Zane spoke softly, his voice full of restraint. His face was calm, but inside, he was a whirlwind of emotions.
With a playful smile, Elysia wrapped her arms around his neck, her bright eyes locking onto his with a serious expression. “I
know exactly what I’m talking about.”
Each word felt like a wave crashing over Zane. His heart raced harder than before. He wanted to respond, but he couldn’t shake
the thought that she was only eighteen.
If he had to turn her down, it would hurt more than a knife piercing his heart.
He didn’t want to let go. This girl in front of him was someone he wanted to love and protect for a lifetime.
He couldn’t bear to say no.
Zane, a sharp businessman, found himself in a tough situation, completely unprepared to feel so torn inside.
Noticing his silence, Elysia playfully tilted his chin up. “I know what you’re thinking. You believe I’m too young. You think it’s
wrong to go after a girl like me?”
She hit the nail on the head. Zane felt exposed, his true feelings laid bare.
Looking into her sparkling yet slightly cool and alluring eyes, he hesitated. But then she added, “I just changed my identity to a
high school student. Trust me. I’ve been an adult for a while now, and besides—*
Suddenly, Elysia leaned in closer, her tone teasing. “Zane, I’m not complaining about your age. But if you think I’m too young,
maybe I’ll find another young and handsome guy to be with. There are plenty of charming guys out there, not just you.”
“Are you really trying to walk away from me, Elysia?” Zane asked, his brows furrowing in surprise.
“Maybe. I can’t hang onto one tree forever,” she replied casually, her eyes glinting with mischief.
At her words, Zane leaned in, closing the space between them to barely a foot.
Elysia looked startled, staring into his handsome face and bracing for his anger. But instead, Zane smirked and said, “Guess I’m
your type.”
His charming gaze, paired with his good looks and that deep, magnetic voice, made Elysia’s heart flutter in her chest.
“Sure, there are tons of good–looking guys in the world. But I think I’m the best one. By the way, didn’t you just say you wanted a
sweet and handsome guy? Well, guess what? I’m right here.”
Elysia blinked in surprise. She had encountered her fair share of self–absorbed guys before, but Zane took it to a whole new
level.
She thought. ‘Does he really see himself as a sweet and handsome man? What a mix–up. He’s more like a big force guardian
dog, strong and protective. ‘
Elysia looked at Zane, puzzled. “Didn’t you say you didn’t want to date me? What changed your mind?”
Zane’s lips curled into a playful smile. “If I don’t step up, Elysia, who else are you going to date?”
‘Sure, she’s young, but it’ll be alright in a few years. Keeping her close is way better than letting those other her,’ he thought.

“Of course, I’ll go for a handsome guy,” Elysia teased, trying to get under his skin.
Zane raised an eyebrow, pretending to be offended. “Am I not handsome enough?”
Elysia grinned mischievously. “You won’t know until I find someone else.”
Zane crossed his arms, a proud smirk on his face. “No need to look. I’m way more handsome than any of them.”
Elysia tilted her head, genuinely curious. “Where does that confidence come from?”
“It comes from you, Elysia,” Zane replied.

“Me? When did 1-” Before she could finish her thought, Zane leaned in and pressed a soft kiss on her forehead. Her eyes went
wide in surprise. His lips felt warm and sweet, sending a delightful tingle through her.
Still in shock, Elysia tried to process what had just happened. Zane gently ran his hand over her hair, his gaze filled with
affection.
He said, “Since you’re meant to be my wife, why not start getting used to that role now? My little girl deserves to be by my side
so I can relax.”
His voice was deep and captivating. The way his throat moved as he spoke only added to his charm.
Elysia’s legs were still wrapped around his waist, and she felt her cheeks growing warmer. Just moments ago, she had felt calm.
Now, a blush crept across her face, making her heart race.
“Are you really so sure I’ll be your wife?” Elysia asked, raising an eyebrow playfully. “What if one day I get tired of you and decide
I don’t want you anymore?”
Zane leaned closer, unfazed. A mischievous smile tugged at his lips. “Then I’ll just hold on tight. Once I grab your hand, you can
bet I won’t let go.”
As he spoke, he slid his fingers around hers, his gaze both charming and a little intense.
Elysia felt her cheeks warm. But this time, she managed to stay composed. “You’ve been carrying me forever. Don’t you get
tired?”
Zane chuckled, confidence shining in his eyes. “Not at all. I could carry you and run a few miles without breaking a sweat.” He
winked, clearly enjoying the moment.
“Sure, you might be fine, but my legs are feeling it,” Elysia said, frowning a bit.
“Want to switch things up?” Zane teased, raising an eyebrow.
“Cut it out.” Elysia instinctively untangled her legs from his waist. But just as her feet were about to touch the floor, he scooped
her up again effortlessly.
This time, he lifted her as if she were a princess being swept off her feet.
“Since your legs are sore, just relax,” Zane said, settling her down gently on the couch. He carefully raised
them a soft massage to ease her discomfort.
“How’s that? Is it feeling any better?” he asked, concern flickering in his eyes.
“I didn’t know you had such great massage skills, Zane,” Elysia said.

“I’m a little out of practice. I guess I’ll have to work on it more,” Zane replied. He kept his head lowered, softly kneading her
calves with both hands.

His long eyelashes framed striking blue eyes, and his strong jawline gave him an air of confidence and wisdom. At that moment,
he resembled a hero from a comic book, and Elysia found it hard to look away.
She thought he truly seemed like someone who was favored by fate, blessed with such good looks.

“Elysia, come a little closer. If you like it, you can lean on me to get a better look,” Zane said playfully, a smirk dancing on his lips.
“I wasn’t staring at you,” Elysia shot back, not daring to meet his eyes.
“Then what was that look just now? You seemed totally captivated,” Zane teased, leaning in even closer.
Elysia turned her head away, feeling her cheeks flush. “That’s none of your business.”
But Zane wasn’t backing down. He moved even closer, his voice smooth and charming. “Oh, come on, Elysia. You can admire
my looks a little more. That way, when you see other guys, you won’t think anyone looks better than me.”
Her heart raced in her chest. Elysia pushed her hands between them to create some space. “I need to talk to you about
something.”
“What do you want to say, Elysia?” he asked, tilting his head with genuine curiosity.
“Our relationship... we can’t let anyone else know about it right now,” she said, her tone growing serious.
“Wait, are you saying it’s a secret romance?” Zane’s brow furrowed.
“Sort of,” she admitted, biting her lip nervously.
At that, Zane’s expression turned grave.
Elysia raised an eyebrow at him. “Are you upset?”
“I’m just wondering when you’ll let the world see us,” he replied, his voice serious now.
“Just wait a little longer. My situation makes things complicated,” she explained.
Even though she graduated from Harvard some time ago, she felt like she could’ve been doing great things in her career if she
had jumped straight into the workforce.
But that wasn’t really her path. She had always been the kind of person who shined in various areas. In fact, she was excelling in
several fields.
She couldn’t help but feel a little pride swell inside her.
However, if she revealed her relationship with Zane, her otherwise peaceful life would be turned upside down. Plus, there was
the matter of her family. She needed her grandfathers to accept Zane first.
