing
with the Cooper Group. The investors behind must be extraordinary.
Tiffany let out a long sigh. As long as the building issue was resolved, she didn't care about the rest.
Suddenly, her phone rang, and Tiffany looked at the unfamiliar number, feeling puzzled.
"Hello, Miss Grey," a polite voice came from the other end of the phone, "this is Vertex Holdings Group. I'm Grant Wall, Mr.
Cooper's assistant. We'd like to invite you to be our company's chief fashion designer. Are you interested?"
Vertex Holdings Group? Tiffany's eyes flickered, and her fingers tightened around the phone. This was Leon's company. So, was
Grant calling her at Leon's behest?
With so many designers in the country, why did they specifically choose her? This couldn't be a coincidence. What was Leon's
scheme this time?
pay with Mr. Cooper, but it won't be less than ten million dollars."
Ten million dollars? Tiffany's lips curled into a smile. The offer was indeed tempting. Leon had always been generous, and she
couldn't find a reason to refuse. But the thought of working with Leon made her scalp tingle and her whole body uncomfortable.
"Can I think about it?" Tiffany asked.
"Of course. We look forward to your response. If you decide, you can come to the company tomorrow to sign the contract. I'll
send you the address shortly." After speaking, Grant hung up the phone.
Tiffany stared at her phone, deep in thought. Her primary goal in returning to the country was to find her second child. But for
now, she also wanted to stay in Harmony City for Sam and Flora to receive a better education.
She had bought a house before returning, and once it was cleaned, they could move
in. She had also considered opening a fashion studio. If she collaborated with Leon and got the money, it would be the first
investment for her studio.

With that thought, Tiffany made up her mind and agreed to the collaboration. After all, who would turn down money?
Especially when it was Leon's money. She would take it! She had chosen to leave the marriage with nothing, and now she
regretted it.
Grant sent her the address at that moment.
Grant: [Miss Grey, Mr. Cooper will be waiting for you at the company tomorrow.]
Tiffany took a deep breath, feeling inexplicably nervous.
At that moment, there was a knock on her bedroom door. She got up to open it and
saw Flora and "Sam" standing outside, both of them staring at her intently. "What's up, my darlings?" Tiffany squatted down,
kissed Flora's cheek, and pinched "Sam's" chubby face.
"Mommy, Sam said he wants to eat your ribs! Can you make them now?" Flora tugged at Tiffany's clothes, acting cute and
coquettish.
Tiffany rubbed their little heads, her eyes full of affection. "Looks like my babies are craving something delicious again."
"Because Mommy makes the best food," Barry answered seriously.
Barry was actually worried that if Tiffany and Leon didn't reconcile, he would have to
go back to Leon. Then, it would be hard for him to eat Tiffany's cooking again.
"Alright, Mommy will cook now. Does anyone want to help?"
"Me, me, me!" Flora jumped around like a little bunny, her eyes smiling.
The three of them went into the kitchen together, and soon the kitchen was filled with laughter.
