Rejecting the Alpha Twins

I heard the front door shut and knew that meant the Alpha twin clothes and iron them in the laundry room. Moments later, my

were gone, breathing a sigh of relief as I continued to fold. epmother’s face appeared, a more mature version of
“What on earth was that?” she snarled, putting her hands on her hips and eyeing me fiercely.
1 paused, putting the washing down, and looked at her questiongly
“I’m sorry, what was what?” I asked dumbly,
I had made certain to remain out of the way while Isabelle visite with Xander and Xavier, keeping upstairs and out of their sight.
As far as I knew, I hadn’t done anything wrong.
“The way you’ve been acting” she hissed, looking down her nose at me, “Isabelle told me how you insulted her and then you
almost ran into the twins because you weren’t looking.”
“I didn’t insult” I began heatedly, but she held up a hand silencing me and my protests.
I bit the inside of my lip and fumed. It wouldn’t matter what I said, she would always defend her daughter and find something to
complain about in regards to me.
“Don’t bother” she interrupted fiercely. “Go and get dinner ready Your father will be home soon, and he’ll be hungry.”
I scurried past her, down to the kitchen, and began to cook, keeping my head lowered, aware that my stepmother was looking for
any excuse to grow angry with me. There was no sign of Isabelle but that wasn’t unusual, considering that she often went to eat
with her friends. By the time I had finished, my stepmother and father were sitting at the table, waiting with frowns on their faces.
I carefully put a plate in front of each of them and then sat down at the end of the table alone. Just like I did every night. I stared
down at my food, moving my fork around listlessly.
“How was work sweetheart?” my stepmother cooed, smiling brilliantly at my father.

My father grunted. “There’s been a few sightings of rogues. We’ve had to increase patrol and secure the perimeter extra tight.
More men are patrolling the grounds, and we’ve started training some of the younger males so that they can learn to defend the
pack” he sighed. “The work is never–ending” he shotine a glance of disapproval, “But the fewer that are killed during rogue
attacks the better,” he said icily as the blood drained from my face..
I knew that was a deliberate shot at me. A reminder of what I had done.
Heather shot an uncomfortable look at me and then reached over and touched my father’s hand, drawing his attention back to
her, and thankfully taking his focus off of me. I kept my head down, playing with my food, my appetite now gone. I could feel my
chest tightening as I struggled to keep my breathing even.
“Honey, guess what” Heather said excitedly, as my father looked at her and raised a brow, his eyes softening as he gazed upon
his mate.
“Hmm, I’m guessing it has something to do with Isabelle” he guessed, making Heather laugh out loud and throw her head back,
her eyes dancing in amusement.
Aander and Xavier come to speak to her today. Am I right in guessing that negotiations have been concluded?” she leaned
forward, spearing my father with a fierce gaze, “Is my daughter to be the official Luna of the pack?” she asked, her voice rising in
excitement.
My father grinned. There was a gleam in his eyes as he looked at his wife, his hand gently squeezing hers. Neither of them so
much as spared me a glance or paid a whit of attention to me. I might as well have been invisible for all they cared. Isabelle

was always at the forefront of their minds. It was a triumph for both of them, to have organized such a huge deal for the family
and to be able to elevate their status with Isabelle’s becoming Luna. My father was glowing with pride.
“Negotiations have been concluded,” my father said, leaning back in his chair and sipping at his glass of wine. “Alpha Jackson
has agreed to the twins taking Isabelle as their chosen mate. However, they must wait until Isabelle is officially eighteen and she
must agree with rejecting her fated mate, should she ever find them.”
My stepmother waved a dismissive hand “Isabelle will have no probleins with those conditions. She’s always wanted to be the
Luna of the pack, ever since she can remember” she said being. “But what if the twins find their fated mate?” she frowned.

