The Forgotten Girl Is Back For Revenge

Chapter 198

Chapter 198
Owen’s face was clouded with frustration, clearly showing his annoyance.
Hailey sat beside him, dressed in matching pink bear–themed pajamas. They were wearing couple’s sleepwear, a small comfort
in an otherwise tense atmosphere.
Owen was not pleased. He kept his head down, his phone blasting with the sound of gunfire from a shooting game he’d gotten
hooked on during his time in the hospital. The game had become his new obsession
In the past, Owen had been all about making money, but now, all he wanted was to take it easy.

He had enough wealth to live comfortably, and all he wanted was a simple life–spending every day with the person he loved in a
small house, doing whatever they wanted without anyone disturbing them. It felt like the world only had the two of them in it.
The sound of the game’s gunshots echoed as he lost a round,
Owen sighed and turned off his phone, looking at Hailey. “So, are you coming with me?” he asked.
“I can’t leave, Owen. My work is here.” Hailey furrowed her brow, trying to explain.
Owen’s expression darkened. “Then I won’t leave. I’ll stay here with you.”
Hailey raised an eyebrow. “What about the company?” Richard quietly asked, standing nearby.
“I’ll find someone to cover for me,” Owen replied, dismissing the concern.
“But we have several major projects coming up in the second half of the year. You’re needed to handle them, Richard pressed.
Owen’s face grew
darker.

Richard wisely fell silent.
Hailey chuckled softly. “Owen, it’s not like we can’t meet again. Why are you being so clingy?”
Owen turned his head slightly, his gaze intense and serious. “Because I don’t want to be apart from you for even a second.”
Hailey froze, her smile fading slightly as her heart clenched.
“We’ve been apart for five years,” Owen murmured, his voice low.

The words hit Hailey like a physical blow, and a wave of pain spread through her chest.
Those five years of separation, they were behind them now, but it didn’t make the ache any easier.
They had learned to appreciate each other more, to understand the depth of their love, and to hold each other a little tighter.
She swallowed hard, trying to keep her composure. “I’m sorry, Owen. I made you wait for so long,” she s cracking.
After everything, after so many years, it was amazing that they could still be together.
fily, her voice
In her previous life, Hailey had always kept her guard up, never fully trusting anyone. Even when she decided to give her heart to
someone, she subconsciously kept a part of herself in reserve, just in case. But Owen, he had given himself to her without
holding anything back.

Chapter 198
It wasn’t easy for Hailey to be as open as he was, but she would give him everything she had
Maybe one day, when they were married and in their forties or fifties, she would finally be able to give herself completely to him,
without holding anything back..
Two days later, Hailey handed in her resignation.
She chose to quit her job and move back to Hallon City with Owen. He had risked his life for her, so resigning from her job didn’t
seem like much.

And she was still young. She had the freedom to be impulsive. Unlike most people who had to stick to the same routine for
survival, she had the luxury of pursuing her dreams.
Her dream wasn’t in translation work. It was something far more personal.
“Owen, once we’re back in Hallon City, I’m going to start writing again. This time, I want to write our story, Hailey said, her voice
full of determination.
“I’ll support you in whatever you do,” Owen replied, his words warm and reassuring-
They embraced, and as they got off the plane, the setting sun bathed them in a golden glow, as though their love was shining
brighter than ever.
“She’s back in Wothaland. I saw her at the airport,” Selena said, her voice cold and harsh.
Dressed in a black trench coat with sunglasses on, Selena exuded a sense of authority. “This time, I won’t let her off.”
The person on the other end of the line was silent for a moment before responding. “What are you planning to do? We can’t

afford to mess with Owen.”
“Who cares about Owen?” Selena sneered. “I’m ready to do whatever it takes. They won’t be able to stop us.”
“I don’t want to die,” Mateo’s voice was laced with fear. “I just want to live.”
“I know,” Selena said, her tone lightening slightly. “But do you think you have any way out now? You were the star student back
in school, but now look at you–working as a grocery store clerk. No company in Wothaland will hire you. Is this really the life you
want?”
Mateo fell silent, before murmuring, “I don’t want this.”
“But you also don’t want to die, do you?” Selena continued, her voice turning icy. “Let’s cooperate, Mateo. I want Hailey’s life,
and you want the Calhoun Group. It’s a perfect partnership.”
Mateo hesitated, but the temptation was too strong. “I agree to work with you.”
Selena’s lips curled into a cruel smile. “Good. We’ll meet soon. How about the pasta shop across from the school?”

“Okay,” Mateo agreed.

Selena arrived early at the pasta shop. She was still dressed in designer clothes, though they were nowhere near the top–tier
luxury items she once wore.
Ever since Aiden and Rose’s deaths, her life had taken a nosedive. She wasn’t even Aiden’s biological daughter–Rose had
married into the Dalton family, and now, with both of them gone, she was left to fend for herself.

The Dalton family barely gave her anything, and she had to scrape by on just 3,000 dollars a month. She could barely afford to
go out, let alone buy luxury goods.
Going from riches to rags was hard enough, but trying to go back up again seemed impossible.
Selena had once lived the life of a spoiled princess, so the sudden fall from grace was unbearable. But when life pushed her to
the edge, she knew she would do whatever it took to survive.
She had reached out to her old contacts, and by some miracle, a company had agreed to help her make a comeback. They even
paid for her to undergo plastic surgery and trained her to relaunch her career.
Now, unless someone knew her well, they wouldn’t even recognize the new version of Selena.
Sitting at the window of the pasta shop, she took a slow sip of coffee, her mind already set. This time, she would take everything
back.
