Chapter 3554
Chapter 3554 Sibling Reunion
Inside the Governor's Keep, Olexar was gently piling food onto Orla's plate with a doting expression.
Toliver had been left behind to finish clearing out the last of the rebel stragglers. Olexar and Matthew, meanwhile, had followed
Orla back to the Keep.
Toliver had once served under Olexar, but after Brennan's betrayal sent Olexar to the Carnage Cruise, Toliver-without a leader-
had pledged loyalty to Orla. Later, when Orla disguised herself as her brother to maintain order, Toliver played a vital role in
supporting the act.
"Olexar, I really can't eat any more," Orla said, staring helplessly at the mound of food threatening to overflow from her plate.
Although the rare display of brotherly affection warmed her heart, her appetite was normally small-barely enough for a single
plate. There was no way she could finish all this.
"Orla, you're the Governor now. You need to eat more. I'm not expecting you to be as strong as Mr. Larden, but you should at
least be able to take a few hits. You have no idea I nearly lost it listening to Paxton, that b*stard, today." He sighed, dropping a
"Speaking of which, where the hell is that dog now?"
Watching the normally graceful and composed Olexar grumble and curse, Orla couldn't help but smile. It was a soft, radiant
smile-like the warmth of spring sunshine. Anyone who saw it would instantly feel a fondness for her.
"I let him go. Mr. Whitmoor and our father were sworn brothers. We couldn't just kill the guy and leave Mr. Whitmoor with that
kind of heartbreak," she said.
Olexar didn't look convinced, his cheeks puffed out in frustration. "Some nerve he had to threaten my sister! If it weren't for Mr.
Whitmoor, I'd have had him strung up outside the Keep for three days and nights."
Meanwhile, Matthew quietly ate, not interrupting the warm moment between siblings.
"By the way, you said Matteo found you on that ship what happened after that?" Orla asked suddenly, her eyes bright with
curiosity as she turned to her brother.
"Well..." Olexar glanced at Matthew and grinned. "Mr. Larden helped me suppress the cursed bug inside me. 1 even got a little
benefit from it. After that, he brought me back to third level and from there, we returned here."
He kept the story short, summarizing it neatly.
you that my brother made it home. From now on, the Governor's Keep will be your most steadfast ally."
Her eyes lingered on Matthew's sharp yet striking features, a touch
of admiration glimmering in her gaze. The mystery that once
surrounded him had now been
replaced by gratitude-he had saved her brother's life.
Matthew gave a polite smile in return. "Thank you, Governor Lew."
Olexar waved it off with a chuckle. "No need to be so formal with my sister, Mr. Larden. Just call her Orla."
Matthew hesitated. "Wouldn't that be a little inappropriate?"
"It's perfectly fine!"
Both Matthew and Olexar froze at the sudden interjection, instinctively turning toward Orla.
Realizing how forceful she had
sounded, Orla's fair cheeks flushed pink. "I just meant... there's no need to be so polite. You've helped the Governor's Keep
more than
veron
once and you even brought my
brother back."
Olexar finally nodded, but as he glanced between Orla and Matthew, a trace of suspicion crept into his eyes.
Something about this... didn't feel quite right.
