Chapter 1759
Chapter 1759: How could they outsmart all of them?!
The pursuit continued despite Hugo managing to avoid crashing into anyone when his tire was hit. After all, Wild's backup quickly reached them eventually. Thus, once Hugo jumped off to the side of the road, the people who opened fire at him didn't even get to finish the job, with Wild taking one of them down.
"Are you alright?" Wild stood next to Hugo's figure on the side of the road, extending his hand. "Can you get up?"
Hugo had his arm over his helmet, his visor cracked. His back was pressed against the ground, still not moving since he rolled over there after the crash.
"Damn it!" he yelled as he punched the soil next to him.
Hugo didn't even take Wild's hand out of frustration, sitting up before taking off his helmet. As if punching the soil wasn't enough, he smashed his already broken helmet to the side.
"Damn..." he ruffled his hair in irritation, shaking his head.
He had been too careless, resulting in being unable to keep his eyes on the target who had taken his sister.
Wild remained quiet, watching Hugo from the side. This was the first time he had seen Hugo this frustrated, but he couldn't blame the man.
"It's not your fault, Hugo," said Wild. "The people who took her... they did it with every possibility in mind. And what I mean by that is, they knew you would come."
After all, whatever was going on, the second Hugo heard his siblings needed help, he would come. It didn't matter where he was. It was why, after Yugi called Wild, he intuitively called Hugo, just in case.
Sure enough, Hugo appeared.
"Those guys are there for you," Wild said, his eyes drifting to the other SUV that had crashed several meters from them. It was the vehicle Wild had opened fire on, taking the driver down.
"They're here to make sure you won't catch up," he added. "That much I'm sure of."
Because if Wild were the enemy, he would quickly think of a way to hold back or eliminate the biggest threat that could foil the entire operation. It wasn't like others weren't to be considered, but Hugo could physically jump into a
confrontation. That alone was a headache.
Hugo snapped his eyes up at Wild, huffing sharply. "Thanks for having my back, Uncle Wild. They would've shot me if you were a second late."
"Not on my watch, kid." Wild offered him a hand, nodding at him. "Get up if you're not injured."
Hugo stared at him for a second before reaching out to Wild, accepting his help until he was back on his feet.
"By the way, who is following them now?" Hugo asked, touching his leg a little.
"Mark's still following them, along with my men and the police," Wild shrugged, eyeing Hugo's leg. "Did they shoot you? You're bleeding."
"No. It's an old wound - it reopened." Hugo straightened his back and faced him. "It'll be fine. Just a stitch and some pain reliever."
As Hugo said those words, he turned his head to the medics rushing toward him. His heart still felt like it was burning, but he knew there was no point in following them with his leg bleeding like a river.
He limped to meet the medics halfway, but they quickly yelled at him to stop.
Wild, on the other hand, kept his gaze on Hugo. While he stayed quiet, a loud sound of a car pierced the silence.
Everyone instinctively turned their heads to the source, catching a red sports car just driving past all of them.
Wild furrowed his brows, but before he could assume it was from the other force, Hugo spoke.
"That's my brother's," Hugo breathed out, balling his hand into a tight fist as he recognized that car.
Even though the sports car didn't even stay for over five seconds in their line of sight, he wouldn't mistake that vehicle. And because of that, Hugo was even more infuriated.
He was the older brother, but his little siblings were at the scene.
"Please stitch me up," he hissed, barely holding himself back as he cast a sharp look at the medic. His eyes burned as he added under his breath, "and some morphine so it doesn't get in the way."
Meanwhile, in the red sports car speeding along the highway, Slater's eyes glinted. He had caught Hugo earlier with Wild and was already aware of what had happened from the radio on the empty passenger seat.
"I'm going to kill them," he breathed out, gripping the steering wheel. "They better make sure she's not hurt."
Otherwise, forget about the plan or anything. Slater might as well just do what he was trained for in his previous life. It didn't matter if he was going to die doing so, knowing he would rather die than watch his sister get taken.
Their first lifetime ended tragically.
This one? Not a chance.
As Slater listened to the radio from the device in the passenger seat, his brows knitted.
"They're going back to the city," he muttered, keeping track of where the target was through this. "Why?"
He didn't feel good about this.
After all, the men who took Penny were obviously moving away from the city. It gave the impression that wherever they were headed was a rendezvous point.

But now, they were all going back to TH
the city. It wasn't like there weren't any other roads, but that was
her roads, but that was
unlikely. After all, a chase in the city
was even more dangerous for them because of the police. The content is on Novelxo.org! Read the latest chapter there!
"No." Slater snapped his eyes open as realization dawned on him.

Right now, the majority of the police
forces, Zoren's forces, and Penny's forces
were in this place. If the plan
was to draw them all out, then their original destination was somewhere
in the city. The content is on Novelxo.org! Read the latest

"That bastard!" Slater slammed his hand on the steering wheel before quickly reaching out for the walkie-talkie on the passenger seat.
"It's a trap!" he yelled. "They only drew everyone out of the city. They're leaving
from there possibly via chopper! Go back! I repeat, go back to the city!"
The call from Slater rang out to everyone who carried the same device. That included the people around Hugo and Wild.

Hugo, seated in the back of the ambulance, had his eyes wide open. Even Wild froze their eyes falling on the device just placed beside Hugo to
listen to the situation. The content is on Novelxo.org! Read the latest chapter there!