“The same conditions Apply to them. They are to reject their fail mare. Since the boys turn eighteen first, they will have a short
window in which they might find their mate before they take Isabelle and make her Luna but the odds of their mates being in this
pack is practically nil” my father said shrugging, “ey would have started to have feelings towards a pack member by now or their
wolf would have started to sense their mate with how close their birthday is. Since the twins are acting normally, I would hazard
that nobody here is fated to be with them.”
“For all we know Isabelle could be their fated mate” my stepmother clapped her hands, looking excited. “Wouldn’t that solve all of
our problems” she giggled with happiness.
“It would certainly make things easier” my father grumbled and then looked at me, raising a brow.
“Now all we have to do is decide what to do with Regan,” he said bluntly.
I looked at him, surprised that he was even bothering to acknowledge I was at the table.
“Well, I was thinking” my stepmother broke in, causing me to look at her sharply; “Since Regan and Isabelle have practically
grown up together and are about the same age.” she trailed off, an expectant expression on her face.
“I don’t quite follow you;” my father said with narrowed eyes “What does that have to do with anything?”
She sighed. “Well, if Isabelle is going to be Luna, then she’s going to need an omega to tend to her every need” she explained
as I sat there in shock. “Why shouldn’t it be Regan? It would be beneficial for her sister to have somebody she could trust to take
care of her, and we could still see Regan at the pack house. It’s the perfect solution” she declared, while I felt my heart turn as
hard as stone.
The perfect solution. A slave to my sister’s every whim, like I already was. I could feel bitterness beginning to consume me.
looked towards my father, hoping he would make some sort of objection or protest, perhaps even deny Heather this one.
request, but he was nodding slowly, a thoughtful look on his face. I began to feel cold all over.
“You know, that could work,” he said, giving me a sidelong glance. “Regan is going to be eighteen soon as is Isabelle. It’s an
honor to work for your Luna;” he told me frostily as I began to shake my head, “and god knows you don’t possess the strength to
take over my role as Beta when the time comes, as pany and weak as you are.”
“I intend on leaving the pack when I turn eighteen” I blurted out unable to hold back anymore, the words just slippiChapter 3

I felt betrayed as I got up the next day, making my way woodenly down to the kitchen, only to be greeted by the scowl on my
father’s face. Great. I sensed that something even worse than yesterday was about to happen, although I couldn’t imagine things
getting any worse than they already were.
“You’re coming with me to the training grounds today” he snarled without hesitation.
The hell I was. I can’t fight remember. I’m puny and weak” I repeated sarcastically.
Whomp. I barely ducked the fist coming towards me in time. In fact, I was surprised to have dodged it at all. Even my father
looked slightly impressed, even as he tried not to show it.
“You’re almost eighteen, you can train with everyone else today, want to see if you have any Beta blood flowing through. your
veins” he snapped. “Do not test me. Next time you won’t doige so easily” he threatened

I reluctantly followed him out to the grounds, wondering idly where Isabelle was and feeling particularly hard done by that she
didn’t have to come as well. I felt apprehensive, looking towards the small group of pack members that were cloistered together
at the training ring, Xavier and Xander were amongst them, preparing to fight and hone their skills, As Alphas they needed to
know how to fight and protect the pack that they would become leaders of.
that “Today we’re going to train in our human forms, seeing as not all of us have received our wolves just yet” my father growled,
you can suiding into the middle of everyone and pointedly looking at the twins and myself as I flushed. “It’s important defend
yourself in case you, for some reason are unable to shift into your wolf form, whether it’s because you are severely injured, or
you have been dosed with wolfsbane. It’s an important lesson to learn. I want you to split up into groups” he began and pointed
at Xander and Xavier. “Naturally you two will face off against each other. Regan, fight against Tiffany here” he added with a
drawl, walking off before I could offer any objections.
I looked uncertainly at Tiffany. She was one of Isabelle’s friends and I could already see her sizing me up. We moved over 10) a
corner of the ring. Tiffany’s mouth was already beginning to curve into a vicious smile. I swallowed hard. I looked over my
shoulder but could see that everybody had already begun to spar, the twins going full throttle at each other, so fast they were
almost blurs. It was impressive. My hands went clammy as I looked back at Tiffany, knowing I was about to get my ass given to
me on a silver platter.
“You have no chance” Tiffany giggled and flipped her hair over her head, before slowly adopting a defensive position. “Why” don’t
you show me what you’ve got?” she challenged, smirking, certain that I was no match for her.

