The Girlboss Begs For Remarriage

Chapter 2673

Jada should know that aside from paying from property damages, there should also be additional reimbursement to ease the civilians' tormented souls.

So how did this happen?

It seemed that water really ran deep around here!

Frank then beckoned at Jada, who ordered to have a path cleared for her.

She then squeezed through the mob, shaking them off to reach Frank, who was naked. "What the hell is going on here?"

Jada sighed. "We came to an agreement yesterday regarding compensation, but

a fifth of them suddenly changed their minds overnight and demanded several times more. Don't you think that's just disgusting?"

"Twenty percent?"

Frank frowned-twenty percent was not much, but it was still a sizable variable.

Still, it struck him. "Someone must be inciting them, it seems!"

Jada nodded. "That's why I asked for your help-they had no idea you're involved, so it'd be easier for you to investigate!"

"Yeah."

Frank started to turn and leave. "Watch out. I sense that some other plot is afoot --it's not just about demanding more compensation."

Jada smiled. "Don't worry about me-I wouldn't have asked for your help if I didn't consider that fact."

Frank then worked his way around the mob, sliding among them before shouting, "Pay up! Pay up! Pay up!"

As everyone turned to look at him and clearly did not recognize his face, Frank chuckled. "I'm sure you don't know, but I'm an owner here too. You probably wouldn't remember this mug since I don't come often."

Since the street consisted of commercial buildings that often changed hands, even neighbors of the same street might not really be acquainted with each other. It was perfectly normal to see an unfamiliar face like Frank, and it was not suspicious at all, so they started chanting alongside Frank.

As for Jada, she remained silent no matter how the mob yelled, but she was not about to compromise with them either.

It was not as if she lacked money-in fact, she was fighting for justice, not for money.

Moreover, Jada had thought of how he should deal with them, with swiftness and purpose once Frank was done.

In the afternoon, the mob sat on the ground directly and feasted on simple lunch boxes.

After all, they were all concerned that Jada would bail.

Frank remained among the mob, munching on food while asking geezer named Jeeves who sat beside him, "Would they really give in just because we keep yelling?"

"I mean, sure it might be possible if it's just us, but there are plenty of others. And if they pay us, they'd have to pay them too... And the broad doesn't look like she can afford it."

Jeeves chuckled. "We don't care if they pay up, actually, as long as they don't buy the street."

Frank was immediately interested. "So you're saying that there's secrets hidden in this street?"

Jeeves frowned. "You're not local, are you?"

"Well, it'd be trouble if you knew everything. In the distant past, this street was-"

Before Jeeves could finish, a man appeared in the distance.

The mob, including Jeeves, hurried to his side right away.

"Lassie, how did it go?" someone asked urgently. "Have you found it yet?"

"Who's Lassie?!"

Lassie growled coolly. "How many times have I told you-it's Mr. Ziberg to you!"
