Chapter 1198
Chapter 1198
Whitney continued, "Well, the clock's ticking and there's no turning back. Not my fault you're such a charmer-Sienna couldn't
help but fall for you."
"Look, Ludwik's already made a mess with the whole 'sisters tangled up in drama' situation. Don't you dare repeat it."
Shane rolled his eyes, clearly annoyed. "Are you trying to gross me out?"
Whitney just raised her eyebrows. "You need to nip things with Sienna in the bud if you want to be worthy of Sandy."
"Alright, alright, my future sister-in-law, can you just zip it? I'll handle it today."
Shane shot off his text and didn't bother replying to her after that.
Whitney put her phone away with a sigh. Some days it felt like she had a mountain of her own problems, but somehow she
always ended up worrying about everyone else's business too.
If she wasn't such good friends with Shane, she wouldn't care less about his love life.
Not to mention, she'd love to squash whatever ideas Emma was getting.
Seriously, it was pointless. They were all family now-she had no interest in playing those petty games.
As long as Sienna didn't end up with Shane, there'd be a lot less drama in the future.
Florence might be gone, but Sienna was a handful. If she thought she could step up and be the next Florence, Whitney would
Her eyes grew cool for a moment. She took a deep breath, smoothed out her expression, and drove back to Nelson Hospital.
She was supposed to report back to Ludwik.
But her mind kept drifting to Hudson. Had he managed to see her mom yet?
First thing Whitney did was head straight to Parisa's room. Out in the hallway, she spotted Hudson's assistant waiting outside-no
sign of Hudson or his wheelchair. Whitney shot a cautious glance at the window of her mom's room and allowed herself a small,
satisfied smile.
Looks like Dad had taken her advice and gone in after all.
The door wasn't completely shut. Maybe her mom was nervous, or just wanted the nurse to keep an eye out so things wouldn't
get awkward.
Not that Whitney was going to eavesdrop.
The whole floor was quiet-just her mom's private room open, which made things feel even more peaceful.
How was it going in there, anyway? Were they actually talking?
Just then, Hudson's assistant noticed her and looked like he was about to call out "Miss Whitney"—but she quickly gestured for
him to keep quiet.
Dad couldn't find out she was here. He was so proud-so awkward if he knew.
She made a little shooing motion, saying she was heading out.
worry, he's doing fine. I heard him talking to your mother-couldn't make out what, but at least they're speaking."
Whitney let out a huge sigh of relief-honestly, she was more nervous than Hudson himself.
She winked at the nurse and flashed a mischievous grin. "Keep an eye out, okay? If anything happens, just call me. I'm heading
out before Dad catches me lurking."
The assistant watched her sneak away, practically tiptoeing.
It was obvious Whitney was finally getting a little happiness-having both her parents around, she was just a kid again, no matter
how old she was. He'd watched Whitney struggle ever since she'd come
home to the Sheldon family.
It had only been a year, but he really liked this girl. She was nothing like Florence
at heart.
With Whitney around, the Sheldon family and Sheldon Group would definitely have a bright future.
As long as Emma didn't start any trouble or pick a fight with Whitney.
The assistant sighed quietly and stood a few steps back from the room, catching a glimpse of the figures moving inside. That tall,
handsome silhouette could only be Mr Sheldon.
He was always a man of standards-no way would he stay in a wheelchair in front
of the woman he loved.
The assistant couldn't help but smile to himself.
...
Inside the room, Hudson tried not to look at the woman lying in the hospital bed, his dark eyes full of restraint.
But he couldn't help stealing glances, hungry for just a little more time with her.
