Rejecting the Alpha Twins

Chapter 176

Fiona POV
“You bitch,” I slapped her across the face, my anger showing as she was dragged back into the pack house, unable to keep it to
myself any longer, watching as she sunk down to her knees, Alpha Max walking silently behind her.
Celeste. He’d found her. It had only taken two days. She wasn’t the brightest bulb in the shed. I could feel my anger rising even
as my two fathers stood there, neither of them uttering a word. Tears streamed down Celeste’s cheeks. I am unmoved, as are we
all. Even my mate merely tightens his lips and looks away, thoroughly disgusted at her.
“I just wanted to leave,” she sobbed pathetically, “why is that so wrong? He made me do it,” she turned and pointed at Alpha Max
who scowled at her, “if he had simply left well enough alone, I wouldn’t have had to run,” she screeched, acting as though he
was to blame for everything without taking any responsibility for herself at all.
She was the same old Celeste. I felt my lips twitch in fury. I could feel my nails digging into the palms of my hands as I stared at
her, wondering what on earth was going inside that mind of hers that she couldn’t see there was something wrong with not just
my father’s but us all. Could she not see the pain on our expressions, the grief? Was she really this shallow, this selfish?
1. ck.
“You didn’t have to run at all,” I countered back, feeling exhausted, with deep circles under my eyes. “You could have simply
accepted responsibility for your actions like an adult, Celeste,” I pointed out calmly, even as my heart began to race wildly in my
chest.
“Fuck you,” she shrieked back, her eyes narrowing at me. “You’re always acting perfect, Fiona, but we all know that the family
doesn’t consider you part of it. What are you still doing here? I want mother,” she continued, glaring at all of us. “Mother won’t let
you do this to me,” she continued to cry, like a child who was hearing no for the first time. It was interesting how she hadn’t
noticed Regan’s absence or perhaps she thought that Regan was elsewhere when the truth was anything but.
My lip twitched. Even now, Celeste thought she could manipulate us all, turning to Regan to do what she wanted, hoping her
mother would intervene once again. She didn’t know, I thought, glancing at a steadfast Alpha Max. He hadn’t told her. None of

the pack members had evidently done so, leaving her to find out on her own. She was not well loved in the pack at the moment
after they discovered she had fled from the pack during a battle. The entire pack despised her at that moment.
“You want Mother?” my voice is wooden and my body is stiff.

I wanted mother. I wanted her so badly that I wanted to scream out my anguish, and Celeste merely wanted her so she could
use her. I wanted to hurt her in that moment more than I had ever felt like doing it before.
She straightened up, getting awkwardly to her feet, glancing at me scornfully. “Since when do you call her mother? We all know
how much you despise her. I want mother, where is she?” she demanded, looking towards her fathers and waiting for
an answer.
For once, I thought she might genuinely look at the two men who had raised her since birth, loved her, fed her, and fought for her
and see how much pain they were in. They were in so much pain that they hadn’t even spoken a word yet. But Celeste was
oblivious, only interested in saving her own ass again. It hadn’t occurred to her yet why we were all so quiet when it came to
speaking Regan’s name. It never occurred to her that her escape from the pack would have dire consequences. She was too
selfish to care about anybody but herself, and it caused me such rage that it was all I could do not to transform into my wolf and
lunge at her.
“You want mother?” I asked woodenly again. “Mother’s not here, Celeste. Mother will never be here to hear your complaints or
incessant whining or feel disappointed by your actions ever again. Mother is gone,” I told her stiffly “and you haven’t changed a
goddamn bit, you bitch,” I hissed, raising my hand to strike her again.
I was having a hard time keeping my composure. My mate recognized this and put a comforting arm around my waist. I could
feel myself trembling the longer I had to face the girl I blamed for my mother’s death. It was all her fault. She could have saved
Regan if she had just stayed. It wasn’t rational but I didn’t care. I wanted Celeste to suffer like I was suffering. I wanted her to feel
the pain we were all feeling by Regan’s absence.
She dodged just. I glared at her. She glanced desperately towards my fathers. “What does she mean by that?” she cried. “Where
is mother? Why won’t you tell me what’s going on?” she cried.
“I told you that Mother is gone,” I said quietly as my fathers nodded silently, both on the verge of tears once again.
They were strong, but they were looking to me to deal with this. Just like I had been forced to deal with almost everything since

the funeral.
“Gone, but gone where?” she screamed, stamping her foot. “She can’t just leave like this. It’s not fair,” she added spitefully.
“Not fair? You abandoned her when you ran from the pack. Everybody else was fighting for their lives,” I said angrily, “and you?
You were nowhere to be found,” I hissed.

It still hurt. To think Mother might have been saved if Celeste had simply fought by her side. Instead, we’d been forced to say our
final goodbyes at her funeral two days ago, and I hadn’t gotten one good night’s sleep since, so overwhelmed with guilt that I
woke up screaming and crying from my nightmares. I blamed myself just as much as I was blaming Celeste.
“I’m pregnant. I couldn’t,” Celeste said, her own voice rising, “and what difference would it have made if I did? It’s not as though I
could do much. My wolf...” She paused and then fell silent, her face flushing.
“Your wolf? What does your wolf have to do with it? You’re either a black wolf or a white wolf, both with extraordinary strength.
Strength you could have used in the fight,” I said bitterly as my mate put a hand on my shoulder for comfort. “Instead, you only
thought about yourself as usual. Didn’t you?” I asked pointedly.
Oh, she was trying to play the victim, but this time it wouldn’t work. The little manipulative bitch was about to get what was
coming to her.
‘Oh please, like you’re so perfect, Fiona. You act so damn righteous but you’re not even part of the family. Just because you
chose to go and fight didn’t mean I had to. I had a choice,” she argued, before scowling at Alpha Max, “You had no right to bring
me back.”
“We had every right to track you down. You’re not getting rid of the baby, Celeste, and you are not getting your own way this
time. This time, you are going to pay for your actions. This time, there isn’t anybody who is going to interfere to save you. You’ve
upset too many people this time. Karma has finally come to bite you in the ass.”
“As if. Fathers,” she glanced at Xavier and Xander, “tell her. Tell him.” She pointed her chin at Alpha Max, fiercely scowling..
“That I don’t have to leave. Tell him to let me go. Please,” she beseeched, confused when all they did was continue to stare at
her blindly, as though they were looking right through her.
“I’m speaking on behalf of everyone. Tell me, Celeste, was it worth it?” I asked, suddenly standing back up and looming over her.
“Was it worth fleeing the pack and leaving everybody else to suffer?” I bit out.
“Stop being so melodramatic. Everybody looks fine,” she snapped back.
“Take a good look around, Celeste.” I moved my arm around, frustrated beyond belief. “Tell me, who is missing?” I asked.
“Mother is probably just resting.” She sneered.
