With that, she took Sofia’s hand and placed the tickets in it.
Stunned, Sofia stared at Corynn and muttered, “This...”
“The people you will be traveling with are also people who love to paint just like you. I am very sure that you will have a
wholesome experience with them. You shouldn’t worry about money, okay? I have handled everything. Just don’t hesitate to
have fun,” Corynn said and handed Sofia a credit card before concluding, “Your birthday is the PIN.”
Trembling, Sofia’s eyes welled up with tears again and she hugged Corynn tightly.
“Don’t let what had happened hold you back. Have fun and enjoy life,” Corynn said soothingly.
Choking back her tears, Sofia replied, “Alright, I promise to send you everything that I paint!”
Early the next morning, Corynn drove Sofia to the airport.
After she saw Sofia off, she returned to her car and left for work.
On the way, Corynn heard a sudden loud bang that seemed to have come from under the car and instinctively eturned the
steering wheel sharply while simultaneously hitting the brakes. However, she lost control of the car
and it plunged down a hillside, coming to a stop when it hit a tree.
Thanks to the seatbelt, Corynn was held firmly in place and sustained no injuries. All she had was a racing heart that felt like it
might jump out of her body at any moment.
At that moment, judging from the sound that she had heard and how she had lost control of the car, she realized that one of the
car’s tires had burst.
But then, the car had been to the maintenance shop a few days ago. It shouldn’t be experiencing a tire burst so quickly.
Just as she was thinking of this, she heard a sudden rustling noise coming from nearby.
