“Nick, how do I look?” Charlotte twirled around as she descended the stairs. Alpha Nick squinted as he took in her
form. The backless black mini dress was distasteful to him, as he had never seen Sheila wear something so
revealing throughout their contract marriage.
“Gorgeous, but where is the rest of the dress? It stops above your knees, the back is not there, and your cleavage is
also exposed,” he analyzed unapprovingly.
Charlotte planned to be the star of the party and did not want to change the dress. Besides, she was going to a party in
the club, not a wedding in a church or a Luna’s coronation in a pack auditorium.
“The party is being held in the club. It’s inappropriate to wear anything longer than this.”

Alpha Nick had never stepped foot in the club, so how could he know what goes on there? However, he had
attended parties of Alphas, though he never liked the noise.
“I’m ready,” Beta Dustin said behind Charlotte as Alpha Nick frowned a little. Rising from the sofa he sat in, he
made a declaration.-
“You know what, I will take her myself.
Initially, he had arranged with Beta Dustin to escort Charlotte for safety reasons, but after seeing what she was wearing,
he changed his mind.
Beta Dustin was displeased, as he wanted to wind down from all the strenuous pack responsibilities. “Then let
me tag along.”
Alpha Nick, having no intention to go with b*dyguards, felt like having a private time with his mate. Since she

returned, he had never tried to get intimate with her because of how she never allowed him before.
This time, she had shown interest, but he wanted to keep his distance until the divorce was complete. As for tonight, they could
spend some time together.
“Who would watch over the pack if you tag along?” Alpha Nick asked in annoyance. Beta Dustin resigned.
“Alright, have fun.”

Charlotte was excited, as she had been waiting for the opportunity to show off Alpha Nick. Being mated to the strongest Alpha in
North America, she could not control her joy.
What made her leave before? All she could say was love was blind. Now she was back to be the Luna she was destined to be.
“Thanks for coming along, Nick. I can’t wait for you to meet my friends.”
Alpha Nick pursed his lips, but not a sound came out. Arriving at the club, Alpha Nick did not like the environment as he hated
noise. The only noise he couldn’t resist was the noise of war.
His eardrums were a

Charlotte’s voice was over the music as she began to greet her friends. “This is my mate, Alpha Nick.”
A bevy of girls flooded enviously around Charlotte and Alpha Nick. “Wow, he’s so hot.” One of them tried to touch his biceps, he
frowned and took a step back.

Women annoyed him so much, and as a clean freak, he feared their touch would make him dirty. After all, he had
no idea what those hands had touched before getting there.
Alpha Nick saw a few Alphas and wanted to escape from the girls to join their company when Beatrice pulled
Charlotte aside.
“Isn’t that the woman who stole your man?”
She pointed in the direction where Sheila was dancing with her brother and was thrilled by Charlotte’s dark expression. Sheila
looked so hot, and every man had their eyes glued on her.
They were just waiting for Beta Gustav to get busy with anything else for them to use the opportunity to attack like the ravening
wolf they were.
As they talked over the music, Alpha Nick had heard and seeing Sheila dancing with another man, something he had never felt
before began to move inside his chest.
Coupled with the dress she wore, his teeth ground together, and he stormed in their direction.
Charlotte and Beatrice were shocked. “What is he going to do?” Beatrice asked Charlotte. The latter was

speechless. Her heart felt uneasy as she couldn’t do anything to Sheila in Alpha Nick’s presence.
Her good girl image had to be well maintained until she became the Luna of the Dark Moon Pack. At this juncture, she could only
play the victim to win the sympathy of all others.
“I don’t know, but they are yet to finalize the divorce. I guess he feels insulted because she is still his wife.”

Anger laced Charlotte’s voice as she tried to control her envy, but it was so subtle and hardly noticeable. Alpha Nick had not
even considered her presence by informing her before storming away to his ex–contract Luna.
“Did you see the fire in his eyes? Are you sure he doesn’t feel anything for her?” Beatrice was worried for her friend,
also trying to add fuel to her injury. If the party was ruined because of this, Sheila would be labeled as a homewrecker
and a whore.
Her brother would no longer be interested in her. As her disdain for Sheila increased, she couldn’t help being happy
that Sheila would not be a part of her brother’s life anymore.
“Trust me, there is nothing between them,” Charlotte tried to maintain her good girl façade, as if she was protecting
Alpha Nick’s image.
However, Beatrice was a woman desperate for a man who didn’t love her, and seeing Alpha Nick, he didn’t look like a
man who didn’t feel anything for his ex–wife. Maybe Charlotte was just too open–minded.
“If that is the case, then we shouldn’t be worried, right?”
Charlotte had tears in her eyes when she saw what was happening in front of her eyes, and Beatrice was running to her
big brother’s side, not expecting him to be a victim of Alpha Nick’s brutality.
Sheila only felt the strong arm wrapped protectively around her, the familiar scent of his cologne assaulting her senses.
It couldn’t be Alpha Nick, right? This was the first time she was this close to him, his well–defined features making him
look as if he just walked out of a fashion magazine.
The only time Sheila saw him holding someone this close was when he was trying to protect Charlotte from her.
Beta Gustav was upset. Under the disco lights, he hadn’t made out that the person who took his woman was Alpha
Nick.
“Hey, leave her alone,” he raged, about to snatch Sheila from him when out of nowhere, a punch came into contact with
his face, and he couldn’t stand the impact, falling flat on his face.

His sister was by his side, helping him up as the incident attracted the attention of other Alphas and guests at the party.
The music was still bustling, so some people were still dancing, not knowing what was going on. It was just those close
to the scene.
Sheila was trying to wiggle out of Alpha Nick’s arms, and Goldie saw what was happening too late. The furious Alpha
Nick dragged Sheila with him, not giving her a breather by how tightly he held her to his chest. Not even Charlotte’s
melodious voice could stop him.
“Nick, what is going on?”
She was trying to catch up to him, but her high heels made it difficult. It was as if Alpha Nick was possessed by his
beast, and no one could stop him. As Sheila was making things difficult for him, she was swiftly lifted into his arms, her
breath stopping with his action.
