Rejecting the Alpha Twins

Chapter 39

Chapter 38
Chapter 38
Regan POV
It’s dark. The torches are lit, lighting the dark dungeon as I slowly make my way down, assisted by Xavier, while Xander waits
patiently down by the cell. Alpha Jackson is behind me, Insouth flat, a look of anxiety all over his face. I feel sorry for him. He’s
gone through so much, the least of all which is the knowledge that Luna Jennifer slept with another man and betrayed him all
those years ago. It’s a miracle he hasn’t broken down or lost control of himself or his wolf. I admire that because it shows just
how much inner strength he possesses. No doubt Xavier and Xander take, after him in that respect.
The time has come. I have spent sleepless nights, tossing, turning, trying to come up with the perfect solution, only to realize that
there isn’t one. I can’t try and please everybody, It will not work and part of me hurts at that realization, as Xavier begins to lead
me to the first cell, where my father is waiting, hanging on the wall by silver restraints, his eyes murderous as he looks upon me.
I try not to flinch as I rake my gaze over him, feeling the inner turmoil that often accompanies me whenever I get even remotely
close to him. I could already feel myself starting to tense, in preparation for this confrontation, my body was used to the beatings
he would foist on me for every little transgression. Even though he can’t touch me. J can’t help my body reacting automatically to
his presence.
“You little bitch” he spits, pulling on the cuffs and wincing as the silver burns him “Release me from this cell so that I might get my
revenge” he roars.
His anger towards Luna Jennifer and what she did, to him, and to us, is evident by the fury on his face and his blatant attempts
to get free. He’s been stewing for days.
“Beta Johnathon, you have been stripped of your title, and I must ask you to remain silent as your daughter Regan gives us her
ruling in regard to your punishment” Alpha Jackson’s tone is sharp as he reprimands my father.
My father gives an incredulous laugh while I stiffen, and the Alpha twins shoot him looks filled with daggers. “You’re going to let
this useless bitch choose how to punish me?” he snorts. “Cowards, the lot of you” he shouts giving a little girl such power, I don’t
believe it.”
I study him. For so long, I have fearell him. Feared his hand, the pain that always accompanies it as it connects with my bare
flesh. He looks tired now. Weary. There are cuts on his skin from struggling with the restraints. He is pale and withdrawn. I study

him even more closely. The Alpha twins and their father are silent, watching me. I give a small smile, feeling sad for some
inexplicable reason.
“For the repeated physical abuse that I have suffered at your hands I sentence you to be lashed no less than thirty times.” I said
quietly as his eyes widened in alarm and the Alpha twins nodded, a look of satisfaction on their faces. “I think it’s time you found
out just how painful a whipping across your back can feel Father” I concluded, feeling a little morose.
As punishments went, it was certainly justified, but it did little to make me feel better.
“Bitch” he roared “No good, little whore. You think that I’m afraid of a little whipping?” he snarled “That’s nothing. I’ll kill you for
this” he hissed.
I shook my head in resignation. “I think you don’t have the faintest concept of what a whipping will feel like. Once the first ten
have been established, the pain becomes more excruciating. But I digress” I murmur as the twin’s jaws clench at my statement
and their eyes begin to blaze in anger. “There is but one more thing of which you must be punished and condemned for.”
Had he forgotten the crime that had landed him in here, to begin with? He looked at me in dread and I knew that he hadn’t as he
began to pale.
“When I get out of here” my father began to furiously shout and interrupted him, looking him directly in the eyes. This time, I
would not let him interrupt me. I would make him sten. It was my time to speak and speak up 1 did. For the crime of adultery and
sleeping with somebody else’s fated mate, that which happens to be the Alpha of the packs.
Chapter 38
the consequent lying and subterfuge and blatant attempt to cover it up, I sentence you...” I trailed off as my father glared and
began to spit curse words at me.
“You don’t have the right he roared, trying to refute my claims
“On the contrary, I have given her that right” Alpha Jackson interrupts, staring at my father with hatred “and I will abide by
whatever decision she has come to and support her. I did not trit myself with your punishment, for I feared that I might kill your
with my bare hands” he growled, causing my father to silent, glowering at all of us.
“Go ahead Regan” Xander urged quietly “finish what you started

He made it sound so simple, but my heart felt like it was being smped over as I forced myself to repeat the words and stare my
father in the face.
“For the crime of adultery and the lies, conspiracy to cover it up sentence you to become banished from the pack forevermore,
destined to become a rogue and forbidden to step foot back in this territory ever again unless you want to forfeit your life” I
finished, staring at my father, my body trembling slightly as his eyes widened in shock.
He hadn’t been expecting that. It was done. I had finished it. His punishment was concluded.
It had taken days to come to this conclusion. To come to some sort of fitting punishment. I had no love for my father, but I
couldn’t stomach ordering his execution either. He hadn’t killed my mother, but his actions had led to it. He had betrayed his
Alpha. This punishment would indirectly lead to his death unless he learned to survive as a rogue. He would never get to see