I slowly shook my head and then was forced to move as Tiffany began to launch her attack, catching me by surprise, her fist
landing squarely in my stomach as I gave a strangled sound, followed by her knee kicking me hard in the face. I dropped to the
ground like a sack of potatoes as she danced backward, her eyes dancing.
“This is going to be even easier than I thought” she crowed, laughing out loud. “You’re so weak it’s almost pitiful” she declared,
her eyes dancing.
Pitiful. The word echoed in my mind. Even Tiffany, an average fighter at best, found me pitiful, I could already see the
disappointment and pure contempt on my father’s face as I slowly climbed back to my feet, wiping my swollen lip and wincing
from the pain. I knew the basic fighting positions, but my father hadn’t prepared me for this kind of fighting Probably because he
didn’t want me capable of defending myself against this kind of treatment. I wondered if this was a lesson or a way for him to
manipulate me into agreeing to become Isabelle’s omega without continuing to argue about it. “Are you ready for more?” Tiffany
hissed, her fists up as she bounced on her feet, rocking back and forth.
I bit the inside of my lip and put my own fists up. I could see several groups had halted their sparring to stare at me and Tiffany,
no doubt so they could point and laugh together. Even the twins were glancing over in interest I was going to look like an idiot, I
thought, closing my eyes for a moment and then reopening them, but there was nothing I could do about it, except do my best
and hope that Tiffany didn’t beat me too severely.
Chapter 3
“I’m going to enjoy this,” Tiffany pursed her lips at me and then moved.
Anger coursed through me. Something instinctual took over. I shocked everyone by dodging her next few punches, my head and
body moving to the side in graceful movements. I saw Tiffany’s eyes widen in shock, even as she renewed her efforts. I threw out
a punch of my own and watched stunned, as though it was happening in slow motion, as it connected with Tiffany’s nose, a
sickening cracking noise sounding as blood spurted everywhere. I listened to the sound she made as she howled in pain and
staggered backwards, clutching her nose in shock...
Oh shit. I had broken her nose without intending to. I had simply lashed out blindly. Instantly I felt contrite as Tiffany kept a hand
to her nose, her eyes watering with tears.
“I’m so sorry” I breathed as she gave another cry, pushing her nose back into position, wincing as she corrected it, and then.
glared at me. “I didn’t mean to break your nose” I stammered.
“You bitch” she shouted out loud, almost hysterical, “You broke my nose” she shrieked.

I opened my mouth to protest but she launched herself at me, her eyes flashing. I put my arms up to block her attack and then
kicked out, landing one in her stomach as she doubled over, wheezing and coughing, her eyes watering slowly. I had kicked out
hard, out of fear and she had gotten the brunt of it. I looked on fearfully as she slowly rose to her feet.
I was a dead woman, and I knew it. Tiffany’s eyes were slowly darkening, and I could see the menace in them.
“You think that you can beat me” she straightened up, hatred glittering in her eyes; “You think I’m going to let some little bitch like
you defeat me?” her tone was incredulous.
Where the hell was my father? I glanced over my shoulder but saw no sign of him. I could see the twin Alphas beginning to eye
Tiffany with concern though, Xander and Xavier beginning to move forward and push their way through the crowd.
A low growl had me stiffening. I turned my head and then stilled Tiffany was shifting into her wolf form, her claws growing. fur
appearing on her limbs, her eyes darkening. As she transformed into her wolf, I stood there, unable to move as she jumped
directly towards me, a snarl on her lips. I braced myself, waiting for the inevitable, certain that she was about to rip my throat out.
She wasn’t supposed to shift, none of us were, but she wasn’t letting that stop her. She hadn’t liked being humiliated in front of
everyone and she was getting her revenge. I waited, anticipating flooding through me, for the pain of her teeth to tear through
me.
“Stop” two voices ordered in unison, two bodies putting themselves between me and Tiffany as I blinked, feeling dazed and
slightly confused.
Xander and Xavier had used their Alpha voices, the one that could not be ignored by any pack member. Tiffany was forced to
stop, falling to her feet and continuing to snarl at me, while Xavier and Xander crossed their arms across their chests, looking
disgustedly at her.
“Shift back” Xavier ordered with a growl and within moments Tiffany had shifted back to human form, crying softly as she tried to
cover herself. Another pack member quickly handed her a shirt to cover up.
“Cheating is prohibited” my father’s voice boomed out; “Leave and see the Alpha for your punishment” he roared, sounding
disgusted.
Tiffany fled without looking at anyone, her cheeks a bright pink
“Good work stopping her,” my father complimented the Alpha wins as they turned to face him “But don’t put yourself in danger for
the likes of somebody like this. Regan is dispensable, he said coldly, as they listened. “Whereas you two, being future Alphas are

