Chapter 228
A sinister smile curled on Ivan's lips.
"Why do the dirty work ourselves when we can have them kill their own children? That would be so much more entertaining."
Judy glanced over at Vivian and Howard, who stood frozen to the spot, and exchanged a knowing look with Ivan.
"Agreed," she said, her voice cold.
"Listen up," Ivan continued, his voice dripping with malice. "You two, follow my
orders. In ten minutes, drench this entire villa in gasoline, especially the second and third floors. Got it?"
Vivian and Howard nodded stiffly. "Yes."
Ivan and Judy exchanged one last glance before turning to leave.
"Let's go," Ivan said, his voice steady as they slipped out of the basement and vanished into the night.
Ten minutes later, Vivian and Howard were standing in the hallway, pouring gasoline everywhere. The air thickened with the sharp, suffocating smell.
Meanwhile, Danielle had been riding the rides at the amusement park, grinning mischievously as she checked her phone. Her smile was devious. She tapped in a video call, and in no time, the screen lit up.
"Danielle, can we start now?"
"Danielle, we've been waiting for your signal. Is the show about to start?"
"Danielle, where are you? You're out?"
"Danielle, you went to the amusement park? Why didn't you invite us?"
The moment the call connected, her brothers bombarded her with excited questions, talking over each other so fast she couldn't even get a word in.
"Yeah, I've already left the Darling family," Danielle replied, her voice calm but urgent. "My people are in place. Mom and Dad are under control and they're spreading gasoline in the hallways. If you don't stop them now, the house is going up in flames."
Her brothers immediately froze. They could already smell the gasoline wafting from the phone's speaker. In a panic, they rushed out into the hallway, only to see their parents, Howard and Vivian, holding gasoline canisters, pouring fuel all over the place.
"Mom! Dad! What are you doing?" Austin shouted, his eyes watering from the overwhelming stench.
Howard and Vivian looked up, but their eyes weren't filled with concern. No, to them, their sons weren't family-they were obstacles, standing in the way of their mission.
Howard quickly dumped the rest of the gasoline in his hands, while Vivian hastily did the same. Matthew lunged forward to stop them, but Howard, without hesitation, threw him into a shoulder throw. Matthew hit the ground hard, his teeth gritted in pain. He groaned to himself, "What is this? It's bad enough getting captured and poisoned, now my own dad is tossing me around like a rag doll."
The guys were stunned. Matthew's fall seemed to snap them out of their shock, and they rushed to intervene. But Howard wasn't done. After tossing Matthew aside, he went straight for Austin.
"No, don't!" Austin shouted, but it was too late. Howard used all his strength to throw Austin over his shoulder, and Austin was sent spinning, his vision flashing with stars.
He could've sworn he heard the sound of his dignity shattering. He wanted to cry- his own father throwing him around like this? What did he ever do to deserve it? Why not go pick on Joseph or Elliot instead?
The noise woke a servant, who rushed to the third floor. When she saw the scene unfolding and smelled the gasoline in the air, she froze, her mind scrambling to make sense of it.
"Get all the other servants to clean this up!" Joseph barked, his tone sharp.
The servants scrambled to grab cleaning supplies, but Howard still wasn't finished.
He swung at them, but his sons had finally had enough. Together, they subdued both Howard and Vivian, dragging them to the study. The guys stayed close, eyes trained on their parents, worried that they might do something even worse.
Danielle hung up the video call and sent a message with a single question: [Found the mole in the house yet?]
The reply came quickly: [Of course I know. How did you figure it out?]
Danielle smiled softly. [You're too smart. Nothing escapes you, huh?]
"I'm pretty sharp," the man responded with a touch of pride. "So, the housekeeper and Aunt Vivian are both under the curse?"
"Yeah, the maid did it. I've sent
someone to pick up Orion. Hopefully,
.n
they can break the curse," Danielle explained, her tone serious. "It's crazy how going to Blackpool Village to find Matthew led to finding
someone who knows how to break curses and toxins. I really needed
that. I didn't know what to do otherwise." Content belongs to

"And don't forget about Andrew's mom. You promised him you'd help her. Set up a
time with him. I'll go check on her."
Danielle's expression softened. She
wasn't just doing it for Andrew. It

was a chance to put her medical skills to use. "I'll go do that. I haven't had a chance to show off my skills lately. My hands have been itching."
Danielle made a face as he messed with her hair, trying to fix it. "Don't touch my hair! Look at what you've done now it's all staticky and frizzy."
David laughed, feeling a bit guilty. "Sorry, I'll fix it." He ran his hands through her
hair, trying to smooth it out.
"You want to play more?" he asked, his eyes full of affection.
"Play? The house is probably falling apart. We should head home," she replied,
giving him a pointed look.
David raised an eyebrow. "Why, because you're worried about your family?"
She smirked. "No. But I think it's time to put an end to this chaos."
Meanwhile, Iyan and Judy had made their way out of the Darling family
estate, but not far into their net
they noticed they were being followed. Their senses went on high alert. They took several winding,
hidden routes, but when they looked

"That's definitely someone from the Darling family. Lucky we noticed them. Let's go
find the master."
Judy's face flushed with excitement at the mention of the master. "I can't wait to see him again," she said, her voice full of longing.
"The master has arrived in Aleria, but I don't have the address yet. I've already contacted the butler and am waiting for a response. Let's find somewhere to wait,"
Judy said, her voice laced with anticipation.
Ivan couldn't help but sneer inwardly. 'The master? As if she could be so familiar. She didn't even know her place.'
"Alright, let's find a spot and wait for the master's instructions."
Both of them believed they had shaken off their pursuers, their guard slipping. But in reality, the second wave of agents was already tracking their every move.
This was all part of Danielle's plan. She had wanted them to lead her straight to the
mastermind.
Later that night, Danielle returned to the Darling family estate, greeted by the sight of servants hurriedly cleaning up.
"Miss Darling, you're back!" one of the maids said, her voice filled with respect.
The change was subtle but noticeable-Danielle's presence now commanded not just respect, but admiration. Her aura had changed, and the maids now looked at
her with stars in their eyes.
She pushed open the study door, where her brothers were waiting for her.
"Danielle, you're back! Next time, just call us if you want to go to the amusement
park. We'll come with you. The more, the merrier, right?"
"Sure," Danielle said with a playful grin.
Her brothers cheered, thrilled by her response. They'd do anything to make sure
Danielle was happy.