Isabelle or Heather again. They would feel the sever of the bend when he was forced to cut it off with the whole pack. He would
never be able to step foot on these pack grounds again
“You can’t do that” my father shouted, staring at me wildly “What about my stepdaughter? My wife?”
1 smiled tightly. “You won’t see them again. Maybe, without your influence, they might become better people.”
I highly doubted it. Isabelle was rotten to the core and Heather only encouraged her daughter’s antics, but there was still hope for
the both of them.
“My daughter needs me” he shouted, and I gave a bitter laugh.
“I needed you to. I’m your daughter but I might as well not have been for all the love and the care that you’ve shown me. I have
no love for you anymore Father I told him honestly. “You beat that out of me a long time ago, but I wish you luck on the outside
regardless. You’re going to need it” I said with an exhale, trying not to break down or show any weakness in front of him.
“Fuck you, you little bitch” my father screeched, tugging uselessly on the restraints as I stared straight ahead “I’m coming back
for you” he snarled, as I glanced up at him, his eyes narrowing on my face “I swear, I’ll come back to get you” he hissed.
“Shut his mouth” Alpha Jackson nodded to the guards who began to move in order to obey his instructions.
1 felt Xander grab my hand and squeeze it, reassuring me. I smiled tightly to myself, even as my body began to still, the
trembling beginning to subside. Xavier moved to the other side of me, placing a hand on my shoulder, tingles running down my
spine as I breathed shallowly, the mold and the metallic scent of old blood causing me to gag slightly.

“That was a fitting punishment Alpha Jackson murhured, eyeing me closely and nodding in approval, even as his tone was filled
with grief. “But can you hold your composure enough to get through the next one?” he asked grimly.
I looked him in the eyes, I knew full well who the other prisoner was and who we were about to face. I had it on good authority
that Alpha Jackson had not ventured down here since she had been placed in the cell and down here in this dungeon, I looked at
him, taking note of the crease in his smile, the bleakness of his eyes, and the sudden stiffness of his demeanor. Perhaps he
should not be asking me that question but asking himself that very same thing.
“Can you?” I asked, deciding to be blunt.

Chapter 39
Xavier POV
I admire how Regan manages to keep herself together, even as begin to worry about my father and his emotional well- being.
Xander is strangely quiet, his expression contemplative del while I tried to keep myself subdued. I made every effort to reassure
my mate, holling her hand, tone hing her, trying to be near her as we transversed the corridor until we found ourselves in front of
the cell that had mine and Xander’s mother in it. Regan had dealt tremendously well with the punishment she had doled out to

Beta Johnathon, her father, but I wondered how she would go now, my own eyes feeling heavy as my mother rose gracefully to
her feet and regarded us all with a cynical expression. I felt my father blanch as the directed her eyes towards him and stopped.
“You finally decided to grace me with your presence” My mother smiled but it did not quite reach her eyes.
Even now, she tried to resemble the persona of a Luna, althought would do her little good to act this way now. She could not
escape what was about to happen, no matter how much she might wish to.
My father pushed his way through all of us to the front of the cell door staring down at her as she blinked at him in surprise. I
could see Regan’s face drain of color while I and my brother stared down at the ground, knowing instinctively what our father
was about to do. We would do the same in his shoes. I had dreaded this moment and now that it had come, there was nothing
that I could realistically do to stop it. Not unless I wanted to prove that we were nothing more than hypocrites who would go to
any lengths to save our family while condemning others.
“1. Alpha Jackson of the Blood Moon Pack, reject you, Luna Jennifer Dominion as my mate now and forevermore” my father
growled the words out, causing all of us to flinch, my mother’s face going white as snow as she gave a scream that was
bloodcurdling, dropping to her knees as she felt the bond between herself and my father sever.
She would be in constant pain until she chose to accept it and I doubted she would be foolish or najve enough not to. My father
was not about to change his mind this time. His expression was deadly serious as he stared down at her.
“1 accept your rejection” she sobbed, clutching at her neck, and we all watched as the mark disappeared from her neck and our
father’s.
They were no longer bonded to each other. My father was once again, without a mate. This had to be killing him inside and yet,
he made no sound.
He stepped back instead, looking awfully weary. I saw Regan gently touch his arm, questioning if he was alright. My mother
glared at us, forcing herself to stand back upright, stiffening her spine as she attempted to regain her prideful look.
“You were never much of a real mate anyway” she sneered at my father, as I clenched my jaw and Xander shot me a that spoke

volumes about how angered he was.
“We’re not here to discuss that, we’re here to witness your punishment” my father’s voice is terse
Jook

