Chapter 911
Jackson's eyes flickered with a hint of guilt. "I... I think Mark's planning to bring in that genius hacker from the Rowland family, the one who's done time."
The wives exchanged doubtful glances. "Him? Isn't he disabled? And didn't he go to prison?"
Lydia chimed in from the end of the table, pouting a bit, "So what if he's been to prison or is disabled? The guy uses his brains to make a living."
Jules chuckled. "Lydia's got a point. The kid's a real brainiac. If the Sharp family wants to shake things up and get past our current rut, we need to think outside the box about talent."
Mrs. Vincent mused, "It's really him?"
"You've met him, Mother?" Jules asked, clearly surprised.
Mrs. Vincent nodded. "Funny enough, he showed up at the Sharp estate today to have it out with Greta, and I just happened to be there."
"He had a go at Greta?" Jules asked, eyebrows raised.
Mrs. Vincent and Jules shared a look, both silently asking the same question.
"He was there sticking up for Nathalie. Seems like he really cares about her," one of the daughters-in-law added.
Jules nodded knowingly. "So that's the story."
Mrs. Vincent, being older, was well-loved by her sons, who always wanted to keep her happy.
She waved her hand dismissively. "No, if you think he's worth it, go ahead. I trust your judgment."
Jules exhaled, relieved. "Thanks for trusting me, Mother."
Jackson, however, was still uneasy. "Mother, you really shouldn't. My brother's smart, but everyone's human. What if he's got it wrong this time? I've heard Mr. Rowland is bad news; he's even driven some top companies bankrupt."
Mrs. Vincent replied, "In business, it's a game of winners and losers. Everyone's got their own tactics. As long as it's all above board, it's fair play."
"But the chairman of Rowland Corporation is his own dad. A guy who'd turn on his own family must be cold-hearted."
The old matriarch's face shifted slightly, her eyes on Jules. "Did you know about this?"
Jules nodded.
She seemed to relax a bit. "Alright then, go ahead and bring him on board."
That settled it.
Jackson stormed back to his room, still fuming.
His wife, ever gentle and supportive, tried to calm him. "Honey, what's gotten into you today? You never meddle in company stuff. Why are you suddenly so against your brother?"
"You didn't see Mother's face. She was clearly not happy about your meddling with the company. You should just keep living your carefree life. My brother's got a big heart; he won't leave us hanging."
Jackson threw the teacup he was holding to the floor in frustration. "I've had it."
His wife was startled. "Honey, what are you doing?"
