Chapter 41 Beating The Scumbag
Just then, Sofia’s phone pinged; it was a text from Chase. Reading the guy’s reply, Corynn could easily imagine the smug
expression on Chase’s stupid face.
She was the one who had decided on the time and place–nine o’clock in the evening at an abandoned
warehouse in the suburbs.
Chase had agreed to her invitation without hesitation, likely because he believed that Sofia was too weak to
pose any threat.
And as expected, his overconfidence played right into Corynn’s hands.
That afternoon, Corynn prepared the things she’d need for tonight’s meeting: a sack and two bats. She even wrapped each bat
in a thick towel so as to avoid leaving any marks when they beat Chase with it.
At nine o’clock sharp, Corynn and Sofia showed up at the warehouse to wait for Chase.
Chase arrived a full half–hour later, his oily black hair tied back in a tuft and a cigarette dangling from his mouth, looking every bit
the delinquent.
Seeing Sofia, he took the cigarette out of his mouth and grinned, asking, “Sofia, have you finally come to terms
with it?”
Chase was kind of handsome, which was likely why Sofia had fallen for him in the first place.
“Why are you so mad? Every man cheats. Besides, I already told you that you’re the one I truly love,” he added
loftily.
Sofia stood glued to her spot, trembling with rage.
She had never encountered someone so brazenly shameless before.
“Oof, Sofia, that busted lip looks like it still hurts.” Chase feigned wincing upon seeing Sofia’s bruises. “Well, you brought this on
yourself when you asked for a breakup. How dare you embarrass me? You deserved a good
beating.”
Corynn, who was hiding in the shadows, could hardly bear to listen to Chase’s bullshit. This scumbag went beyond her
Without making a sound, she gave Sofia the signal and then quietly crept up behind Chase, ready to throw the
sack over his head.
Chase, busy berating Sofia, failed to notice Corynn’s approach. He had assumed Sofia had called him out here to reconcile, so
he was intent on gas–lighting her into submission.

Chase’s writhing body
Love?
How dare this scumbag talk about love?! He sullied the word!
“Sofial jesus Christ! I love you, okay? I really love Ahh!!” Chase hadn’t expected Sofia to actually attack him, let alone with such
ferocity,
“Love‘? Fuck you, asshole! Say that fucking word once more and I’ll beat you to death!” Sofia screamed like a
madwoman.
Corynn quietly stepped back, only jumping in whenever it looked like Chase might escape the sack. Otherwise, she let Sofia do
most of the beatings herself.
It was clear that Sofia needed to vent all her pent–up fury, no holds barred.
Seeing this was a relief to Corynn, because she was initially a little worried that Chase’s sweet words would taint Sofia’s
judgment.
and she beat him even more ferociously.
Seeing that neither approach was effective, he could only resort to begging for mercy. But it was way too late to quell the flames
of Sofia’s anger.
As Chase gradually stopped struggling, Corynn pulled Sofia back, worried that continued beating might result in serious injury.
Sofia, still feeling unsatisfied, delivered a final kick to Chase’s knee.
They had studied beforehand where to hit to cause the most pain without leaving lasting marks.
Before leaving, Sofia looked at Chase, who was sprawled on the floor, from over her shoulder. “Chase, if you ever show your
face in front of me again, I’ll beat you to death.”
A few seconds after their footsteps receded, Chase pulled the sack off his head, glaring in the direction they had left, still
grimacing from the pain.
What a fucking bitch!
How dare Sofia team up with someone else to ambush him!
He swore he wouldn’t let that bitch get away with this.

With shaking hands, he reached for his phone and dialed a number.
“Hi, this is Chase Arnold. I need to report a crime.”
Sofia clutched her chest, her heart still pounding from the adrenaline.
Beating Chase to a pulp had felt so incredibly satisfying.
She felt like she was on top of the world!
“Corynn, thank you, thank you, thank you!” Sofia gushed, her eyes sparkling with admiration for Corynn.
Chuckling, Corynn patted her on the head and said, “Let’s get you home.”
“What if he reports us to the police?” Sofia “ly asked, her brows creasing with worry.
“Don’t worry,” Corynn reassured her. ” a
have plan.”
When Sofia’s medical report came out, she had contacted a lawyer to file a case. If Chase reported them, he would only end up
incriminating himself.