not. In the future, leave the disciplining and the interventions to me” he ordered. Chapter 4
Regan POV
Father barely spared me a second glance, walking away from the training grounds, and leaving me there alone. I hesitated and
then hurried, rushing in the direction of the Alpha twins, practically sprinting after them. They paused, hearing the sound of my
footsteps, turning around, both of them raising a brow in question. I put a hand to my chest, coughing slightly as I tried to catch
my breath.
“I wanted to thank you” I wheezed, my voice finally finding itself I know you didn’t have to help me back there but..” my voice
trailed off, at the expressions on both their faces.
“It would have looked bad if we hadn’t intervened” Xander interrupted, casting a glance at his brother, “She broke pack rules and
only a coward would shift and attack somebody in human form” he added cuttingly.
I flushed. Xavier eyed me thoughtfully. “How come you don’t train with the rest of us?” he asked unexpectedly as I blinked at him.
This was the first time, they had asked me anything, out of curiosity or interest. I was taken aback. Did this mean they wanted to
know more about me?
“Well, um, my father doesn’t see the reason for it as Isabelle was the one who was more likely to take over his position, well until,
you know” I gestured to them both, blushing bright pink, Until you decided to become chosen mates with her.”

“But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t learn to defend yourself or make the effort to train” Xander’s voice was cold, and his
expression was unforgiving. “Even those who are in a low ranking in the pack need to be able to help protect it. Do you think you
are above everyone else?” he asked icily.
“No” I blurted out, looking between the two of them and seeing nothing but judgment in their eyes “Of course not. III continued to
stammer, my anxiety increasing as they continued to tower over me.
Why didn’t they understand that nothing I did was by choice? Were they that oblivious to my life and the circumstances in which I
was forced to live? I should have known better than to chase after them like this.
“When we become Alpha’s of the pack that will change” Xavier’s voice was lower but no less cruel “You’ll be required to attend
mandatory training and most likely extra sessions to make up for all the ones you’ve missed. You’re already the reason for one of
our most beloved pack members being killed, do you really want to be responsible for the death of another?” he was callous, as I
flinched from the accusation.

“I didn’t kill my mother” my voice was weak, “It wasn’t my fault protested, even as I knew it wouldn’t make a difference. It never
did.
Xavier looked slightly uncomfortable, but Xander merely sneered at me.
“Please, we’ve all heard what a troubleniaker you are. You think you’re above the rules, that none of them apply to you” he made
a rude motion at me, his eyes beginning to blaze “Do you think that Isabelle hasn’t told us about your true nature and how much
of a bitch you are?” he snapped.
Isabelle. Of course, she would make it sound as though I was the problem. If only these two knew what her true nature was like,
but like everybody else, she had them completely fooled. I blinked back tears, looking at Xavier who merely avoided my gaze.
For some unfathomable reason, I felt hurt by their opinions of me.
“Is that really what you think of me?” I asked, my heart giving a pang.
Why did it matter so much what they thought? Why did I care? Everybody considered me to be a murderer or a weakling. but
why did it hurt so much to think that the Alpha twins thought the same? Since when did their opinion matter so much?
There’s no point trying to act the part of the innocent victim” Xander regarded me coolly. “According to Isabelle, you treat

her like she’s nothing more than a slave instead of a sister. When we make her our mate, you’re going to find out very quickly
what it’s like to be ordered around” he smiled, the smile chilling me to the core, “and what it’s like to have to do everything you’re
told. I hope you’re prepared for that he added before turning his back on me and deliberately walking
away
“I’m not” I began to say and then stopped.
I’m not this evil person that you believe I am, I wanted to shout
just me. Why can’t you see that? It took me a moment
to realize that Xavier was still standing there, looking down at mas 1 eyed him uncertainly.