We all look towards Regan. My mother looks taken aback. “You can to tell me that you gave the decision to her” she said
gesturing with her hands, her tone loud in disbelief,
Regan remains silent which further provokes my mother’s anger
“We decided to give the one whose life was affected the most by your treasonous acts the decision, yes,” my father said quietly
and without apology,
“You have got to be joking. A little girl, playing and pretending to be Luna” she scoffed, causing me to flinch and Xander to glare
at her.
Regan
looked unaffected by our mother’s blister. Because that’s all it was, bluster. She was nervous and doing her best to hide it.
Perhaps she was considering the repercussions of her actions and wondering just how far Regan would go in regard to her
punishment. I could see her jaw ticking in nervousness,

Chapter 39
“Laina Jennifer” Regan’s voice is barely above a whisper, and we have to crane our heads to hear her properly, even with our
sensitive shifter hearing. “You committed adultery against your fated mate, the Alpha of this park and then continually ed about it.
You hired an innocent girl into the forest during a rogo attack and as a direct result, her mother dieil protecting her. That girl was
later declared to be a murderer and treated like an outcast by the pack and abused by many, including her father. Your crimes
are numerous” she breathed, looking at my mother in condemnation.
“I am the Luna, you can’t do this to me” our mother shouted, looking between us all. “This was just a mistake, a careless
misunderstanding. You can forgive me, can’t you” she pleaded na shaky voice.
“No Mother,” I told her, shaking my head “we can’t. We have always looked up to you as a leader and today, we discovered you
are nothing but a coward. You had a chance to make things right, years ago and instead, you covered it up, to save your own
ass. You let them think Regan was to blame because it suited you.”
She framed an innocent little girl rather than take the fall. That was more shameful than anything she could have done.

Her face contorted and she looked on the verge of tears.
“For the crimes ou have committed” Regan’s voice is wooden and emotionless “I hereby sentence you to be stripped of your title.
You will be banished from this pack and turned into a rogue. To step foot onto these pack lands will mean to forfeit your life” she
advised quietly.
It was a lesser punishment than my mother deserved, and my brother and my father looked at Regan, recognizing the
compassion she was showing. She could have asked for the death sentence, and we would have granted it because it was
within her rights. I had the feeling she was doing this for us,
“No” my mother whispered, her lips quivering “I can’t leave this pack. Where would I go?” she turned and appealed to us, her
hands separating in a helpless gesture.
“That will be up to you mother. Asa Luna you have an advantage most shifters who are condemned to become rogues don’t and
your wolf is stronger. You have a good chance of being able to survive out there” I told her tightly,
She had been given the same sentence as Beta Jolinathon, minus the whipping. Regan had shown true mercy. I looked at my
mate with nothing but gratefulness in my eyes. I hoped she could see how much I valued her in that moment and how much I
wished I could thank her for this bit of kindness,
“But this is my home.” My mother protested, her voice rising as my father turned his head and avoided looking at her “I don’t
know anything else. I can’t do anything else. I wouldn’t know how.”
I hardened my heart. “Then you will have to learn. Step foot back on these pack grounds once we release you as a rogue and
we will be forced to kill you” I said, glancing at Regan who stood deadly still, her eyes watching every move that our mother
made.
Teamed, launching herself at the bars and wincing as the silver burned the flesh of her hands, “I am your mother” she causing
her to drop them in a hurry “I gave birth to you boys, I raised you. I was loyal to you for years” she yelled at my father who
stiffened “and this is how you repay it? You are all monsters” she screamed hysterically “I did everything in my power to keep you
safe. I made one mistake” she screeched, glaring at Regan “and for that, you would condemn me.”
“Your mistake killed my mother” Regan’s voice cuts through my fnother’s screeching and causes her to fall silent.“Had I made the
same mistake you did, would I be granted the mercy that I decided to extend to you today?” she asked meaningfully.

We all knew that our mother would not have given the same leniency. It was written all over her face as she glared at Regan. Her
lower lip–curled as she stared at our mate who refused to be intimidated. “I should have known that you would furn them against
me” she sneered “You’re more like your mother than you think. But I’ll be the last one laughing, you just wait and see” she
threatened, as Regan blinked at her “if you think this is the end of me then you don’t know the first thing about me. I’ll survive”
she hissed, as we glanced at each other “and I’ll come back, no matter how long it takes.”
“Good luck” Regan murmured unfazed, and then turned on her heel, moving unsteadily away as I grabbed my father and began
to help him along, Xander glancing sorrowfully at our mother and then following in resignation.

“I will come back” my mother screamed, but we all ignored her making our way to the exit and towards Regan who was blindly
stumbling and looking on the verge of collapsing.
She had been through enough for now. Our mate needed to restond we needed to plan our next move of action.
