Chapter 314
Chapter 0314
Lottie's POV
The tension thickened, the dim light casting long shadows along the tunnel walls. My captor-Sebastian-looked as though he was
teetering on the edge of an explosion while Astaroth remained infuriatingly composed.
Fluffy was ever-present at my side, her head nudging at my hand that rested protectively on my stomach. I half-smiled down at
her, almost sure I heard her grumble contentedly. The gentle pressure of her nudge seemed to reassure not just me but the little
ones growing inside me. Despite the cuffs suppressing my abilities, a spark of determination ignited within me.
"Very well," Sebastian relented, drawing my attention back to him. "But are you sure you're ready for the truth?"
"I can handle it," I nodded firmly. I was tired of people underestimating me and treating me like a fragile doll that needed constant
protection. Every challenge, every obstacle-I had faced them all and come out stronger. This was no different. I was a Lycan heir,
and it was time I embraced that legacy fully.
He stepped closer, his gaze piercing, but Fluffy was quicker. She lunged in front of me, her teeth bared in a fierce snarl, drool
flying onto Sebastian's shoes. His eyes widened in shock, stumbling back a step. It was almost comical-the mighty Sebastian
recoiling from a creature he considered beneath him. But what caught my attention was the realisation flickering across
Astaroth's face. Fluffy was his pet, yet here she was, defending me with a ferocity that defied her loyalty to him.
"Now, now, Fluffy," Astaroth warned as he too stepped closer. But Fluffy spun around, snarling at her master with equal menace.
"Hey. No," he admonished, his voice sharp as he scolded her like a disobedient dog. Fluffy's growl deepened, her stance
unwavering. Astaroth's eyes narrowed, a mixture of irritation and intrigue playing across his features. "Interesting," he muttered
under his breath. As the exchange between Astaroth and Fluffy escalated, Sebastian and I stood momentarily forgotten. I
watched them, fascinated by the unexpected turn of events. Fluffy's defiance seemed to unsettle Astaroth, and that alone was
worth noting.
toward him. A gasp escaped my lips as I stumbled, the sudden movement catching me off guard. But Fluffy was faster than
either of us anticipated. In a blur of motion, she lunged backwards, her teeth snapping ferociously as she gripped Sebastian's
other arm. Her powerful jaws tore into his shoulder, the sickening sound of flesh tearing echoing through the tunnel.
Sebastian screamed a raw, guttural sound that sent a shiver down my spine. He was pulled to the ground, and I almost went
down with him. But Fluffy, displaying an almost uncanny intelligence, manoeuvred her body to support me, her hindquarters
pressing against me to keep me upright, forcing Sebastian to let go.
"Fuck." I groaned as I steadied myself against the rough, damp wall, my heart pounding in my chest as the alarm for my pups
dulled a little.
The reality of the situation settled in. Here I was, in a dark tunnel, with a demon lord and his pet, a treacherous captor at my feet,
and cuffs that suppressed my abilities. Yet, despite it all, I felt a sense of control I hadn't experienced before.
Sebastian writhed on the floor, his screams echoing as Fluffy held him down, her iron grip unrelenting. Blood pooled beneath
them, the metallic scent mingling with the dampness of the tunnel. Her teeth pierced his skin, cracking bone and rendering him
helpless.
I stepped forward, my gaze cold as I looked down at him. Resting my foot against his throat, I applied just enough pressure to
cut off his air.
"Tell me, or I will let her finish you," I demanded, my voice steady. His free hand slapped weakly at my leg, his eyes wide with
fear.
He tried to speak but only choked gasps escaped his lips. Desperation filled his eyes, but I remained unmoved.
"You think you can threaten me?" he wheezed, his voice barely audible. "You're nothing without your protectors."
"Maybe," I replied coolly, pressing my foot a little harder. "But right now, you're the one on the ground, and I'm the one deciding
your fate." "You'll regret this," he spat, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth. "They'll come for you. You can't escape what's
planned." "Oh? And who are 'they'? Who else is involved in this little scheme of yours?" I arched a brow as he glared up at me,
"Or shall I guess?" I laughed softly
when he dug his nails into my leg in
a futile attempt to hurt me. Pain shot up my leg, sharp and searing, but refused to show any sign of weakness. With the cuffs on,
couldn't heal or draw strength from
Sage, my wolf, but I wouldn't let that
stop me.
A piercing scream tore from his throat as Fluffy bit down harder, blood splattering the floor, his face, and even me. Warm droplets
dotted my skin, but I didn't flinch.
"I see you can still make noise despite my foot being there, so if you wanted to speak, you would have," I shrugged, removing
my foot and stepping back slowly.
"My guess is you're petty, jealous, and desperate," I continued, watching as he gasped for air, coughing and sputtering. "You
thought you could control me, manipulate me for your own gain. But you were wrong."
"You have no idea what's coming," he rasped, his voice filled with spite. "You're a pawn in a game far bigger than you can
imagine." I leaned in slightly, my eyes glowing with anger.
"Then enlighten me," I challenged. "Tell me what's 'coming' so I can be properly terrified."
"Even if I did, it wouldn't change anything. Your fate is sealed." He sneered, a twisted grin forming despite his pain. I felt a surge
of anger for a moment, letting my emotions get the better of me.
"Enough with the cryptic nonsense," I
snapped. "Either speak plainly or accept your end." I felt a sharp sting where his nails had broken my skin. Glancing down, I saw
the torn skin and the thick lines of blood oozing from the deep scratches. The pain was real, but I pushed it aside. I wouldn't give
him the satisfaction of seeing me hurt.
Turning, I caught Fluffy's gaze. Her eyes held a fierce loyalty, an unspoken understanding passing between us. I smiled at her,
gratitude swelling in my chest. She had chosen to protect me, defying even her master.
"Good girl." I whispered. The words
reminded me of Kane and Knox and the love we shared; as the memories danced across my mind, a new strength grew, a
determination to see them again.. to be with my mates again! To end this charade...
Because somehow I knew that that was exactly what we always are and always were....mates!
