Chapter 402
Chapter 402
No matter how reluctant BeefyBite's husband was, the entire group made their way to the attic in the end.
This place was in a high-end area. The building had one housing unit per floor, and they all shared a common elevator. Nobody
was allowed to go up to the top floor except the owners of the top-floor unit, hence the attic had always only been used by
BeefyBite's husband. They arrived at the door to the attic. The doors and windows were tightly shut, but a faint smell of smoke
still seeped out from inside. It was the same scent that BeefyBite had smelled on her husband before.
He had claimed that he got that smell on him from burning shoes, but...
She glanced at her husband, then used the attic key to open the door. As soon as the door was opened, everyone was shocked
by the scene they saw.
Drawn right in the middle of the small attic was a diagram, and in the middle of that diagram was a pair of red high heels. But
what was more terrifying was the plaque above it. Shockingly, BeefyBite's real name was written on it. "What is this?" asked
BeefyBite.
There were various banners hung up on the walls of this cramped space. Two white candles burned steadily in the middle of the
room.
"What is this?" she repeated, pointing at the table upon which the plaque with her name on it was placed. "I'm asking you what
this is."
Her husband quickly explained, "I asked a mystic arts expert to perform a divination for you. He said this was the only way to
make the malevolent ghost haunting you leave."
BeefyBite no longer trusted him and questioned suspiciously, "Is he telling the truth, Ms. Locke?"
"This is a fate-swapping formation," Madison replied. "You'll be able to find your horoscope under that plaque. The horoscope
and name of the person whose fate you're replacing should also be there."
BeefyBite immediately rushed over and picked up the plaque. As expected, there was a piece of white paper under it, upon
which was written two names. After reading one of the names of the paper, she was shocked.
"Isn't this the name of that woman who wants to buy my house? Why would her name be here?" she questioned her husband
with the paper in her hand.
Her husband's expression was
าวน
extremely unpleasant, and he had a hardened gaze. However, he also looked helpless. When BeefyBite saw the look in his
eyes, her heart seemed to skip a beat, and she instantly understood why Madison had asked her to call her parents and friends.
If she had exposed him alone, without her parents and friends by her side, then maybe she might have...
Her parents, too, quickly grasped the situation once they saw everything.
BeefyBite's father stepped forward angrily. "You actually wanted to kill my daughter, you bastard! You call yourself a human?"
Seeing as the situation had already escalated to this point, BeefyBite's husband decided to simply drop all forms of pretense. He
shoved his parents-in-law aside and sneered, saying, "I have no idea what you're saying. How exactly have I harmed her?" His
parents-in-law pointed toward the plaque. "Ms. Locke said that this is a fate-swapping formation."
BeefyBite's husband said blandly,
"How would know? I was just messing around. Don't tell me you want to Kave me sentenced through this? There's no law in the
country that allow you to do that! In fact, no such law exists in the world
"You bastard!" yelled one of BeefyBite's friends, already so angry at what he said that she wanted nothing more than to rush over
and beat him to death.
However, BeefyBite's husband then said, "Just try and hit me. We're being livestreamed right now, so if you so much as touch
me, I'll be able to report you to the police." BeefyBite simply felt that the man in front of her seemed like a complete stranger to
her.
"Why?" she asked. "What's your relationship with this woman for you to want to kill me just for her sake?"
Her husband looked coldly at her as
he replied, "We're hardly related. She has her eyes on your house and is willing to pay for it while I want to
sell it to her. That's all there is to it."
en
She didn't believe him at all.
Looking at Madison, she said, "I'd like to know exactly what his reason is, Ms. Locke."
