Chapter 632
Chapter 632:
Not long after, Alan, who had gone to investigate the hospital’s surveillance footage, returned and reported to Khloe and Henrik
—the person hiding behind the stairwell had evaded all the surveillance cameras and hadn’t been captured on any footage.
“Should we continue the investigation?” he asked.
Khloe shook her head. “No need. I believe those people secretly watching us will surface sooner or later. There’s no need to
waste any more energy.” Khloe’s priority was Sloane. She had to wait for Sloane to wake up to get clues about her imprisonment
and the evidence to prove Eric was guilty.
Suddenly, the sterile beeping of the machines inside the intensive care unit broke the stillness. Khloe stood abruptly, her usual
calm demeanor hardening into something cold and detached.
“Let’s go. She has woken up.”
As Khloe stepped into the ward, her sharp eyes caught Sloane’s unfocused gaze. Khloe didn’t waste time with pleasantries or
meaningless words. “The things I want.”
Sloane, who had just narrowly escaped death, looked at Khloe with complicated emotions and said, “The items are in a safe
Khloe nodded, turned around, and walked to the door to leave.
When she was about to step out of the ward, Sloane added, “Khloe, Eric was one of the people who sent you to jail back then.”
Khloe paused. For a fleeting moment, it seemed like she might turn back. But instead, she straightened her shoulders, held
Henrik’s arm, and continued forward.
Two hours later, Khloe was at home. She pressed the remote control’s pause button, her cold eyes staring intently at the big
screen.

She had just watched the evidence from the flash drive she had retrieved from the bank. It included a video recording of Sloane
recounting the details before Khloe was sent to jail, along with a large sum of money of unknown origin that the Evans family had
received. It was clear proof that someone else was behind all this.
Khloe stared at the bank statement, her expression hardening. The account that had wired the money was from overseas. It was
a single transaction that had vanished into thin air. The account itself no longer existed, making it difficult to find the account
holder.
However, Khloe was not giving up easily. She used her computer skills to locate the exact IP address from which the payment
during the timeframe. It was Sheri.
From the moment Sheri’s figure appeared, Henrik’s eyes became terrifyingly cold. “Sheri seems to be the one behind all this. But
Whitney must have done something, too.”
Although Sheri was also conducting medical research at that time, her medical ability was far inferior to Khloe’s. So, Sheri
couldn’t have possibly noticed Khloe’s achievement on her own and framed her.
The only possible person who could have done it was Whitney.
In terms of social status, medical capability, and motive, Whitney was the best candidate for a suspect, especially since she was
secretly conducting gene-related research back then.
Khloe was no longer surprised. She looked at Henrik and said coldly, “With this evidence, we can send Sheri to jail. However, the
punishment won’t be too severe. The Dayton family will do something behind the scenes. Probably, she won’t even stay in jail for
a year. And Whitney won’t receive any punishment at all. However, if I find evidence against Whitney, I swear to put her in jail.”
Khloe glanced at Henrik, whose expression was cold and unreadable. She knew he still had some emotional attachments to
Whitney. But this was her bottom line. She had to tell him before she did anything.
Henrik immediately understood the hidden meaning in Khloe’s words. He was stunned for a moment, then chuckled lightly, “Don’t
worry. No matter what you do, I will support you.”