“Shouldn’t you be following your brother?” My voice was slightly waspish.
Screw him. Screw him and screw Xander. They were just like everybody else in this damn pack. They weren’t interested in the
truth. They only cared about becoming Alpha and leading the pack. I was merely an inconvenience and a burden to them. I could
feel myself fighting back tears and digging my nails into the palms of my hands as I breathed in and out, regaining my
composure.
“For what it’s worth, your fighting was quite good for somebody who hasn’t attended a single training session” Xavier offered at
last, a small smile on his lips before it faded and he turned away, resolutely heading after his brother.
I blinked. Had Xavier Dominion just complimented me? Surely had to have misheard him. But I had heard him with my own ears.
He had praised me, reluctantly, but it still made me feel a tiny spark of happiness inside. I watched the back of them, unable to
drag my eyes away from them, marveling at what a handsome pair they made and grateful that nobody was here to see me
looking at the twins in such a way. Or at least 1 thought that I was alone. That small moment of happiness did not last long.
I felt a hand pinch my arm, causing me to gasp out loud and turn my head, meeting Isabelle’s cold eyes.
“Don’t even think of going near my mates again” she snarled, as tried to pull her hand away from any arm, her eyes narrowing
“Don’t think I don’t see what you are doing, trying to get their sympathy so that they will show you attention” she hissed as I
looked at her dumbfounded.
“Isabelle, I was just...” I trailed off, not sure why I felt the need to defend myself from such a ridiculous accusation.
“Acting like a slut,” she tightened her grip as I inhaled sharply from the pain “Those are my mates Regan, mine” she emphasized,
as pack members walked past without stopping to offer help “and if you so much as look at them the wrong way again, you’ll be
very sorry” she snapped.
She pinched me hard again, as though to prove her point and I winced. She dropped my arm, and I grabbed at it, rubbing the
pain, watching the bright red mark slowly go a pale pink.
“Next time I won’t be so nice” Tiffany warned me, lifting her head and looking down her nose at me “You better remember that
when I’m Luna, Regan, you’re very existence depends on n. so I wouldn’t make me too angry if I were you. As for what you did
to poor Tiffany” she shook her head and then her hand thrust out fast, catching me in the nose, causing me to double over,
clutching at it, blood spurting out onto the grass and down my clothes.
That hurt. I looked up at her with tears trailing down my cheeks. She smirked “Tiffany gives you, herregards.”

I watched through tears as she walked away, my hand holding my nose as I stumbled to my feet. I dreaded the day when she
became Luna. Who knew what torture she would put me through once she was officially in charge. The only people who ever
saw her bad side was me. Isabelle Ramona was no angel, but the pack certainly thought she was. It was too bad the twins
couldn’t see the side of Isabelle that I could. Maybe then, they would know the truth and that I wasn’t as bad as they thought I
was
We meant no offense murmured Xander as Xavier merely stared at my father, his face expressionless. “We simply stepped in to
prevent future injuries.”
My father smiled but it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Had my daughter been injured. I would have taken the appropriate
rasures” he assured them, lying through his teeth.
Chapter 3
If the Alpha twins hadn’t stopped Tiffany I had no doubts I would be dead by now.
The Alpha twins did not look convinced by my father’s assurance but began to walk away without a second glance. I wanted to
thank them, but my voice refused to work..
ng out.
My father cocked his head “No,” he said bluntly.
“No? You can’t stop me,” I said in shock.
“Ah, but I can. Normal rules are that pack members can leave once they turn eighteen but for those of Beta or Alpha blood...” he
trailed off as I went pale.
“Permission from the Alpha himself must be obtained” I whispered feeling sick.
1 had forgotten the stupid rule! For the first time since I could remember, I cursed having Beta blood. My father smirked “Alpha
Jackson–will never grant you permission and once I speak with Xander and Xavier, neither of them will either. You’ll stay in this

pack, and you’ll do as I tell you” he said, his voice deepening slightly “and maybe I’ll be able to prevent somebody else from
being killed because of your recklessness” he spat.

Silence. “If you don’t want me here, then why not let me go?” I whispered between trembling lips.
“Because I haven’t punished you enough for killing my mate. Get out of my sight before I lose what little self–control I have left”
he snarled, slamming down his hand on the table. I couldn’t get out of the room fast enough, but not before I saw the vicious
smile on Heather’s face.
