Chapter 4478
Yantail's boss had real vision and guts. He transferred half of his shares to River and locked him in at Yantail. As long as the
company thrived, the boss had nothing to worry about.
And he was right. Yantail's boss had gone from near bankruptcy to becoming a billionaire.
And he was only going to get richer.
At this point, Yantail was basically River's company. There was no way he'd walk away from it for another job.
Instead, he'd pour everything he had into making Yantail even stronger.
The original boss didn't get involved anymore. River handled everything. The boss only showed up at big meetings—and even
then, he mostly just listened to River. These days, he spent his time taking care of his daughter, who was in her last year of high
the money just kept rolling in. It was the kind of carefree life most people only dreamed of.
Before he gave River those shares, plenty of major companies tried to lure River away with huge offers. None of them
succeeded—and the boss knew what he had to do.
He shocked everyone by handing River half the company.
There's a big difference between working for someone and working for yourself. River and Yantail's boss were the perfect
combo-complementary and built on trust. That's why Yantail was what it was today.
Donovan thought to himself: If I were Yantail's boss, I don't think I could've done it. Half the company? No way. At most, I'd give
River a small percentage. Half? Forget it.
No wonder people said the boss had vision and guts. Maybe he wasn't a business genius, but he had great instincts. He hired
River, trusted him completely, and stuck with him.
And when people talked bad about River, the boss didn't listen. He didn't care. He didn't even hesitate-he'd fire anyone who tried
to throw shade at River.
He lived by one rule: trust who you hire, and don't hire anyone you can't trust. "His success is our nightmare," Romina said.
"Don't forget, Yantail and Lafond are in the same industry. We're competitors-and competitors are enemies.". "Exactly," Donovan
said. "I wanted to poach him for Lafond, too, but before I could even make a move, Yantail gave him half the company.". Romina
let out a sigh of regret.
They missed the best executive talent out there.
"Fine, I'll admit he's brilliant. But he's still our archrival. Whenever I see him, I get this itch to fight.".
She paused, suddenly alert. "Wait a minute what are you getting at, brother? Are you saying you think River and I could actually
be a couple?". Romina wasn't stupid. She picked up on it fast.
She glared at her brother, wide-eyed. He knew full well she and River were sworn enemies—yet here he was, trying to play
matchmaker?
Donovan grinned. "If we forget about the business stuff, the only man I've ever thought was good enough for my brilliant little
sister... is River. So far, I haven't met anyone more suitable for you. You two understand each other perfectly. One glance and
you know what the other is thinking. You're beautiful, he's handsome. You're a perfect match.".
