Chapter 2003
Under the pitch-black night sky, deep within Galaxy Villa, Skylar jolted awake. "Vivian?" she gasped, her eyes flying open.
Beside her, Joe stirred, his gaze soft with concern. "What's wrong? Is it another dream about Vivian?"
"Yes, I saw her in my dream," Skylar murmured, her forehead beaded with cold sweat. "She's in trouble, I think."
They were deeply worried about Vivian, their most vulnerable point. Yet, their concern was tragically offset by their complete inability to do anything. Their dreams were their only source of information, but they were frustratingly vague.
Joe's expression hardened with quiet determination. "Don't worry. If Vivian was strong enough to bring us home, she'll find her way back too."
Joe had faith in his daughter. Vivian was kind, but she was never fragile.
Skylar got out of bed and made her way to the vanity as Joe switched on the bedside lamp. There it sat-a copper mirror they'd won at an auction not long ago. It was identical to the one that had brought them home.
The mirror held an unexplainable energy. Sometimes, they could almost feel Vivian through it.
"She'll return safely. We just need to wait for her."
Skylar nodded, but something else weighed on her mind. "Hadwin's been asking questions about her-nonstop. He keeps pushing for her contact information. I don't know how much longer I can deflect him."
Joe's expression hardened. "Leave it to me. I'll talk to him. He and Vivian aren't meant to be. I'll make sure he focuses his attention elsewhere."
Skylar sighed in relief. With Joe's help, Hadwin would surely stop his inquiries about Vivian. Perhaps, she hoped, he'd finally stop thinking about her altogether.
She knew Vivian's feelings on the matter-Vivian saw Hadwin as nothing more than a brother.
Time passed quickly. Two days passed like a fleeting shadow.
Manfred remained unconscious, though there was one piece of good news-his wounds hadn't worsened. No infection. No fever.
Aside from Sterling's visit the night before last, no one else had come by.
Vivian spent every spare moment by Manfred's side, talking to him. She spoke

When exhaustion crept in, she would sip water and lose herself in her book. The massive tome had taken her days to conquer.
She was about to pick up another when the faintest noise reached her ears.
Sterling's sharp voice sliced through the air. "Search the bed. There must be a hidden chamber underneath."
"Yes, Mr. Bowman."
