Chapter 2000
Manfred replied calmly, "I just got here not long ago. You should stay here for the
next few days. There's food, water, and some books over there."
He had been waiting for her to wake up just so he could warn her.
The Atkinson family's situation was too complicated. If she showed herself outside, she would be in danger.
He needed this time to take care of some things.
Vivian wasn't about to risk her life. "Alright, I understand."
Since she had to stay here anyway, she could use this time to figure out how to get home.
Not long after, the two of them had breakfast together. Then, Manfred left the secret chamber.
Now, she was completely alone.
Occasionally, she could hear faint noises from outside. It was the servants talking.
She collected her thoughts and looked down at the bracelet on her wrist.
Nobody else could see it. But right now, it didn't seem to have any special effect. Could it help her go home?
Suddenly, a thought struck her. "How could I forget? I should've asked Manfred if he could see the bracelet!"
If he's really the real Manfred, then he should be able to see it.
She laughed at herself for being so slow to realize. But it wasn't too late.
She would just ask him when he returned.
To pass the time, she started flipping through the books Manfred had left for her. There were several of them covering all sorts of topics.
Some were about strange and mysterious tales. Others were historical records. She found them fascinating.
She was completely absorbed in reading when suddenly, a faint sound reached her ears.
She instantly held her breath.
Since the secret chamber was right under the bed, she could hear everything happening in the room above.
Someone had entered. Was it Manfred?
A woman's voice rang out. "Why was the incense burner removed?"
She had heard this voice last night. It was Manfred's aunt-Miley.
Why would Miley enter his room when he wasn't here? And why was the first thing she asked about the incense burner?
"Mr. Atkinson ordered it removed

yesterday. He didn't ask for it to t back today either," a servant answered.
Miley's expression turned cold. She seemed deep in thought. "Has Manfred been
acting strange these past two days?"
The servant replied, "Manfred has
been even more ruthless than
That beautiful woman el

part of her was left intact."
Miley sneered. "Don't tell him I was here."
"Yes."
Then, Miley left.
