Chapter 817
"What's wrong? Mr. Leach, do you recognize this item?" The guests crowded around.
"This... It's identical! But... it shouldn't be here!" Brandson Leach inspected the bead over and over. His expression shifted
between shock and disbelief.
The members of the Yeager family were visibly unsettled.
Even Zack stepped forward.
"Mr. Leach, have you seen this before? Do you know its origin?" Zack asked.
“I just returned from Summerdale, where I attended a major auction a few days ago," Brandson said. "It was quite the event.
Many powerful figures from top-tier families were present..."
Everyone perked up and hung on his every word.
"The centerpiece of the auction was a small bead. It was said to be over 2000 years old. It once belonged to an emperor known
as the First Emperor!
"Legend has it that the emperor carried the bead with him throughout his life. He was never sick, possessed divine strength, and
could slay enemies effortlessly. Even when mortally wounded, he miraculously survived, thanks to that very bead."
"That's outrageous!" the crowd exclaimed as if it was all a myth.
"The bead was the highlight of the auction. It sparked fierce competition among top-tier families and even led to verbal
altercations right on the auction floor..."
The guests were stunned. How valuable must that bead be to cause such chaos? "The bead from that auction is identical to this
one!" Brandson declared solemnly. The crowd's expressions changed dramatically.
The looks they shot toward the bead in Dustin's hand were no longer the same. Could it really be that bead?
"I agree," Damien added.
"Even if the bead were real, how could it end up here? The big shots fought over it
a few days ago in Summerdale. Wouldn't it have been acquired by one of those powerful families?
"Also, how could such a priceless bead end up in his hands? There's no way someone like him could afford it..."
"Mr. Kendall has a point." The guests nodded in agreement.
It made no sense.
"Exactly!" Brandson nodded in agreement. "That bead was eventually purchased by Stanley Kennedy, the head of the powerful
Kennedy family, for 150 million dollars. That was after calling in many favors from other elite families. It's worth far more than just
80 million."
"So... this must be a fake!" Kendall declared loudly.
The crowd smirked in disdain.
Check This Out
Who would dare pass off a fake as something this legendary?
Dustin smiled faintly.
"Here's the authentication certificate from Summerdale Auction House." He held out a document.
"Authentication certificate?" Brandson took it and inspected it.
"It's the same one everyone saw at the auction!"
What a plot twist! The crowd froze in place.
"This certificate is authentic. No one would dare to forge the auction house's seal," Adrian said.
"What?!" The guests were once again stunned.
Did this mean the bead in Dustin's hand was genuine?
"How did you acquire this bead?" Brandson asked Dustin urgently.
"I bought it for 80 million from someone in Summerdale," Dustin said.
His words shocked the entire room.
Who else could that "someone" be but Stanley Kennedy?
But that was impossible. It made no sense...
Stanley was someone with such a high status, and he had spent 150 million to obtain the bead after great effort. Why would he
sell it for 80 million to a nobody from Hattan?
"This bead is worth 80 million and my gift to Patricia's
great grandfather on his birthda
Dustin said as he held up the"
bead.
No one dared to laugh this time.
The room was deathly silent.
Kendall and the Yeager family members stared at Dustin in shock.
How did he obtain this bead?
How could he have that kind of capability?
They were in utter disbelief.
Was Dustin not supposed to be an incompetent good-for-nothing?
What was happening?
Even Patricia was astonished at the back of the crowd.
