"Mr. Atkinson ordered that no one is to enter. Please forgive me, Mr. Bowman." The servant hesitated but still blocked Sterling's path.

Because if Manfred found out they had disobeyed his orders, their fate would be horrible.

Sterling clearly hadn't expected Manfred to return so soon. He let out a few dry chuckles, trying to smooth things over.

"I heard you spent 10,000 dollars to buy a beauty from the black market. I was just curious-what kind of skills must she have for you to buy her outright?"

"I'm not in the mood today. Come back another time." Manfred's voice was cold.

It was the first time Sterling had ever been chased away by him. He was shocked.

Then, as if realizing something, he stepped closer to Manfred. "What's put you in a bad mood? Why don't I take you out to have some fun?"

Everyone in Everholm knew that he and Manfred were the closest of friends. His words had always held weight with Manfred.

But now, it was like Manfred had suddenly become a different person.

"Sterling, it's time for you to leave," Manfred said.
